Chapter 1 - Chaos Emergence

The sun's rays burned his eyes as he intently stared at it. If anyone saw him, they would think he had gone crazy, however he was just overwhelmed by boredom.

Maybe that had truly made him mad.

Exactly six foot nine, muscular athletic physique, a spikey fade haircut, sharp predator eyes and a symmetrical face. Arthur wasn't exactly drop dead gorgeous, he was just stunning enough to attract unwanted attention instantly.

" Dude! What are you doing over there, the principal wants an audience with us." A voice called out to him. He turned and looked at David, his classmate and the school's head boy.

Arthur sighed, " Can I skip it? " " Nope." David replied almost instantly. Dejectedly Arthur followed, walking down the stairs of the hall the final year students used as their classroom.

The hall was quite spacious, large enough to contain over a thousand students. Yet it was divided into two sections, the science and the art.

Arthur belonged to the science, not because he could brag about being as intelligent as he was when he was in junior high.

But because he felt the art section was to easy for him, and the science hard enough to make him strive.

Yet he didn't strive or take anything serious, despite being the first child of his parents. Life was merely a gentle breeze to him, a breeze which would carry him in its flow.

The only thing which gave him purpose was fighting and causing pain to others. Although he hid his sadistic nature under a convincing smile, those around him knew the demon underneath.

Caring only for himself was a trait everyone knew. Always wanting to cause others deep pain, this was what made juniors dread and hate him so much.

Walking side by side with the head boy, another sadistic being, terror squeezed the hearts of juniors. 'Sigh, get me out of this mess dear God.' Outside the staff office he instantly spotted the aging female principal.

Besides her were the male and female vice principals, Arthur didn't bother to know who was the administration or academic. He just knew them as vice principals.

Before the leading trio of Macbeth Senior High were the school's current prefects. "With the head boy and disciplinary senior here we shall commence."

Arthur started at everyone present, he gaze lingering on a particular girl before looking up to the principal. 'Fool had to keep me under this scorching sun and blab nonsense into my ear.' he thought listening to the announcement.

"The school is holding its annual sports competition, so you all are needed to lead the students to the hall. " Mrs Lovett instructed. " David, you and the disciplinary senior bring anyone how tries to misbehave directly to me."

Coughing lightly, " The rest of you are to stick to directing the students, I don't need anyone one running about hitting juniors indiscriminately." After say that Arthur lost track of what she was saying and stared at the sky.

' Is it just me or are the clouds disappearing.' Indeed the clouds were vanishing and the sun was getting hotter. Before he could think deeply into it, David pulled him by the arm.

" Quit daydreaming bro, the sophomores would get rebellious. Prepare for a confrontation." David said patting him on the back.

David left but he stood holding his head. For some reason his ear was ringing, he shook his head and walked over to his assigned post.

The school had a unique structure, the first year and second year block was built in a L format. Standing a few meters away besides the hall one would be facing the second year block.

Originally the hall was owned by the middle school section, which it was still connected to. But due to lack of space, the senior section annexed it and it became a classroom for the third years.

Looking at the orderly line of second years coming out directly from their classrooms, Arthur grew bored. His job was mostly inexistent as the students remained in order for most of the time.

While he stood joblessly someone walked up to him and stood by his side.

" Arthur, mother told me to inform you that she was going on a journey with the twins." Turning to look at his immediate younger brother, his lips curled upwards." So it's gaming all night."

His brother Evans smiled, " You know I will whoop your arse in Geo Warfare." Arthur laughed, " You wish, get going before a senior sees you here."

Whistling happily the younger boy shoved his hands in his pockets and walked back to his classroom. ' Wasn't he supposed to join the line.' Arthur instantly erased his happy expression.

About a few minutes after his brother left, a loud noise resounded in one of the classes of the second year block.

' Sheeps can't remain obedient.' As fast as a dart he dashed towards the distant second year learning facility. From a distant he could already see the David and some other prefects engaging some male sophomores.

Within the following seconds, his fist descended, striking a boy across the jaw. A pained screech followed with a loud shout, " He's here, run, He's here. "

But it was too late, Arthur's limbs moved at quicker reflexes, striking multiple people before they could comprehend who had arrived.

He tripped and brutally kicked some of the sophomores, but used his fist solely for his first target.

Henry, the labour prefect pushed him away from hitting innocent people in the process, or maybe fellow prefects. " What the hell is going on." Arthur asked the burly boy letting the hurting boy run away.

" A fool challenged David, when he told him to stop copying notes and move to the hall." Arthur cracked his neck, his face stern. " Continue from here I would handle him."

He walked towards the gathering of a few prefects. David stood in their presence, interrogating the accused student. Arthur however didn't interrogate, he acted with his will.

Dragging the boy up by the collar he shoved him away from the gathering of the seniors. Arthur threw a punch sending the boy to the ground, he immediately followed with a kick but was soon held back by David.

"The principal ordered for you, leave him, and remember what happened the last time a senior did this." David said with a voice of authority, his hand on Arthur's chest.

'Sigh, fuckin joy killer .' Giving one last look to the rebellious junior, Arthur left to the hall, he looked at the year one block and saw Evans casually laughing with some girls.

'Idiot better be quick before he gets his own trashing.' He thought walking past the year one block.

Few paces away from the hall's entrance, a loud resonance shook the earth. He felt lighter as if gravity itself had given up. Ripples of sound traveled slowly as if the strings of time were severed.

Momentarily… Or for a period of time which Arthur couldn't comprehend, everything went black and silent. He could think, move nor feel, akin to him not existing at all.

When he regained consciousness, he was lying on the sandy ground, a dreadful headache drilling through his brain.

His limbs felt weak, and his thoughts and actions were delayed. In general he felt extremely alien, as if he wasn't in his own body.

Managing to rise, his vision was a bit distorted. He saw students running into and out of the hall. He staggering to the four step stairs leading to the hall.

Slowly his perception was normalizing, however that wasn't something to celebrate about. A group of sophomores rushed past him, knocking him down the stairs and back to the ground.

Pain echoed through his being as he rolled like a worm in salt.

He rose but he didn't attempt to climb into the hall instead he sat leaning against the building. His had clasped against his ears which rang like medieval church bells.

"Arthur!!!" Someone called out to him, looking at the chaos of fleeing humans, he saw a familiar face. ' Ethan.' Before he could reach out, a second resonance shook reality.

Time stretched simultaneously with the resonance and Ethan his closest friend who just called out to him, was nowhere to be seen.

The crowd itself had diminished as if they had disappeared, whereas Arthur and the remaining people present just witnessed time slower than the vanished people.

The supposed vanished people had long gone out of the school or into the hall. Arthur grabbed unto a running person and pulled himself up. His head ached still and his body still felt alien.

He witnessed reality as a contorting illusion, when he took his first step he couldn't decide where to go. It was as he stood watching people flee for their lives, he saw what fractured him forever.

Evans staggered out the bend leading to the hall, his left arm mangled and bloodied. Moving slowly besides the first year block and towards the hall, Arthur looked up to see multiple ripples appear in the sky.

It was akin to the sea becoming the sky, but that wasn't the case. In an instant a huge ripple fell. With a sonic bang the building besides Evans was shredded to ruins and a last standing wall fell on Evans.

The younger boy's entire body was crushed instantly, and he died the death of an aunt. His dreams to spend more time with his elder brother was crushed with consciousness.

And that signalled the rain of gravity.

All Arthur did was stand and watch his brother turn into a paste of flesh and blood. His eyes widened from shock as he turned around watching gravity slam directly into the earth, crushing people in the process.

He saw David running into the hall, a petty girl who had been behind him got crushed before she could ascended the stairs to the hall.

Henry had decided to run to the backyard of the school's compound; he tripped and fell gracelessly. He wasn't allowed to rise and lost half his body to a gravity pulse.

Dropping hopelessly to his knees, Arthur looked up at a pulse falling directly at him. He had already accepted death.
