Light Within Humans:
All humans possess a natural light within themselves that allows for protection against Zierel. The darkness itself is also ineffective against humans since the power itself provides a barrier of sorts.
Humans typically will die from Zierel due to the inability to awaken this light, leading to infected humans and death.
Airi said that we call it awakenings instead of light which is true.
This light is something I've seen multiple times because of Tess, but I never could do anything with it because of the infection.
Airi did elaborate on it telling me that the infection rarely can handle the host trying to awaken. Leading to a constant battle back and forth with the infection and the host.
It makes a lot of sense why it isn't able to just take over completely.
Light = Awakenings/Power within a human.
It also keeps humans safe if they can awaken this in time. Examples being powers or magic to fight off the monsters.
Powers: It varies on the soul of the human upon awakening. The stronger the soul, the stronger the power.
Magic: Magic is determined differently from powers due to the nature of it. A human is guaranteed to be good with at least one element while having to learn others.
"I might need you to elaborate a bit more on this magic stuff and the powers," I say while looking up from my notes.
