Chapter 8 - Power Disparity

The Alabaster Weald land is enshrouded by light, finding its way into the room she is sleeping in covering her body bit by bit. Slowly opens her eyes which lock on Genteel who is wearing a different white garment.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty! Good Morning!" Genteel greets Mukura Jocundly.

Mukura takes her time getting up, cleans her eyes, "Good morning, mother!" she replies.

"Ahem, mother!?" Genteel's face lights up with a smile.

"Sorry, I mean ma'am!" forthwith correction and she sit up straight with haste, "I did not sleep in for too, long did I?"

"No, you did not, do not worry."

Mukura calms down, "Ohh, thank god! How long have you been watching me sleep?"

"I could not sleep, so all night!" she takes a tray with breakfast, "Here is your breakfast, bread and juice." She smiles handing it over to her, "Hope you like it!"

"Thank you! I will savour it."

She begins to eat and Genteel leaves the room and meets Catherine in the corridor who seems to be jubilant about something. Facial expression on Genteel's face gradually changes from being smiley to being creeped out with questions.

"How are you feeling today?" Catherine asks grabbing Genteel's arm.

"I am doing good. Are you not supposed to be somewhere doing something?"

"I am actually supposed to be somewhere, doing something but I am just checking on my friend who seems to be happier than usual."

"Why? What? Where did you get that idea of me being happier than usual?"

"I don't know! You tell me. I just hope you did not do what you were forbidden from doing and not going to try now!"

"Actually, I will not! I am actually going to get her a nice suit of armour for the battles that lie ahead!" she increases her speed headed for her chambers.

Catherine stops, "If you say so!" she turns to leave.

Genteel continues to her chambers with a smile on her face. Picks up her armour and heads back to Mukura, who has already finished eating.

"Where do I put the dishes?" Mukura asks getting up turning to look at Genteel who she locks on holding some sort of ancient clothing, "Ummm, what is that?"

"This is what I wore when I went into battle!" she lays it on the bed ever smiling, "And Ohhh, you can give me those and try this on!"

"Thank you but what happened to what I was wearing before?"

"You will get them when you return! I just need to remove the enchantment placed on them first."

Genteel grabs the tray and leaves the room so that Mukura can change.

"You now look like a warrior!" Genteel shares her opinion upon laying eyes on Mukura, who is wearing her former war gear.

"I do not know; the gear is loose and red is not really my colour!"

"Nonsense, you look perfect in it!"

"Really?"

"Yes, you do. Here come and look in the mirror!" she drags Mukura to look at the mirror, "Do you see what I am talking about now?"

"A little, I guess."

"Ohh, do not worry, at war you are not supposed to look fancy anyway!" she walks to the door and turns to look at her, "It is time for you to get going now, if you keep being here any longer I might not allow you to go!"

"Okay then," Mukura follows behind, "I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for me!"

"Do not worry about that, you just need to come out of this unscathed!"

"I promise!"

"Good but you need to fight hard to survive!"

"I will."

Genteel points at Buoyant, "Buoyant, Bring my stuff to me!"

The two head straight for the barrier and are joined by Catherine and Buoyant. Buoyant hands over the stuff to Genteel.

"What is that stuff for? You already command a tremendous amount of magic." Mukura asks looking at the stuff Genteel is handling.

"My body can only control so much magic, but this stuff heightens my magic beyond its limit." Raises her hand to signal the three to stop and strikes the ground with the bottom of the stuff.

"I see, so you use it to do things that you alone with your magic cannot."

"Well, that is a simpler way to put it."

"I understand!"

"Well then young lady, until next time!" she steps to the side so she can go through the wall.

"This is goodbye then!" she walks into the wall opening.

A tear runs down Genteel's cheek while she watches her leave, Catherine and Buoyant just stand there watching her. Buoyant clears his throat.

"Do you have anything to say Buoyant? If you do speak now!"

"Nothing, my queen!" he replies bowing down.

"Well you must be filled with joy after seeing her leave, after all you gathered those people to protest so she can be executed!"

Buoyant kneels down, "I humbly ask for your forgiveness, my queen!"

She turns to walk away, "Just know that if you ever try anything like this! It will not end well for you."

Catherine follows her as they made their way back to her home.

The Central Business District

"Hmm, the Karanga land, "Gwanhoya sniffs the air, "I smell different bloodlines and some not of this land's origin!" she walks in the high way slowly with people looking at her in terror, "What has this world come to! Is this why you killed me Chikanda? So you can taint this land with your descendants? Even in death, you are a disgrace!" she shouts spreading her arms looking in the sky.

Hearing Gwanhoya shout people around would like to call her a mad woman but her appearance says otherwise, for the sake of curiosity they keep a distance. The crowds continue to gather to see this unexpected creature.

"As I wait for the others to arrive, I guess I will start with you that are already here!"

Her eyes emitting fire, a dark thick cloud rising around her, a pastor holding a cross comes closer to her praying with a bottle of holy water in his hand. Gwanhoya just looks at him wondering how he got so much courage to come closer to her.

He opens up the bottle walking up to her in confidence and the people cheering him while keeping their distance. The pastor places the cross in his pocket, opens up the bottle and gets ready to pour the holy water into his hand so he can throw it at her.

Curiosity gets the best of Gwanhoya, so instead of waiting for him to get much close to her, she goes to meet him half way. Instead of fleeing, the pastor continues and he throws the holy water on her face. Gwanhoya steps back and screams in agony, the smoke cloud that was rising around her disappears as her face burns in responds to the holy water.

The pastor quickly brings out his cross, sprinkles holy water on it, and places the cross on Gwanhoya's head and the intensity of her scream increases breaking every nearby glass or screen. The cheer leading that was on a high drop to zero. Gwanhoya continues to scream and the pastor begins praying hard for some seconds separating the demon from its host. But the faith is outweighed by the will.

Gwanhoya goes silent looking down on the ground kneeling.

"Run!" she says in a much darker hoarse voice.

"I shall not flee from the devil!" he answers and continues to pray.

"Human, I have seen the devil! And trust me when I say, I am not the devil!"

The pastor's cross catches fire burning his hand, and a malevolent smile sticks on her face with the dark thick smoke rising again from the ground around her. The faith and the confidence the pastor had shatter and he turns to run.

Gwanhoya rises from the ground, "I gave you a chance to run but you refused!" she licks her upper lip slowly, stretches her hand forward, draw him back to where she is, "You hurt me, now I hurt you too!" she says looking in his eyes and turns him to look away.

With a lot of strength, she dips her hand inside him and removes his spine, giggles and licks the blood. And continues removing the rest of his bones from his body.

Upon seeing this horrific thing happen the people gathering run for their lives and she stops to look at them all as they panic and run.

"Well, like lost sheep with no shepherd, they always run like this, sadly there is no way out for anyone! If they do not run it would be boring anyway, I will make sure their souls are put into good use!"

She continues what she was doing, making her magical stuff with the bones of the pastor she just brutally murdered.

"You should be honoured! You are going to serve a great purpose." She licks her lips rounding up on creating her stuff.

A 4.5 feet magical stick with the skull. Rises from the ground looks around her and find no one close by.

Someone at this point greets her with a gunshot to the head and she falls to the ground. She remains idle on the ground for a while like a lifeless corpse. The policeman who shot her lets his guard down and calls over the others who are in hiding and they come out. Their eyes not moving away from Gwanhoya.

"After that display all it took to take her out is a single bullet?" the policeman laughs and the others join in getting closer to her body.

Gwanhoya wakes up, removes the bullet from her head using her telekinesis. She looks at the bullet floating it in the air with a disappointed face.

"How primitive. How far this world has fallen! They do not even know what amounts to true power. Very well, I shall give them a glimpse before I kill them all!" she speaks to herself.

She throws the bullet away and, in an instant, a dark storm rises around her shaking the whole place. The laughing of the policeman turns into a sweaty terrified moment. The knees are weak, the heart has lost courage and the minds drowned in fear.

They have witnessed something that should be impossible to man and woman happening before their eyes.

"What a rush!" she puts on a goblin smile, "So, which one of you fools wants to die first!" she advances forward towards the one who shot her.

Puts out her hand, draws him closer and looks at him deep in his eyes.

"You are terrified of death, but you are not afraid to bring such a fate upon another soul with your own hands." She sniffs him, "Maybe you will do until I get my young princess back! Do not worry, I will take care of all that fear inside you."

She grabs his neck, forces him to open his mouth and breathes darkness into it. She lets his body fall to the ground.

"Well then, who wants to play with me?" she asks with her arms spread out.

"Demon, put away your weapon and put your hands behind your head!" one of the police officers' stammers.

The gun in his hand is not even steady.

Gwanhoya laughs, "Well, I really don't need this stuff here, I just like using it but if you say so!" she puts it down and puts her hands behind her head.

The officer smiles and starts walking towards her.

"And before you get your hopes up, I also not need these hands to kill all of you! Saturnine wrath," darkness with fire pour out from her mouth racing towards the polices officers.

Confusion begins with each one trying to run but the crowd is too big and escape is impossible with the speed the darkness is moving with.

"Ground rumble!" a voice is heard shouting.

Gwanhoya looks around and cannot see anyone but why is nothing happening.

"A god speaks! Punishment of the gods!" lightning descends striking Gwanhoya.

A barricade of lightning seemingly originating from the ground blocks the darkness from devouring the officers but does not extinguish it.

In her head Gwanhoya is sure there should be no other person able to cancel or block her power or use the fire of the gods at this level. She seems shocked by the unexpected turn of events but who is it?

The officers seem to have calmed down and are also captured by this turn of events and wonder who it is that saved their life.

Suddenly a memory hits back and she recalls the moment when she was at the chief's home and the boy there threw a lightning bolt at her. But her thoughts are rejecting the possibility for there is no way one can improve this much in a short period of time and also, she could smell the stench of his fear. Or the chief has resurrected and overcome death? For a moment she sweats at the thought.

"You are going to pay for killing my father, witch!" Gurudza utters these words holding a spear in his right hand and a shield on his left.

"How sweet! And how exactly are you going to do that little boy?" her confidence rejuvenated after the confirmation that the chief is not alive, "Well then little boy! Do your best." She removes her hands from behind her back.

"I don't need your cheerleading!"

He runs head on for her and Gwanhoya notices clouds are assembling and smells like it is going to rain. A human should not be able to use such power. And back in the day the one that defeated her used a similar power.

"This is it for you witch! This is your punishment from the gods!" he shouts at her running.

A huge amount of power is being concentrated on one point. But if that is so, the barrier should be weakening and the darkness should swallow the soldiers! She thinks to herself.

He infuses lighting into his spear and attempts a strike on Gwanhoya who easily dodges and summons her stuff and beats him with it on the back. Gurudza screams in agony, the stuff seems to have burned him on the back.

"I understand now! Letting you leave here alive will result in another failure and I will not tolerate anyone or anything that will hinder my plans, young prince!"

"Funny, I have same thoughts running through my mind!" he says getting up from the ground.

From what she is seeing he does not have enough experience using magic and he is using this battle as a test run.

He stabs the ground with his spear, releasing the magic he had infused like a flood headed for Gwanhoya who levitates to avoid it. He wastes no time releasing the spear from the ground and throwing it at Gwanhoya.

She tries to stop it but fails and it hits her on the chest and he follows through descending lightning from the clouds he assembled. Striking her while she is down causing an earth quack that destroys buildings that are nearby.

Even though there is too much destruction, the law enforcers watching cheer, the demon has been defeated. And the boy falls to the ground.

"Like I said before little boy, I will not let you live so you will hinder my plans!" the dust clears, she used her darkness as shield to block the lightning by concentrating huge amount of it on the point where the lightning stroke.

"With how much of a prodigy you are, leaving you to die on your own would be a big mistake. You might survive and I will regret it later!" she opens her eyes wide controlling the spear with her left hand, "After this I will keep your soul as a trophy and your body as my minion! It would be a waste to see such power vanishing just like that!"

She pauses from what she is doing and smiles. The people behind her are talking in low voices.

"I was wondering when you would show up, young princess. I am glad you are safe and unharmed! Wait there, I have to deal with this small issue before it gets bigger!"

A strong concentrated wind hits Gwanhoya and she falls far from Gurudza's body and the dark smoke is erased alongside the lightning barrier. She gets up quickly to see what it is and there is nothing except for Mukura who has had a change of clothing.

"I can see you have had a makeover, Loving the look," she starts walking back to Gurudza's body, "I can say for sure that you look less primitive than these other people in this new world, princess!"

"And did you by any chance see who hit me, I really hate being disrupted when I am enjoying something."

"Yes, actually I did!" she replies with confidence.

"Well who is it?"

"It is me actually!" Mukura, creates a whirlwind hurling her a long distance from them.

Rushes to Gurudza who is now barely breathing and burning, sweating all over. She hesitates to touch him for some time. But time is running out and Gwanhoya is not going to wait just because she is hesitant. She gathers courage and confidence from within and looks for the area on his body that has been marked.

She finds the mark and the poison is spreading fast. Tears up his shirt and sees a huge and seems to be decaying and growing mark on his back. She moves her palm on it to feel the extent which the poison has cover and it burns her opened palm.

"There is no time for me to extract it, so I will just have to purify it from within you!" she looks up breathes audibly, "I do not know if you can hear me but not hearing would be better right now because I am scared so, you come back to me, okay!?" tears flow from her eyes onto his body.

Her hands begin to glow releasing light into Gurudza's body and the infection starts disappearing. Smiles seeing progress even though it is slow.

A sound like something exploded comes from the direction where Gwanhoya was hurled to. Fear hold her soul strong and her hands are beginning to shake. She struggles fighting off her fright just to rid of the poison Gwanhoya had put inside him.

"I did not thing anyone had the power to sever my blood linking magic and I presume you did not get rid of it yourself!" she puts a serious face circling around me and Gurudza, "Even in the demon realm I have never actually seen a white witch, I was even beginning to think they do not exist! Maybe after I am done I will pay them a visit. That sounds nice right? Except, when I visit I will drown the enchanted forest in blood before I live." She laughs.

"I will not let you harm anyone!"

"Impudent little girl!" she strikes her magic bone stick on the ground, "Do you think you can stop me?"

"I know I can't and you cannot kill me either because you need me for something and if you harm any of them I will kill myself and foil your plans!"

The look on her face hints that she is not playing around, Gwanhoya knows one wrong move she is gone but how did she find out that she needs her for something? This is an unexpected turn of events and maybe she just guessed.

"How bold of you to think I need you for anything!"

"If you did not need me for anything, that smile of yours should have not dimmed and you would not have paused also."

Gwanhoya gets closer to her and put her hand on Mukura's cheek and fondles it with the back of her hand. Mukura is terrified and cannot move.

"Only if that was not true, but I just keep you close to me because you are my descendant!" Gwanhoya lifts her from the ground, "You see I do need something from you! But it does not mean that you have to be alive for me to have it."

Removes her hand from her cheek, holds her stuff with both and drives it into Mukura. She places her hand on her shoulder.

"The only thing I want from you is your blood. So, I better get to work and get as much as I can before there is no more left in you." She smiles closing her eyes, "Looks like someone decided to wake up after all! Took you long enough! Grab me something like a container or a container so that I can fill her blood in it!"

The policeman who had shot her before, has finished his mutation. With hard scale looking brown skin, yellow eyes, with muscular body 7 feet tall, with horns that shape the head going backward and pointy ears. Exhaling steam breathing heavily walking towards Gwanhoya holding a container, growling. With every step the earth feels the weight of the step.

"Good boy!" she praises him like a he is an infant.

She takes the container from him without turning a head, puts Mukura's blood in it. Turns to look at the beast she has created.

"It seems like the mutation tore up your clothing and since your human body was so small that was to be expected," she removes her magic stuff from Mukura's body and it falls to the ground, "Guess we will have to dress you in something new when we reach the cave. Burn this body and as soon as you are done, follow!"

Lightning strikes the beast and she turns and sees the beast crashed to the ground appearing from behind her, Gurudza with white eyes and a pissed off look on him.

"Well, well, well! Look who decided to wake up! Guess I you are tougher than I thought."

Gurudza raises his hand, points it with an open palm towards Gwanhoya who is also preparing to attack now. There is something different about the boy but she cannot put her finger on it.

"It seems you are much more powerful than my disgraceful descendant! Weak until she died, I was ignorant before and did not want to acknowledge you as royalty. Princes back in my day looked fierce and strong!"

"I don't care!" he increases the gravitational force around her causing her to bow down, moves his hand up and down and lightning strikes her down, knocking her out.

"Divine punishment!" he returns back to normal rushes over to Mukura picks up her body and starts walking home.

"If I was still a human being I would have been done for, but I am no longer one and I am tired of these games. That was the last time a human humiliated me!" she screams looking in the sky and her skin changes from red with stripes to a red flame body.

With an enormous amount of power coming from her, Gurudza does not waver. Lays Mukura's body on the side of the road and comes back to face Gwanhoya.

"It seems like you are eager to die you prince!"

"Not if I kill you first demon!"

He forms a lightning bayonet on his hand and throws it in an athletic way, follows behind running. Stretches his hand into the sky and down and lightning descends striking Gwanhoya.

"Demon leech!" she shouts absorbing the lightning into herself and returning it back to Gurudza who returns back into his divine state.

The lightning does not severely damage him but renders him unable to fight. She disappears from his eyes, re- appears behind him and punches him burning his back and he screams in agony with the front of his body touching the ground.

"For a second there, I thought you were going to give me the best fight of my life young prince. But what a disappointment you turned out to be once again." She puts her leg on top of him and presses it on his back hard and he screams louder.

"You see boy! I am not going to make the mistake of leaving you live and breathing this time because another human might come and save you like what my stupid descendant there."

She shoots a fireball on the beast and he awakens, "But before I kill you both, I will make you catch a glimpse of what is to befall these pathetic humans, I do not know why that disgraceful descendant of mine desires to fight for a world that has never loved her, even those people there holding weapons in their hands did not help!"

"Her name is Mukura demon!" he grumbles while in pain.

"Ohh, I forgot she also has a name!"

"You witch! What do you want?!"

"Revenge and the rest does not matter because you will be dead soon, young prince!"

"So, it would not matter if you tell me now would it?"

She looks thoughtful for a second, "I suppose, you are right. I shall tell you then prince, before I make you watch my monster kills all those men there," she points at them, "To make sure they don't escape, immolate them for a greater cause!"

"And what is this greater cause?"

"The end of the human world!" she turns her attention to the beast, "Kill them all!"

The beast jumps and lands inside the crowd in amok.

"You see young prince, the thing I like the most about this era is curiosity!" she squats but does not remove her foot from his back and strokes his head gently.

Her face is lighting up more watching the beast bath in the blood of the humans. But the hand of Gurudza is stretched towards Mukura who is lying lifeless on the ground. His eyes weeping and motionless focused on her. He is unable to bear the guilty and pain of failing her twice.

"I am sorry." Apologises in a low voice.

"How sweet and disgusting!"

"Remove you yourself from that child, demon!" a child's voice comes from everywhere and Gwanhoya hunts for the source where the voice is originating from.

"There is no need for you to search for me," lighting strikes near Mukura's body.

The boy in the golden robe appears on the spot with a fierce look on his face. The two lock eyes and lying on the ground Gurudza looks up to see the person who just appeared and is blocking him from seeing Mukura. A howler

"Are you here to kill me, young god!" she asks, no smile on her face anymore, the light has disappeared.

Raises his hand and the policeman being massacred and the people close by disappear. The beast returns to where Gwanhoya is. Attempts to kill the god but is rendered motionless on the spot.

"It is not my destiny to kill you!" he replies lowering his hand back down slowly.

"Then why are you hear!?" she shouts asking him again.

"I told you to remove yourself from the boy, demon!" he disappears and reappears right in front of her, "But since you are unwilling to comply, I guess I have no choice but to make you do so by force!"

He levitates her slowly into the air, she cannot take control of her own body to fly. He throws her away. Levitate Gurudza, send him to where Mukura's body is. Releases the beast from being frozen in one place and it charges for him and does not move but rather makes the ground swallow it halfway.

Gwanhoya flies back to the scene enraged shoot a huge fireball at him surrounded with darkness. And he nullifies it without even moving a muscle. She attacks him again with a fist but the blow just lands and does nothing.

"I bet now, you can understand that no matter what you become, you will never be able to beat me! Let them raise your rank again in the demon realm, get the power of the devil himself. You will still not be powerful enough to beat me!"

She falls to the ground on her knees, powerless before the young god. Fighting him any further is futile and will only result in her death. And she will not be able to accomplish her mission.

At this moment the thought of being defeated yet again by a human flood her mind. She decides to act quickly to destroy Mukura and Gurudza, pour fire out of her mouth with great speed.

"Your efforts to defy me demon will bear no fruit! For unlike you I am not limited in power." Negates her power, "It is not my destiny to stop you demon, you should thank destiny for I would have ended your pathetic life this instant."

The impact he has made on Gwanhoya is great, striking fear inside. the power difference between her and Gurudza is almost similar and even seems to be way higher. Making any moves anymore might end with her being destroyed so she decides not to try any other attack and watch him as he approaches Gurudza and Mukura's bodies.

She just watches as he disappears with them into thin air.
