Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Treve: I Want Her to Be My Trainer!

After Special Week finished reading the diary, her Mother happened to place a video call. Spe-chan tried to pick up the notebook to show her.

However, to her surprise, the moment she grabbed it, the diary vanished into thin air. It was truly magical.

"Wha... why did it suddenly disappear? Does the diary vanish after you finish reading it?"

Special Week was having a rare moment of brilliance. Having just consumed a lot of carrots, her blood sugar was high, and her brain was working faster.

"Maybe... that's what a 'cheat' or something like that means? Once Trainer Mizuki finishes writing, the diary appears. And when I finish reading, it disappears."

"When Trainer Mizuki writes tomorrow, maybe it'll appear again."

However, Special Week now had a big doubt: Could anyone else besides her see Trainer Mizuki's diary?

She couldn't figure it out and decided to ask Trainer Mizuki when she got the chance.

At a training center in Europe:

Montjeu watched the diary with an expressive face. With her blonde hair and elegant demeanor, she stood there with the aura of a queen radiating confidence.

"Haha, interesting, interesting. A Trainer and Uma Musume from Tracen? I'd really like to meet them and have a proper race."

She chuckled. She was a famous horse from France, hailed as a "once-in-a-century genius."

Her gaze now settled on those three words: General of Japan.

"The General of Japan? This person must be the strongest. What a prestigious title. But I'll defeat you all the same."

"Pity Trainer Mizuki didn't write a name, otherwise I could have searched for her records already."

"But being the General of Japan, I expect she's an all-rounder in intellect, character, and athletics."

"Of course, I am too."

Montjeu flipped her hair. Good grief, she was quite the narcissist.

Little did she know that she would eventually have a showdown with that "General of Japan," and in the end, it would be anyone's guess who would come out on top.

It wasn't just Montjeu; similar scenes were playing out all over the world. Treve, Astronomer, Ginger Punch... a whole host of Uma Musume had finished reading Mizuki's log.

They were all incredibly excited.

Uma Musume of Tracen, eh? I'll be waiting for you in Europe. When we meet in the future, I'll bring my crew to challenge you!

A group of them even felt like going to Tracen to demand an update: "Is there more? Post more!"

Someone like the adorable Treve, with a charming smile on her pretty face, was now very interested in this.

"Ah, Montjeu is so mean, she's going to participate in the Arc de Triomphe again. She gets to race with so many Uma Musume from other countries. I want to go too!"

"If I set out, I wonder what kind of results I'd get...?"

"But there's no need to worry. I'm very strong!"

Treve put her hands on her hips with a slightly smug expression. She was quite the runner, and she was very interested in Mizuki for being able to let everyone see such logs.

'It would be great if Mizuki could be my trainer. She'd agree, right? She definitely would. After all, it's an invitation from Treve!'

"Hehehe..."

Treve had already started making plans for Mizuki.

As for the woman herself, Mizuki was currently sleeping soundly in her bed, unaware that her diary was circulating throughout Tracen and even the world.

On her bed were dolls and small gifts given to her by the members of Team Spica. Because she had taken over the team, everyone was very kind to her.

She had even run into the extremely socially anxious Mejiro Dober, and Dober had actually bowed and greeted her— thanking her for drafting a training plan for Mejiro McQueen.

Comparing it like this, Mizuki realized that being a Trainer at Tracen was indeed wonderful. Not only was there no corporate grind, but there was also no backstabbing among colleagues, and she had a group of Uma Musume who respected her deeply. This life was quite good.

The next morning, Mizuki woke up early. She looked at the calendar; it was January 6th. According to her understanding, McQueen's racing history at Tracen was slightly different from reality.

In the real world, McQueen would have already won the G1 Kikuka-sho on November 4th. In Mizuki's world, while McQueen had also won, the duration of her injury was significantly longer than the original.

This was why McQueen felt more anxiety toward the upcoming Spring Tenno Sho.

Looking at the race schedule, Mizuki decided to have McQueen enter the G2 Hanshin Daishoten on March 10th first. Using it as a precursor to the Tenno Sho would help her regain confidence and adjust her condition.

Having made her decision, she stopped lounging in bed, washed up, tidied her appearance, grabbed her official Trainer gear, and headed straight for the Spica clubroom.

Mizuki was munching on a piece of bread as she opened the Spica doors.

"Good morning, Trainer!"

As soon as Mizuki opened the door, she saw Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet chatting and laughing, but the moment she appeared, their expressions froze.

It took a few seconds before they returned to normal.

Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet looked at each other, a trace of confusion flashing in their eyes. They had just been discussing Mizuki's Training Diary.

They had both discovered something: it seemed only Uma Musume could see Mizuki's diary. For instance, the two of them, Gold Ship, and Mejiro McQueen. The other Trainers at Tracen couldn't see it at all.

Furthermore, they couldn't reveal to Mizuki that they could see it. The moment Mizuki appeared, Scarlet and Vodka lost their voices regarding that topic. They could only speak normally when discussing other things.

However, if they were just communicating between themselves, this problem didn't occur.

Both Scarlet and Vodka were shocked.

They felt it was too magical. So far, even the most mysterious Agnes Tachyon couldn't achieve something like this.

"Morning. Are Golshi and McQueen here?"

Mizuki greeted them. She planned to take Mejiro McQueen, Daiwa Scarlet, and Vodka out for training. For Uma Musume in a racing year, every day of training was vital.

According to Mizuki's current plan, before the Spring Tenno Sho, McQueen could participate in the G2 Hanshin Daishoten in March. This long-distance race of 3,000 meters would help her get back into form.

As for Daiwa Scarlet and Vodka, their paths were just beginning. They were preparing for their debut races.

Coincidentally, their debut race was the exact same one...

These two were true rivals. Usually, neither could stand the other, and they were always sniping at each other. Anyone who saw them would say they had a great relationship, but they constantly denied it.

Honestly, people say Daiwa Scarlet is a Tsundere, but in this regard, Vodka might be one too.

Regardless, these two couldn't live without each other, always bickering and making the situation look promising.

"I'm right here, Trainer."

McQueen had a cute but tired expression. She hadn't slept well last night— but whose fault was that? It was the Trainer's!

Actually, it was normal. McQueen was thin-skinned and after reading the diary, she kept replaying the content in her head, which made her even more distressed and unable to sleep.

McQueen was also very curious about being able to see the Trainer's diary, so she had come to Spica early to find out the truth.

But just like Scarlet and Vodka, she couldn't ask a single thing about it.

"Oh my, Mizuki-san, you're here."

Just then, Hayakawa Tazuna suddenly walked over from behind. She smiled and handed Mizuki a certificate for Team Spica, explaining that the Chairwoman had suddenly decided to promote Mizuki from "Temporary Trainer" to "Official Trainer."

Yet again, Mizuki wished to fall to her knees and praise this wonderful boss known as "Akikawa." In the entire world, only the Director would be this good to her employees!

Now that she had officially become the Trainer for Spica, there was a certificate to be handed over and Tazuna was here to officially deliver it.

"Thank you, cuc— I mean, thank you Hayakawa Tazuna-san!"

Mizuki almost slipped up. Reading too many memes about what Tazuna's green hat means had instinctively gotten her to say something rude. Fortunately, her reflexes were fast and she corrected herself immediately.

You had to remember that Hayakawa Tazuna was the number one person under the Chairwoman; she had to stay on her good side.

(T/N: "Green Hat" is Chinese slang for cuck.)
