A new day soon arrived.
Despite the hard work of the previous night, Heavenly Dao felt unusually energetic. The reward he had received—an enhancement to his Yang Release Chakra—was already showing clear effects.
Unlike improvements to elemental chakra attributes such as water, fire, earth, wind, or lightning, Yang Release directly strengthened physical energy. The results were immediate and obvious.
His speed had increased.
His strength had risen noticeably.
His endurance had improved across the board.
More importantly, physical energy and spiritual energy complemented each other. With the two reinforcing one another, Heavenly Dao's overall chakra reserves had increased by nearly fifty percent.
By his own rough estimation, his current strength was equivalent to about two and a half Kakashis.
After washing up, Heavenly Dao bought two breakfasts from a nearby shop. He brought one back home and placed it gently beside the bed.
Yūgao Uzuki was still asleep.
Her expression carried traces of exhaustion mixed with faint satisfaction. It was clear that she had expended far too much physical energy the night before.
Heavenly Dao didn't wake her. After setting the food down, he ate his own breakfast while reviewing the rewards he had obtained from his recent missions.
In terms of bloodlines, he now possessed the Two-Tomoe Sharingan and the Byakugan, both of which came with significant physique bonuses. He had also gained three additional chakra attributes: Water Release, Fire Release, and Yang Release.
Beyond raw numerical improvements, there were skill-based rewards as well—Konoha-style Taijutsu, Konoha-style Kenjutsu, and powerful Ninjutsu such as Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation.
At present, four missions remained incomplete.
One required him to help Hinata Hyuga build self-confidence.
Another was to obtain the title of Special Jonin.
The third involved resolving Kurenai Yuhi's troubles.
And the last—perhaps the most important—was reclaiming the Uchiha Clan's legacy.
The latter three would take time and careful planning. For now, Heavenly Dao decided to begin with the first mission.
Helping Hinata.
He arrived at the Ninja Academy early.
Previously, the Third Hokage had invited him to serve as a part-time combat instructor. His schedule was light—two days a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Heavenly Dao had already decided on a teaching method. Mondays would focus on instruction and technique practice, while Fridays would be used for assessment, usually through sparring or combat simulations.
"Good morning, students," Heavenly Dao greeted them cheerfully.
"Good morning, Teacher Heavenly Dao!"
The first voice to respond belonged to Ino Yamanaka. The blonde girl was as energetic as ever, always quick to support him.
Nearby, Hinata Hyuga was also paying close attention.
Though she appeared shy and withdrawn on the surface, Hinata was extremely sensitive and emotionally perceptive. She remembered every small kindness shown to her.
Much like in the original story—where Naruto once helped her chase away bullies and earned her lifelong devotion—Hinata was someone who repaid kindness sincerely.
Heavenly Dao's encouragement during the previous week had clearly left an impression. His expectations warmed her heart, and she didn't want to disappoint him.
Still, her timid personality prevented her from being as outgoing as Ino. She stayed quietly in her corner, watching Heavenly Dao's every movement with focused eyes.
"Bad uncle! Are we doing combat matches today? I want to challenge you too!"
A familiar blond troublemaker jumped forward.
Uzumaki Naruto.
This idiot had a habit of giving people random nicknames, just as Jiraiya had suffered in the original timeline.
Without hesitation, Heavenly Dao suppressed him with a firm knock on the head, preventing any damage to his reputation.
"There's no combat session today," Heavenly Dao said calmly. "Today's lesson is about physical fitness testing."
"Eh? That's so boring…" Naruto complained, his voice muffled beneath Heavenly Dao's grip.
Ignoring him completely, Heavenly Dao continued.
"Real combat is nothing like the games you play at the Academy. You must not only observe your opponent's condition—you also need to understand your own limits."
"There were countless cases during previous Ninja World Wars where rookies rushed into battle, burned through their stamina too quickly, and were killed during retreat simply because they had no energy left."
"So today's class is about learning to control yourselves."
He paused, letting the words sink in.
"As the saying goes: Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated."
"You'll be able to compare your results to one of my seniors—Kakashi Hatake—to see how many 'Kakashis' you're worth."
"Let's begin."
"Oh, and if you've already completed similar tests before, you're free to relax for the rest of the class."
The moment he finished speaking, students from ninja clans reacted with excitement.
These tests were routine within their families. Only civilian-born students lacked such structured training.
"What the hell?! You guys did these tests already?!"
Naruto stared at Sasuke Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi, and the others stepping forward with a look of betrayal.
"Even you, Kiba?!"
"What do you mean even?" Kiba Inuzuka snapped back smugly. "You idiot, Naruto!"
Heavenly Dao ignored the commotion.
At that moment, Sasuke walked up to him and handed over a stack of scrolls.
"These are copies of some Ninjutsu scrolls from the clan," Sasuke said flatly. "A thank-you for your guidance."
"Oh? You really shouldn't have."
Despite his words, Heavenly Dao accepted them with lightning speed, tucking them into his robe with a bright smile.
"Come with me," he said. "We'll continue training."
Leaving behind a shadow clone to supervise the noisy class, Heavenly Dao led Sasuke to a nearby pond in the training grounds.
"After Tree Climbing, the next step is Water Walking," Heavenly Dao said seriously.
"This technique is a foundation of Konoha. Ordinary people don't get the chance to learn it."
"Tree Climbing and Water Walking operate on the same principle. You must precisely control chakra output to the soles of your feet, forming a thin, stable chakra film to support your body."
He paused.
"But Water Walking is harder. Water is fluid. Your chakra output must constantly adjust. Even a momentary imbalance will cause you to sink."
Sasuke nodded, his eyes sharp with concentration.
Having already experienced the benefits of improved chakra control, he asked no further questions. He stepped onto the pond's edge, took a deep breath, and lightly tapped the water with his toes.
Splash!
Water exploded upward as Sasuke immediately sank, leaving behind only bubbles.
"Pfft."
Heavenly Dao barely held back his laughter.
Sasuke scrambled back onto shore, soaked and glaring.
"It's always like that the first time," Heavenly Dao said, offering advice at last. "Try using your palms first to feel the water's resistance."
Sasuke wiped water from his face, looking at him speechlessly.
This man clearly enjoyed watching others embarrass themselves before offering guidance.
At that moment, Ino Yamanaka approached.
As the daughter of the Yamanaka Clan Head, she was already familiar with physical tests and chakra exercises. Seeing Heavenly Dao train Sasuke alone, curiosity got the better of her.
"Teacher Heavenly Dao, can I try too?" she asked brightly, eyes sparkling.
[New Mission Detected]
[Diplomacy is also part of clan revival. Befriend the Yamanaka Clan and help train Ino Yamanaka.]
[Mission Reward: Secret Technique — Mind Transfer Jutsu]
Heavenly Dao glanced at the notification and chuckled inwardly.
As expected. The bait worked perfectly.
He had intentionally brought Sasuke here to trigger a mission. Ino's curiosity had done the rest.
"Ino, you're doing quite well already," Heavenly Dao said kindly. "This training focuses on chakra control."
"Have you practiced Tree Climbing before? That's the first step."
He pointed to several thick trees nearby.
"The method is simple. Attach chakra to the soles of your feet and walk straight up."
Ino took a deep breath and jogged forward. Concentrating carefully, she stepped onto the trunk.
One step.
Two steps.
Three… four… five—
She slipped and slid back down.
Heavenly Dao nodded in understanding.
In the original story, Ino had gone on to study Medical Ninjutsu under Tsunade. Her chakra control talent was genuine.
And this was only the beginning.
