Silas's POV
My phone rang just as I stepped out of Grandfather's house, jacket thrown over my shoulder. Felix's name flashed across the screen, and I felt my jaw clench. His calls lately meant nothing but trouble.
"This better be important," I answered, keeping my voice down in the hallway.
"Don't hang up on me," Felix said fast, like he could sense I was about to cut him off. "I just sent you something. You need to look at it now."
I stopped walking. Felix wasn't one to waste my time with garbage. "What kind of something?"
"Just open the message I sent. You'll understand."
I pulled the phone away from my ear and checked. A new text with a link sat there waiting. My stomach twisted before I even clicked it.
"I'm looking," I said, tapping the link.
"Good. Because this is bad."
The page loaded and my world stopped. A woman's face stared back at me from the screen. Above her photo, bold text declared: My son is Hugo VALERIUS'Empire's child.
