"Piplup!" Piplup obeyed instantly, unleashing her potential. Water surged around her like a whirlpool.
"Super Torrent" was just her Torrent Ability.
As a Pokémon hacked by Li Yuan, dual Abilities were standard.
"Not bad. You pass. Now show me your full strength." Sabrina acknowledged Piplup's strength and mentally awarded the badge.
Gym battles weren't about winning; they were about earning recognition. Piplup's Super Torrent gave her a huge advantage over peers. No reason to fail her.
"Okay! Piplup, Jet Punch!" Dawn ordered.
Piplup understood immediately. She ran circles around Wobbuffet, looking for an opening.
But Wobbuffet ignored her, standing still like Sabrina.
Seeing no panic, Piplup aimed for its back and launched herself with speed rivaling Quick Attack.
Wobbuffet ignored her because it had spread a psychic wave around itself. Anything crossing the wave revealed its position instantly.
So Wobbuffet calmly used its signature move: Counter! (Reflecting physical damage with double power).
Of course, it had to survive the hit first.
Veteran-rank attacks were hard to resist. Especially with Super Torrent, Jet Punch's power reached a staggering 150.
150 Power priority move? Can you believe it?
Of course, Piplup couldn't learn Jet Punch naturally. Li Yuan taught her.
"Endure." Seeing Wobbuffet pushed back, purple light flashed in Sabrina's eyes.
Terrifying psychic power surged from Sabrina into Wobbuffet.
