Every lunar new year there's a tale that's past down from generation to generation. There was a kingdom in the north that gave birth to a baby girl. But, after a few weeks, the king and queen noticed that she didn't cry. They visited their imperail doctor and the odds of this princess was slim. But there was a spirt who lived in the river not far from the kingdom, so both the king and queen set off on the journey to visit this spirt to see if it knew how to heal her.
After the long journey they reached the river. The spirit was two fishes looking like Ying and yang. The king, holding the baby princess slowly step into the cold waters of the river, and gently lay the baby princess, sleeping, in the middle of the two fishes. Then a light glowed, the princess hair turned white and she started to cry. It was a miracle, the once sick hier of the kingdom was a healthy baby girl. But reminder this was borrowing live from the two spirts.
The girl grewed up healthy and she can summon the fishes anytime she wishes if needed, and sometimes the fish spirits of the river will visit her to check up on her. Rumor has it that they treated her like she was their own.
But one day the enemy nation came to take over her kingdom through war to attain these spirits as their own. The spirits were wounded, badly. And without Ying and yang the world was unbalanced. Then all at once, this princess understood her live long duty of her destiny. She went to the river where the spirits were killed, the cold water bloody red. And she walked slowly in the river, and stood in the middle of them, she started to chant something, and again the river started to glow.
But she was fading away in the soft moon light, like a ghost and vampire fading away from the morning sun. The people looking far away noticed that the spirits were back to being alive, but their princess passed out in the cold blue waters. The town, realizing what she had done, giving back the life force she once stole at birth back then, was crying and sorrows was heard all around.
The Ying and yang fish spirts awoken and saw their once precious daughter of theirs passed out, cuddling them underneath the cold water, laying down drenched in the cold waters of The surface of the river. They both cried, bitterly. But to the town surprise, there was a figure on the moon, it was the princess on the moon! With someone else, this someone was slender, with long beautiful silver hair, and a mom braid on the side of his shoulder, overall, this mysterious figure was handsome.
And he spoke, "Don't worry, Ying, yang, my sweet baby boys, I noticed what has transpired, and I tried to save her, but atlas her mortal body was weak, but I was able to take her spirit and now she will be the daughter of the moon, since I also noticed you took noticed of her, like she was your own"
The two spirits were happy to the point of blessing the whole kingdom of peaceful nights and dreams, the blessing of the moon. It was said from then on no one was hurt during the night. You were harassed by bad men or criminals roaming at night? Was punished by the moons blade.
It wasn't long till the started calling their princess the lunar goddess of the moon. So that's why, every lunar new year, we celebrate the up coming new year by telling this bittersweet tale of the princess sacfice to save her people, and the whole world! Now this is the part of the story that everyone here's, but there's a second part of this tale thar was forgotten through time.
It was said that the princess fell in love with the enemy prince, the prince was respected by the princess kingdom for being kind and helping survivors of her people during the war. But, while he was saving her towns people form the aftermath of the war, that's when he took noticed of the blank sky, there was no sky, no moon, and the princess once told him that there will come a day when she has to be sacficed for the balance of the world.
The prince stopped in his tracks, fearfully of what he was thinking he rushed to that very same river that she told him about. There, when he arrived, saw the women he once loved passed out in the cold waters of the river with two fishes swimming around her, he was spoken. The spirits noticed his hesitation to approach because of them, but they could feel the purity of this princes heart, and swim and took him to her. The princess also cried bitterly, but that was when the spirits explained everything to him. Though sad she won't be with him in the mortal world, he knew she is still alive.
And the spirits said to tell him that she will grow old just like how she was as a human and die and how they could go through the cycle of recardation to meet each other in the next life,
but till then, she will visit him in his dreams every single night without fail. The prince who heard this couldn't help but slightly chuckled through his tears saying how clingy the princess was. The two fishes nudged him for comfort and he sat in the cold river waters cradling the two fishes, looking at the moon.
After a while, the prince, with the fishes permission, went home with the fishes and pit them In a special cave where no one can repeat this tragedy. To this day no one knows where this said cave is. It's believed that's its just a story, but is it? In the year 2026 there was two babys born during a mythical moon phase that hasn't popped up once since thousand of years ago when the moon goddess was born, but their both male!?
