Chapter 15 - Division

The footsteps of someone's calm gait, echoed through the silent hall. Terror had gripped the minds of so many people, that they forgot how to think.

Few however still had their reasoning and just stared fearful towards Arthur. Masking his subtle uncertainty in what he just did, he walked over to the principal's desk threw and down her dead body.

Casually sat he on her chair, declarating for the second time, his authority. "Argggghhhh!!! That wasn't the god-damned plan." Peter screamed touching the female vice principal's lifeless body.

"We never agreed on anything, I asked for a plan, you couldn't give a reasonable one, so I acted on what I knew was best." He said with a clear voice portraying no remorse.

Peter touch the vice principal's gunshot wound. His hand trembling as he felt warm blood cascade onto it. Before he could speak three boys walked up to them.

"What the fuck got into you, why did you just murder the entire school authority." Ethan questioned, "What happened to consulting the group first." Arthur added.

Not waiting for a reply, Ethan shot forward. His forehead striking against Arthur's nose. Flying with raw force, Arthur hit the wall and fell to buttom.

He had predicted that attack but allowed it. He was durable enough to withstand it so why couldn't he let one of his closest friend vent out his frustration. Any decisions Arthur took still affected him deeply.

Sitting he wiped his bleeding nose while still sitting on the cold tiled ground. "The group was consulted besides its decision would lead us nowhere." "I agree with Arthur." Julian said shocking the entire hall.

Hearing those words Peter threw a reckless punch which Arthur easily caught. "You agree with this bastard, your insane, you're all insane, four of you. From the moment I saw you guys I knew I shouldn't trust you guys."

Shoving the fist away Arthur stood, carried the principal's chair up and sat on it again."What then do you think was the best course of action?" Peter stared at him with a hateful expression.

He breathed in and calmed himself, his expression was calmer now but Arthur could sense the malice in his presence and words. "They could have been reasoned with."

" Right before you came and did this, I had reached an agreement to serve the principal and the school authority. " Peter said crumbling a piece of paper in his hands.

Continuing he explained,"That way we all get what we want, we are all kids Arthur, these people you killed like animals, they have seen the world more than us.

They have better experience and the given initiative to survive. Now their dead do you think we could lead ourselves as just as they would." Arthur stared at him with an uncaring expression.

Chuckling in a restrained manner, he spoke his beginning tone sarcastic. "Is that what you think, is that your mentality on survival. This is an apocalypse, not war, not a political or religious attack, not even a terrorist attack.

This is the end of the world, the collapse of reality, the misalignment of logic, laws and nature. We the young ones are at the center of this change, we are the ones to rebuild a new order in this desolate world.

It isn't for use to rely on the older ones to control our actions and decide our paths. That is our duty, anything I did wasn't in a fit of emotions, my actions were planned carefully, they all are."

When his short speech was done, silence followed. A very long silence. Through out this time Arthur and Peter were locked in a fierce state, no one blinked nor spoke.

Their eyes decided everything.

"I would never forgive you for this." Peter said his fist tightly clenched. Calmly Arthur replied, "I didn't expect you to." Ethan and everyone present in the gathering threw worried glances at the duo.

A few more minutes of silence passed before Arthur looked at the gathering of seniors around the council sitting. "Clear out these bodies."

No one moved until he dropped the gun in his hand on the bloody table, then they realized why they should obey him. "Do you think you're now the leader." Peter asked

"Do you have any objections." Arthur asked his full attention on the bodies that were being lowered to the ground. "Yes I strongly object." Peter added.

"I object as well." Arthur didn't look up when Peter objected but he turned once he heard the female voice who just spoke. She was the same one who had advised him on the Pale eyed moles toxicity.

Before he could respond another boy walked out of the seated students, "I wouldn't reside under your leadership." Everyone in the gathering immediately stopped what ever they were doing and cleared.

Arthur was left staring at three defiant opposers before him. Looking over at Caelith's position, he found the girl still seated besides his bags of firearms and ammunition.

He couldn't tell her expression due to distance and now he didn't care what ever her views on his actions might be. Stretching his left hand towards her position, his bags quickly flew over to him.

Dropping the bags on the table, Arthur unzipped the one containing ammunition and reloaded the gun on the table. Fear with was quietly fading away returned with full intensity.

His friends slowly closed the distance to stop him from doing anything rash. When he was done reloading he looked up at the trio, his expression neutral, his eyes almost shut.

With sigh he rose from the chair, his gun still in his left hand. The desks before him parted for him to pass as he didn't want to walk around the seating or jump over the desks.

"You really think you have what it takes to rule." He said standing right in front of them, too close even. None answered then he focused on the girl.

"What's your name."

" Iris Kael." Turning to the other boy he gave him an expression requesting his name. "Dante Moor." "What are the name of your schools?" Arthur asked his presence becoming a bit fearful.

"She's from Standard Limit high school which was my grandparents school, He's from Alveon senior high." Peter answered folding his arms, waiting for Arthur's next move.

Walking passed them he faced the entire hall of almost a thousand teenage survivors. "Alright everyone, for the freedom of will, I shall allow each and everyone present to choose whom the wish to follow."
