Chapter 12
She rolled her eyes. Kai came close and kissed her. Surprisingly, when he kissed her, the only person she thought about was Christian. Even kissing Kai felt like kissing him. She pulled away from the kiss.
Christian stood in the doorway, flowers in hand. He saw everything.
"Christian I..." she started, but he stopped her mid-sentence.
"I saw everything. Kai, if I'm not wrong... stay the fuck clear off my lady! Next time I find you close to her, I'll hurt you... badly!"
Brenda had never seen Christian so angry.
"I'd love to see that!" Kai shot back.
Brenda knew a fight was about to break out if she didn't intervene.
"Kai, leave!" she commanded. He obeyed.
Brenda turned to Christian, shame burning in her chest.
"Christian, I'm sorry... I don't know how I let myself get kissed by him."
Christian was silent,he lifted her. He carried her upstairs, gently putting her down.
"Sit on the bed." His voice held authority.
She obeyed.
"So, because I didn't have sex with you yesterday, you had to turn to Kai?"
"No, I did not!"
"If it's sex that keeps you in one place, then so be it!"
Christian undressed in front of her. He pulled down his pants, revealing his dick. Brenda's eyes widened at how girthy it was. Bigger than Kai's. She cleared her throat and tilted her head side to side, wondering if she could take all that. This Adam right here was created.
She stood up and kissed him. Christian was the one undressing her now. Her buttons took too long to come undone, so he just ripped her dress. Slowly, carefully, he led her to the bed, pulling away from the kiss.
"I'm not gay," he reminded her.
He kissed her so deeply she almost ran out of breath.
"Let's spice things up!"
"How?"
"Any sexual fantasies? We can do them right now!"
Brenda loved Christian's energy. Commanding but gentle. He actually asked what she wanted or wanted to add to the fun—unlike Kai.
"Well… I've never been suspended from the ceiling... I've always wanted to try that," she whispered, coming closer with each word.
Christian smiled and kissed her. He looked around but there was no comfortable place for that, so he chose something better.
"How about tying your hands... to keep you in place?" Christian asked, more like telling her. She nodded.
He carried her to the kitchen. He wanted to fuck her there.
He took a cable tie and tied her hands. Brenda was surprised how a kind guy could be this nasty when she felt his finger play with her other lips. She opened her legs wide and raised her head to see what was happening. Christian sat on a chair, staring at her coochie, biting his lower lip.
He put big headphones on her ears, loud music blasting.
"Ahh..." she moaned as his soft tongue caressed her clit. One hand pressed on her belly button, while the other spread the pleasure inside her.
"Christian, I'm... I'm... ahh," her voice breaking, ready to orgasm, when he rose from the chair and took the headphones off.
Brenda sighed loudly but smiled at him. He dug his two fingers in, sliding smoothly, aided by her juices. She moaned.
"I'll make you forget you had someone before me!"
She couldn't wait to feel him inside her. As if reading her thoughts, he looked deep into her eyes.
"Hold your breath!"
She felt his dick on her coochie lips, drew in a breath—and then he invaded her. She really had to hold her breath.
"Ahh..." she moaned. Brenda's walls surrendered to his might. The friction made the sex feel a little painful but mostly pleasurable. No pain, no gain, right?
Christian's hands gripped her legs, straightening them up to his chest so her feet hung on his shoulders.
He grunted and whimpered. Brenda's privates were in full jubilation. Christian was gentle; they weren't fucking—they were making love.
Brenda had mad orgasms—four of her toes cracked from the uncoordinated movements.
Afterward, they went upstairs and lay on the bed.
"That was heavenly... thank you!" Brenda reached out and kissed Christian.
"Now that we've had sex, allow me to love you... allow me to be everything you've ever wished for in a man. Let me show you real love—a side you've never seen," Christian said, looking attentively at her face.
"Are you sure? Christian, I'm complicated! I'm not perfect."
"Nobody is. You're a lot of things, and that's what draws me closer to you every passing moment."
Brenda was speechless. Christian was asking her to be his girlfriend, to be in a relationship.
"Such words for a relationship, wow! Okay. I'll be your woman friend. I'm too old to be called a girlfriend." She smiled.
Christian was extremely happy. This meant they would both be faithful to each other.
"No lies. I don't want honesty—I need transparency. I hope you know what that is," Brenda laid out her expectations.
"I do. I expect the same from you. And tell Kai to stay clear. I wouldn't want any trouble with him."
Brenda said nothing. She was waiting for the future to unfold, but she knew Christian was a good man—and hurting him might send her name straight into the book of death.
They took a shower together and got dressed. As they walked down the flight of stairs, Brenda's phone rang. It was her Nana.
"Hello, Nana!"
"How are you doing, dewdrop?"
"I'm okay! How about you and Papa? Everything alright over there?"
"We're fine. Your Papa just wants you to come over for the weekend, if your schedule isn't too packed."
"Absolutely. I'll be there. Love you!"
"Nana?" Christian asked.
"Yeah—Nana. She's my grandmother."
They walked to the car. Christian got in and leaned out of the window.
"Take care," he said.
"How busy are you this weekend?" she asked.
"I'm not busy at all. Need anything?"
"Yeah, actually. I need you to accompany me to my Nana's house."
"Where's that?"
"Potomac."
"I'll call you later once Elijah agrees to be left behind."
"Sure."
She watched his car fade into the blocks. She was excited—and a bit scared—about why Papa wanted her in Potomac.
She texted Greg:
I'll be going to Potomac for some time. Manage my office, and before you sign, grant, or approve anything, consult me first.
Later that day, Nella came over—dressed fancy for the first time.
"Uhmm… I like the style," Brenda said honestly. "It really looks good. The pearls on the sleeves make it so elegant."
"Well, thank you! It wasn't really my idea, by the way." Nella laughed.
Nella wasn't one for fancy clothes, even though she had the money. She preferred simplicity.
"All in all, you look fantastic. I'm really drawn to the pearls."
"It was Paul's idea. You said you're going to Potomac this weekend—anything wrong?"
"No. Nana just wants to see me. And if God wills it, I'll be accompanied by Christian." She stared out through the glass wall.
"In as much as I support whatever you do, I need to ask—are you really sure about Christian?" Nella searched her eyes carefully.
"What do you mean?"
"Christian is a very nice man. I'd hate it if you were using him to pass time or to forget Kai. He doesn't deserve that."
Brenda drew in a sharp breath. She wasn't completely over Kai. Christian was slowly filling the hole Kai had punched through her heart.
"You're right. I honestly think Christian and I are going to work. I'm sure of it." She smiled.
Christian called that evening.
"You're lucky—Elijah agreed!"
"Thank God. So how was your day?"
"Boring. I couldn't stop thinking about what we did… I want a rematch."
Brenda laughed so hard her stomach hurt.
"We weren't fighting—there's no rematch!"
"I want to feel what I felt again…"
A knock.
"Oh, Christian, give me a minute. Someone's at my door." She walked toward it, still on the phone. To her surprise, it was Simone.
"Babe, let me call you back later. Simone's here."
Brenda inhaled deeply before opening the door—scared and surprised all at once.
Simone threw her bag onto the couch and remained standing.
"Please, have a seat," Brenda offered.
Simone sat, placing her bag on the coffee table.
"Cut the formalities. You know why I'm here," she said, her tone heavy with trouble.
"What do you want?" Brenda matched her energy.
Simone's eyes wandered, scanning the house.
"I'm Kai's wife. I know you and Kai have history, but now he's with me. What you had is in the past. It's my turn now—so stay away from us."
"So you drove all the way from your house just to tell me this? You wasted gas and drove that tacky car of yours here just for this?" Brenda asked, stunned—and embarrassed for her.
"I'm warning you, Brenda Belair. I will hurt you if you don't get away from him."
"People like you aren't worthy of uttering my last name. Instead of wasting your time coming here, you should've stayed home and told your husband to stay the fuck away from me. Because I, darling, have a man!"
"This is the last time I warn you. Stay away from Kai." Simone stood up and walked out.
"I can't believe we're still doing this," Brenda chuckled to herself.
She called Christian and told him everything. Lucky enough, they were leaving for Potomac the next morning.
