Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

In the Luxury Inn

Night had long passed midnight, and glober was still awake in his room, surrounded by three glowing screens, tangled wires, and devices bearing no recognizable brand logos.

His fingers moved with deadly precision over the keyboard as he penetrated network after network without hesitation.

That night, glober breached the CIA's network.

Advanced firewalls, multi-layered encryption systems, real-time monitoring algorithms… all fell before a program he had developed himself over years.

He entered, took what he needed, and left without leaving a single digital trace of his presence.

Among the data he retrieved were schematics for a highly classified weapon.

This weapon would become a decisive advantage against that organization, though its construction would take time… some components were extremely rare. Yet, with access to the black market, it would be feasible—albeit costly.

He didn't stop there.

In the following hours, he hacked several NASA servers, infiltrating restricted research departments and extracting information on experimental chemical compounds and solutions that were never meant to exist outside space laboratories.

glober closed the last window on his screen, smiled faintly, and whispered:

"Planning is complete… time for execution."

He reached out and activated his ability.

Virax insects began forming, one by one, using the same structure he had employed in the gang battle—but this time, they were smaller, more precise, deadlier.

Moments later, a glober clone entered the room.

He had created this clone hours earlier and assigned it a single task: preparing a precisely measured chemical solution.

The clone presented a transparent vial, containing a colorless liquid.

This was the solution derived from the NASA data.

glober calculated the doses with meticulous accuracy, then ordered the Virax insects to absorb the solution, each receiving its precise share.

Once the process was complete, he opened a small hatch and released the insects into the darkness.

Their target was clear:

the location of the car where Number 5 was currently seated.

Minutes later…

Number 5 sat alone in his car, staring at his phone, waiting for a call from his subordinates confirming they had found Kouichi.

Minutes passed slowly… no one called.

He sighed in frustration and checked his phone again.

His eyes widened.

Kouichi had appeared on the bounty list.

A massive reward… nearly five million dollars.

The conditions were clear:

he must be captured alive, or the bounty hunter would get nothing.

Number 5 gave a cold smile and muttered:

"This time… you have nowhere to run."

He called one of his subordinates to prepare for departure.

No answer.

He called again.

Silence.

Tension gripped him.

He slowly drew his gun and looked out the window.

There…

his men were lying on the ground.

He carefully opened the car door and stepped out silently.

Scanning the area, he found it empty—no signs of a struggle, no blood, no sounds.

He knelt by one of his men to check for a pulse.

He was breathing… but unconscious.

Number 5 muttered in disbelief:

"I didn't hear a thing… how…?"

Then—

a sharp pain hit his neck.

He instinctively touched the bite and saw a tiny insect retreating swiftly into the darkness.

Seconds later…

his legs wobbled.

A sudden heaviness swept over his body.

Then… complete paralysis.

He collapsed to the ground, eyes wide open.

Moments before losing consciousness, he saw shadows approaching.

People dressed entirely in black.

Black helmets concealing their faces.

In their hands… metal chains.

And then… everything went black.

The solution used was a highly potent chemical anesthetic,

paralyzing the human body in just three seconds,

and causing total loss of consciousness immediately afterward.

The helmeted men…

were nothing but clones created by glober.

They securely bound Number 5, placed him inside his car, and drove off without leaving a trace.

Elsewhere…

glober sat in his room, in front of his glowing screens.

He studied the data before him, then said calmly:

"Step one… complete."
