In a dark alley a young boy was sitting on the ground against the wall. His name was Nick and his lifeless eyes stared at the ground as rats crawled around him
Nick was young, no older then 10, he had dark dishevelled hair and his face was covered in muck and grime.
He looked like a corpse and he certainly smelled like one too .He was covered in dirty rags that were riddle with holes.
A rat slowly crawled towards him, sniffing his hand that hung idly by his side but then Nick sprung to life, grasping the rat as it tried to squirm free . Nick, who looked like a lifeless corpse just seconds ago, was now filled with energy. His previously lifeless eyes were now filled with excitement.
*Yes! Looks like I'm eating good tonight* Nick lifted the rat up, showing it like a trophy, with a proud smirk plasterd on his face
As he was celebrating his victory he heard light footsteps coming from behind him. He quickly stood up while turning around. Looking down the dark and grimey alley he saw a young, malnourished boy with black hair and black eyes staring hungrily at the rat caught in his hands
*Who are you and what do you want?*
Sunny looked between the rat and the boy with a hungry but cautious gaze
*I'm sunny and I'm just looking for food*
Nick looked at sunny up and down. Sunny looked bad , even for an outskirts kid.
He was unhealthy skinny and he could hear his stomach rumbling. Nick was surprised sunny was even standing
He looked back at the rat that was still squirming in his hands and then to sunny before sighing
*Do you want it*
Sunny looked taken aback for a minute before nodding slightly. Nick extended his hand with the rat inside and sunny hesitantly walked over and took the rat before quickly backing off
And that is how sunny and Nick met

This was my first chapter that I've written and I think it turned out good I also hope for suggestions for Nicks Runes and any suggestions on improving my writing skills
