Chapter 7 – The Awakened Test
The story begins from where it ended last time.
Beggar Jake Lee –
"How long will you sleep? We have to go to work, or someone else will take our place."
Navi –
"It's already morning? Okay, let's go."
Scene Shift –
At the begging area, many people were going to their jobs.
Navi –
"Alright, I've reached my spot."
MC's Thoughts –
"Today I need to find another way to earn money faster."
Navi –
"Hey beautiful girl, please help a little. You are very beautiful, may your beauty always remain."
Girl –
"Go flirt somewhere else. Your hands and legs are working fine, so why are you begging?"
(She leaves angrily.)
Beggar Jake Lee –
Starts laughing loudly.
"Kid, this trick doesn't work on everyone."
Navi –
"Okay, fine. Stop laughing."
Navi thinks –
"It's my helplessness. Who wants to beg?
All this is happening because of the system.
Once this mission is complete, I'll show everyone who I really am."
Navi –
"These people look awakened. Where are they going together?"
He asks the beggar.
Beggar Jake Lee –
"They are members of the Immortal Guild.
It is one of the top 10 ranked guilds in the USA.
They have many powerful hunters and a lot of money.
They are going inside an E-rank gate for training."
Navi –
"Okay.
Can we form a guild too? We could earn a lot of money."
Beggar –
"Yes, but your guild leader must be A-rank.
You need 50 E-rank, 40 D-rank, 30 C-rank, and 5 B-rank members.
You also need your own building."
Navi –
"Then it will be difficult for us.
We have nothing.
We'll think about it in the future."
Navi thinks –
"If I want to understand this world properly, I must enter gates.
I should work part-time."
Navi –
"I want to work collecting magic crystals there. What do I need?"
Beggar Jake Lee –
"You must be awakened.
You need to take a test.
There is a place in the city, about 20 kilometers from here.
That job is very dangerous.
You shouldn't do it."
Navi –
"I'll check. Maybe I am awakened."
Beggar Jake Lee –
"You already took the test before. Why take it again?"
Navi –
Nervously says, "I know… but I lost my license."
Beggar Jake Lee –
"Oh, okay."
Navi –
"I'm going now. I'll take the test and come back by evening. Don't worry."
Beggar Jake Lee watches Navi leave.
Navi –
He enters the location into his map and follows the green arrow while running.
Navi's speed was as fast as a car.
He thought he was running slowly, but he didn't realize his speed was extremely high.
Navi –
"Why is everyone staring at me?"
Navi –
"Oh shit, my speed is too fast. That's why everyone is looking at me."
He stops.
Navi –
"I forgot. From now on, I must be very careful.
I can't show my power."
"I've arrived."
Navi –
He sees a huge building in front of him, and many people are waiting in line.
By mistake, Navi bumps into someone.
Navi –
"Sorry, my mind was somewhere else."
The man gets angry at Navi.
"Do you want to die?"
Everyone starts watching.
Navi –
"Sorry, it was my fault."
People whisper –
"He's done for. Something bad will happen to him."
The man's name is Steve.
He comes from a very rich family.
His father is a vice leader of a guild, so he bullies others.
Steve –
"Fine, I forgive you."
Navi steps back and thinks,
"Why does everyone call him bad?"
Suddenly, Steve pushes Navi from behind.
Navi falls far away and blood comes out of his mouth.
Everyone is shocked.
People say –
"He is B-rank. Is he crazy?
If it were someone else, they would already be dead."
Navi stares at him angrily.
With great difficulty, Navi stands up.
Steve –
"Sorry. Now we are even, trash."
Navi feels extreme anger.
A murderous aura starts coming out of him.
Steve feels something strange.
Steve –
"Looks like you still haven't learned your lesson."
Navi keeps staring at him without saying anything.
Steve rushes toward Navi to attack him.
His punch is about to hit Navi's face…
And Navi also raises his fist.
Navi has completely lost control of his anger.
