All the jutsus of basic chakra natures that I had learned were of C rank and it took at least a month for me to learn each of them.
I had easily created and learned genjutsu or nara clan's shadow techniques. But it seems that I was not that talented in elemental ninjutsu.
But for whatever reason, combining water, fire, and earth felt far more natural to me than shaping any of them on their own.
It was as if the chakra flows wanted to meet halfway instead of being forced down a single path. The result wasn't steam, or molten stone like I expected but something far stranger. It was something more solid.
I ended up creating two techniques from this odd interaction.
The first one I named "Heat Core." I began by shaping earth chakra into a dense, refined mass, grinding it down until it felt almost powdery. I infused it with water to bind it together, then injected fire chakra, not to burn it away, but to store the heat inside.
When I expelled it, the mixture formed into a smooth, semi-transparent sphere that looked like polished glass.
It was a thin shell of hardened material formed instantly around it, trapping immense heat and pressure inside. When the core struck its target, the shell shattered soundlessly, and then everything within the radius ignited at once.
There were no flying fragments, no shrapnel. Just a sudden, violent bloom of heat that set everything it touched ablaze.
The second technique was far more unsettling.
I called it "Crystal Breath."
It took time to prepare, mostly because the chakra balance had to be exact. I compressed earth chakra until it felt unnaturally refined, then mixed it with water while steadily raising the temperature with fire chakra. Instead of steam, what poured from my mouth was a shimmering, pale mist that caught the light in strange ways, bending it, scattering it, almost sparkling.
It was also quite a beautiful sight but also a very very deadly technique. And it was also the technique that finally told me what was the Kekkei Genkai that I had. I had my suspicions but this one confirmed it.
Anything the mist touched was rapidly solidified on contact with anything solid. Tree trunks were coated in a clear, glass-like layer. Leaves crystallized mid-air and shattered as they fell.
I hadn't tested it on a person. I wasn't sure I wanted to. If I was not wrong, this technique might become my trump card for the coming years.
Between my poison-tipped kunai and this technique, Crystal Breath was easily the deadliest thing I could do. Whatever I was creating was very very deadly.
I only knew one thing. This wasn't just water, fire, or earth anymore.
Both these techniques used a large amount of chakra though, I could only cast Crystal Release Heat core and Scalding Mist once before I risked chakra exhaustion, but they were also very strong and I was working on making their casting more chakra efficient to let myself cast them more often.
I also had to work on some basic techniques of my Kekkei Tōta but that would need me to have better control over it so that it only takes me a second or two to use those jutsus.
I knew the reason for such high chakra expenditure. The jutsu required the usage of chakra of all three affinities at the same time. And since I was new to this stuff and apparently pretty bad, the chakra cost was very large.
My main weapon in combat would be my shadows due to their low chakra cost, my control was so good that I only had to use a minute amount of chakra to maintain and control my shadows, but I would use them if I had an opening to end a fight quickly and didn't need to worry about friendly fire.
Another advantage my shadows had that my Crystal release didn't was its precision. Both of the Crystal release techniques I'd developed affected a wide area. If I used my Crystal mist near my allies, I might just end up turning their lungs into crystals.
And if you have not guessed it by now, it was Crystal release that I was using, at least according to Shikaku.
And it was a Kekkei Tōta. Shikaku himself was shocked by this fact. He had taken a look at the records from pre-shinobi villages era which was the warring clans period.
There used to be a clan that had the ability to form crystals but they were annhilated hundreds of years ago.
Shikaku said that the clan lived near the Nara clan back then and one of my ancestors might have engaged in carnal activity with a member of that clan. The ability had popped up in me after generations due to my high Yin chakra and the circumstances that led to me having the affinities of all three chakra natures.
Anyways, it was thought to be a Kekkei Genkai and not a Kekkei Tõta. But I had proven that it needed three chakra affinities to use it.
I'd tried to explain the science behind what I was doing and argue that anyone who trained enough could copy my techniques and he'd looked at me like I was stupid.
He insisted that the only way I could have been born with three strong nature affinities was if I had a kekkei Tōta or two kekkei genkais.
He was the expert, and arguing didn't serve any purpose, so I let it go and accepted his reasoning.
Shikaku had taken a long nap after finding out that it was a Kekkei Tōta. He had said that he would be having sleepless nights after people find about my Kekkei Tōta.
He told me to keep it under wraps as much as possible. I have now become one of the only two known alive users of a Kekkei Tōta.
There was not much known about the clan techniques as the clan vanished at least a century ago. Information was lost and the clan was very secretive too. So I had to create the jutsus myself.
I was quite happy though. I had watched even the filler episodes of Naruto. And Guren, a crystal released user was one of the coolest character in Naruto.
In fact, she might have been stronger than even Kakashi. She held off the three tails alone. She had shown the most number of jutsus and thus I knew how I could use crystal release in future.
I knew that I would have to work harper to develop those techniques and have much larger reserves to perform such feats of crystal release as her.
But all of this did not mean that I would not be using my Nara clan techniques and Genjutsu. They would still be my first choice jutsus.
