The feeling was unique - something unlike Sunny had ever experienced and that was saying something since he had experienced about every grueling sensation the worlds had to offer
initially it felt like soaking in ice cold water - it was an exquisite feeling, an exquisite feeling that disappeared in mere seconds, replacing it - a sensation of pain flooded every fiber of his being, feeling like his body and soul both were being torn to shreds and weaved back together and stitch by stitch
Sunny's face paused a comically blank expression as the realization hit
'Weaver... why can't you just make it hurt less'
Sunny had yet to come to fully - a dizzy spell forming due to the insane amount of pain. the influx of memories of events that had just happened - well the events that will happen in the coming years were crushing his mind causing him to groan and shut his eyes
he held his head, gritting his teeth - the pain was so unbearable that he just sat there paying no attention to the surrounding areas, though that was more likely due to him becoming a supreme and having very few bold enough to harm her
after a few minutes his mind steadied and he raised his head - eyes still closed as he exhaled deeply as a little tear flowed slowly down his pale cheek
How odd it was, all of the pain of the battle, all the blood none of it had managed to bring him to tears and yet the memories of how pathetically everyone died, how his friends died, how Nehphis died and a certain divine level feat
'I killed an unholy titan'
It wasn't a small feat in fact words like big or even gigantic were still insufficient. The only other known to have defeated a being of such devastating power was one who shared an equally devastating reputation being the Daemon of dread and all.
But sunny did not want to call it a victory. After all his victory came at the cost of all life across the realms. What use was a victory if there was no one to celebrate it with ?
He pulled his mind away from the disheartening thoughts and focused on something else. Something that had most likely surprised him the most.
The spell
The very spell that he had been disconnected from after the events of the 3rd nightmare and that dammed birds involvement so how exactly did it connect to him one more.
He was a fate less being and so the threads of the spell couldn't affect him.
But was that really the case ?
From what sunny understood an unholy titan was not supposed to come down to earth from wherever it was in the first place. It was because of a powerful being who was not connected to fate causing ripples in its web. Causing fate to intervene
So was it really impossible for the spell to get involved
Or perhaps it was because of Weaver ?
Another thing plagued his mind
'what was the spell talking about while I was screaming my lungs out... A memory? Attribute? What was it....'
Sunny did not know
No matter how much he wracked his mind the only things he knew was that it was called the [Chance Of Peace] and that it would allow him to return
He didn't hear much aside from how he had met certain conditions and that he was gifted by the gods.
That's all he remembered through the hellish pain and the tortured screams he, himself produced.
After a while his mind had finally recalled all the events before he was blacking out. And especially those deep boundless voices he heard. He knew weavers voice so that was a given because of his time in the death game. But then shadow got spoke to and then he was here...
'where is here and what's in my hand....'
Sunny opened his eyes looking at the object in his hand. It was made of plastic and had a brown lid on it. Sunny smelt the strong scent of coffee as the warm steam floated away leisurely
He looked at his surroundings and saw that he was in shabby clothes sitting on a wooden bench but the thing that hit him the most
'why am I so tired'
He was starting to get annoyed. So many questions not a single answer. But then he looked directly in front of him and his eyes widened.
The police station
'this.... This was the day I entered my first nightmare'
His heart pounded as his mind rushed again . Thoughts flooding his mind. How? Why? Was it real?
Sunny closed his eyes again breathing the stale air of NQSC and the bitter smell of the coffee
When he opened his eyes again he looked up let out a long sigh his mind had come to terms with many things in a matter of moments. He did technically posses the mind of a supreme after all
"so... I was supposed to be Shadow God's heir and that drop of ichor would have gotten rid of my slave status"
Sunny stopped and gritted his teeth
"if it wasn't for weavers meddling and his lineage"
But the truth was that sunny didn't despise weaver or his weave lineage. It saved him in more times than one and he knew how powerful it was.
"how wonderful it would be to have both"
Sunny had been thinking to himself with great detail. As if he here talking to someone. Realistically speaking he thought he was talking to his shadows
Well not shadows it was a singular shadow now A shadow that didn't even have a consciousness as yet
'I don't have you guys yet. Well not to worry... I'll get all of you guys back and I'll get you back much sooner than later'
Sunny understood just how great an advantage he had with knowledge of the future in his grasp. Sunny knew everything that was going to happen
The forgotten shore. Antarctica. Chain of nightmares. His second and third nightmares. All of it
He could change everything. Make everything better. Save more people. Live better
Sunny wiped his face his eyes that just recently had tears in them shone with a light. A light of determination
'I'm not going to make the same mistakes . I'm not going to be so helpless again'
Sunny drank coffee sitting in his cup and woke up from the old bench and made his way towards the police station
Sunny slowly sipped the bitter coffee. He was not even able taste anything. After all he was trying something but he unfortunately failed.
'I'm going to have to finish this 1st Nightmare so I can access the spell'
After failing at that sunny noticed something wrong with his body. It was not a bad kind of wrong just out of place
Sunny knew that at this time he was quite malnourished and weak his body looking fragile. But now his body. Yes it was still short but it seemed to be really fit. Like a nimble acrobat. His muscles were slightly more defined
Other Changes included the hair in his head. Smooth as silk flowing a finger length below his shoulders. He felt stronger too and his body had more stamina too.
Looking into the door of police station sunny shuddered at his own eyes.
His pale skin only illuminated them
2 dark pools of darkness as if an endless abyss rested within
Sunny's appearance was that of an. Awakened. Possibly rivalling an ascended who was on the less perfect group
But that was not all. Sunny could feel the shadows around him.
How they almost seemed to lean in his direction. Their cold embrace welcoming. Filled with longing
Sunny wanted to dwell on these developments a while longer . Try and determine the cause of this change as well as his capabilities
But he couldn't. The first nightmare brought a deadly sleepiness over its champions and so even the cup of coffee he just drank had no effect in the slightest
Sunny pushed open the doors of the police station and walked inside. His steps and very presence couldn't be heard or seen. He walked through a hall and eventually met a policeman walking by.
After some greetings the man allowed Sunny's wish to visit the area where infected are held
Sunny walked through the halls with the man all
Upon reaching the room sunny there around sat a few people. When their eyes landed on. Sunny he got a magnitude of curious looks. Not bad just intrigued
'they probably think I'm an awakened'
It was not an illogical assumption given his looks and sense of confidence
But sunny wouldn't let the peace be. Smiling slightly, he yawned and spoke
"Hello, I believe I'm infected with the nightmare spell, and I would like to turn myself in"
Suddenly the mood had come to a complete 180
The once looks of adoration he got became strained nervous and forced
It was a natural reaction after all. If sunny was to fail his nightmare these police were almost 100% sure to die. Especially without an awakened nearby.
Even if they were just regular mundane humans they were still policemen and women.
They moved sunny to the same structure he was tied to and laid him down. Strapping him down.
They quickly began to explain the steps he would need to take, what he would need to do and the precautions he would need to take.
Sunny of course was not listening to them at all. He had already been through this before and he knew exactly what to do. After the events after his first nightmare up to the time he pecame a supreme sunny was not afraid of a measly first nightmare or the mundane and awakened beings hiding within.
Once Sunny gave in his details the police couldn't help but be shocked once more. The boy they believed to be a lofty legacy who maybe ran away from their clan to come to the police station for whatever reason was a mere street rat
But rather then the usual disgust that outskirt inhabitants got they couldn't look at sunny like that. And they didn't know why.
After all he was a street rat, barely any food eaten, no formal training, no one to have guided him - to them sunny was almost destined to die there and become a nightmare creature that would most likely kill them
But they could feel it
A air about the boy like he knew exactly what he was doing. The confidence he carried into a trial that even legacies showed slight fear to was unreal as if he already was sure of his success.
It was most likely fates doing but sunny was again speaking to the officer that led him through the first nightmare crash course. Asking him to succeed or hold out as long as possible
"I don't wish to seem rude Child . But if you are to fail many including myself will die."
Sunny simply smiled
"I have no intention of dying today you know"
Those were his last words before he succumbed to the sleepiness. His smile involuntarily being spread to the faces of the officers around him
And once more just like all those years ago. Sunny heard it again. A voice so familiar uttering words that made him feel ancient. Words so familiar yet so strange
[Aspirant welcome to the first Nightmare. Prepare for your trial]
'The last time I went in accepting death. This time it will be different. It will all be different'
