Stormlands

Storm Kingdom - Reach - Dorne Border

Ei sighed.

Hopefully, there would be peace this time, and she could simply return to Storm's End. The Riverlands needed time and work to recover from the wounds left by the Ironborn, while plans would have to be drawn to develop the entire region.

She still had too much work. Just about to cut another tear in space and return to Seagard, her blade froze mid-air when Ei saw another impossibility.

Someone had just launched an electro orb to the air, near Blackhaven.

The Electro Archon flew to investigate the obvious flare, slowly picking up speed, while pushing her senses to the full range to pick up the source. It felt eerily similar to Rhinedottir, or rather, the powers she had as the Shade of Life after consuming Naberius' heart.

It felt faint, however, as if not at full strength, but that was for the best if the individual was hostile.

Whoever it was must have used electro on purpose.

Blade drawn, Ei was ready to fight if the unknown sought to cause trouble and increased her speed, the environment quickly turning to a blur.

Once close to the source of the electro energy, Ei slowed down, surveying the area, and rather than an enemy, found two people waving at her.

A kitsune and an oni.

Two very familiar youkai.

When Ei came into view, Saiguu grinned, finally seeing her friend after over a year-long journey.

Next thing she knew, her bones were grinding together as she and Chiyo were being squeezed together.

"Ei, I missed you too, but this will be a very short reunion if you keep crushing us like this." She grunted out, trying to wriggle out of the hold. Ei let go with a quick "sorry," looking at her friends with teary eyes, before hugging them again, this time gentler.

Having had enough for now, Ei let go, holding Chiyo and Saiguu's hands instead. "I missed you two so much. But I must ask, how are you two alive?" That they were even in this world was unbelievable, but she had hoped the one-in-a-billion circumstance that brought Sasayuri here would do the same for them.

Their bodies weathered, their clothes worn and dusted, her friends were here.

"As for how we are alive, segments of my memories lived on as filth after I died, and by luck, a part of me came across an energy source that revitalized a part of me enough to recover my memories, and eventually, my body." To punctuate her point, Saiguu grew a sakura branch out of her hand.

Ei hummed. It was relieving to see she would not have to fight a Shade, or someone with the powers of one. "I see. That explains why I felt Naberius' power."

"The Shade of Life?" Saiguu scratched her chin. "In hindsight, it should have been obvious." She couldn't think of any other god that could do what her new powers were capable of.

Saiguu pointed to Chiyo, leaving the matter aside for now. "She, on the other hand, was in a cave, stuck in a time loop. Kept turning to a gruesome monster, then back to herself again." She knew of what happened to Chiyo but had not seen it herself and didn't have the heart to tell her.

"Which reminds me that you haven't told me how it happened because I don't remember anything past a couple hours before the battle." A swarm of monsters had appeared in Inazuma, and Chiyo was to battle them, but the details escaped her due to the time loop, as technically, her current body had not gone through it.

Ei, with a heavy heart and a solemn expression, loosened her grip on Chiyo's hand. "One of the creatures corrupted you, turned you against us. You attacked me, and I retaliated. You have been lost ever since, and we thought you dead."

Chiyo, without hesitation, gripped her friend's hand tighter. "Better dead than attacking my friends." She meant it too, as family and friendship meant more to Chiyo than her life.

"Where did you two find yourselves? Sasayuri was transported to the lands beyond the Wall." Going by their look, it wasn't anywhere close.

"Sasayuri is here too?!" Chiyo leaned forward, looking at Ei with hopeful eyes.

Ei nodded. "Yes, she is at Riverlands right now, managing the army in case of a war against Dorne and Reach, but I suppose it won't be necessary now." The neighboring kingdoms would have to be fools to try something like this again.

"So we are all together again?"

"That we are."

"We were separated during our arrival, and I found myself in some place named Shadowlands; you wouldn't believe half the things I saw there." Saiguu shuddered. Walking corpses, chimeras, and mutated creatures of magic and flesh. Without her newly acquired powers, surviving there long enough to leave would have been a true challenge.

Ei's eye twitched in irritation. Perhaps she would visit Asshai and the Shadowlands next.

"Chiyo, you?" Hopefully, the oni maiden had an easier time.

"Grey Waste, a frozen desert." Chiyo shivered. "Just remembering it gives me the chills."

She did not, apparently, and Ei knew Chiyo didn't like the cold. "If I remember correctly, these places aren't exactly close."

Relatively speaking, of course, since the distance between Shadowlands and Westeros was more than six thousand kilometers, by her estimates based on the maps.

"We reunited in Meereen and made our way to Braavos first to be in civilized lands. Imagine our surprise when we heard the daughter of the Storm King Argilac had purple hair and eyes, born amid a fierce storm with purple lightning." Saiguu explained. It had been a comedic sight, as Saiguu had wondered who was the short person strong enough to carry supplies that seemed to be heavier than him, only for the person to turn around.

It took a lot of blinking before the kitsune and the oni were sure they weren't dreaming.

"How did you arrive in this world?"

"I have no idea, but by going through what you said, I think our existence went against the rules of Teyvat, and we were expelled. Why precisely this world, I can't begin to say. Maybe you created a path when you arrived here first." The might of an Archon had grave effects on the world, such as the way Ei's Musou no Hitotachi stopped time and cut through space. And as they glitched out of Teyvat, it was possible the two of them were sent through the path between the worlds Ei left behind.

"Anything is possible. Come, we should leave this place."

"Finally. I swear I am starting to smell like Fontainian cheese." Saiguu grinned. Not that she would smell—she was a goddess—but the thought of not having a proper bath for so long was affecting her.

Ei and Chiyo snickered.

Seagard

The sky tore open once more, startling more than one person who had seen it before, and their God-Queen returned, along with two more people.

Two very weird-looking people.

The first one was a young female with white hair and golden eyes, dressed in a white top and a wide red skirt. Her beauty caused many hot-blooded males to blush, though it was tempered by the fact that she had two animalistic ears on top of her head, like that of a fox.

The second female was gorgeous as well, with crimson eyes, a lovely face, and great black locks, dressed in a white robe flowing down her legs with a red neck and wing-like sleeves.

But just like the first one, her horns, red clawed hands, and the same colored feet unsettled them.

"I don't believe this." Sasayuri grinned, unfurling her wings to move faster to embrace her friends.

"Sasayuri." The guests exclaimed, the twin-horned one dropping her luggage, which was taller than her, before both hugged the queen's general like a family meeting after a long time.

"I think I understand how Ei felt when she saw me first. How are you two here?" Sasayuri asked, sure that they had a story to tell.

"Long story, I am sure we can talk somewhere private." There were too many eyes, and Saiguu did not appreciate being scrutinized.

Ei turned to one of the men watching them. "Indeed. Lord Emrick, we require a discreet place, one preferably outdoors."

The Lord of Seagard bowed his head hastily, gesturing the way. "Yes, Your Grace, this way."

"Father, you are in charge. I have destroyed the hosts of Dorne and the Reach and demanded their surrender. Prepare the army to march." Ei's words left the spectators cheering as she and her friends left.

"Father? Can you explain how exactly you came to be the daughter of a human in the first place?" Saiguu asked after Emrick left. She was definitely going to be using this to write a novel.

Sometime in the future.

"I placed my consciousness inside Musou Isshin and created a puppet body to rule in my stead while I meditated." Ei started, explaining the events starting from the war against the Heavenly Principles to finding herself in the body of Argella Durrandon and the current war.

"Aw, now I want to see what you looked like as a child." The kitsune goddess cooed teasingly, imagining a chibi Ei sitting on a throne.

"Perhaps later." She would not refuse her friends something like this but preferred to stay in her current form.

Sasayuri frowned. "Too bad our reunion had to be in the middle of a war." The war against the Ironborn was over in lieu of there being no one left to fight, but Dorne and the Reach had to start something.

"Not much of a war if you ask me; the enemy doesn't have a god on their side, and she just killed around a hundred thousand men." Chiyo shrugged. She would fight, whether mortals or monsters, but didn't think there would be anyone left to stand in their way.

"They came in force then. Still, there is much to do. What do you want to do about Reach and Dorne?" Sasayuri could have the army ready to march in a week, but if Ei wanted to leave them be, then there was no reason not to dismiss the army.

Ei quickly considered her options. "Secure our borders and have them pay reparations for their planned attack."

The simple truth was that she didn't want to fight anymore. Enemy or not, a lot of people had already perished, and the Electro Archon was sure they would receive her message.

"You should conquer both kingdoms." Saiguu suggested, which was uncharacteristic of her, since she tended to leave the matters of war to others.

"What?"

She may not be a warrior, but Kitsune Saiguu was a master of cunning and knew what kind of an enemy they were fighting.

One that would not hesitate to strike when the opportunity presented itself, no matter if their target didn't have any ill intentions. "Think about it. They attacked while your back was turned. If they can't defeat you in battle, they will employ underhanded means. Assassinations, sabotage, theft, and every other action they can deny."

Chiyo frowned. "These are just assumptions." And you did not wage war on assumptions, which would seem as if you were searching for reasons to start a war.

"Conquering them makes sense from a military standpoint, but the administrative work will be a nightmare, and their loyalty will always be in doubt." Thousands of years of cultural and militaristic enmity did not disappear in one defeat, no matter how final it appeared to be.

Ei looked conflicted, and Chiyo patted her shoulder to reassure her friend. "Whatever you decide, I am ready to fight, whether on the battlefield or against the paperwork."

"I suppose this requires a meeting with the lords." She sighed. Their answer was already evident.

"Maybe some other time? We need a bath and a bed." Saiguu was really looking forward to that bath, and being so close to the opportunity really made her seem impatient.

"Of course."

"Who are they?" Her father asked once Ei had Lord Emrick assign staff to Saiguu and Chiyo.

"My friends." Even as she said it, the words put a smile on her face, and Argilac wavered.

"The dead ones like Sasayuri?" Argilac still was not over the fact that her daughter's friend had returned from the dead, but for the good of his mind, he chose to not dwell on it.

"Indeed."

"Anyone else we should expect?" Maybe her twin sister? He didn't know how that would go over with the lords, knowing there were two gods running around now.

Resting her chin on her palm, Ei considered who else could return but came up with nothing. "At this point, I am unsure."

Argilac wouldn't hold his breath on that. "What happened at the border?" Everyone was curious rather than afraid, since their ancient enemies were already defeated.

"I destroyed the combined hosts of Dorne and Reach. They discovered a path through the mountains and used it to circumvent the storm." Which wouldn't have happened if that path had been on maps or known in general.

Argilac's previous worries were forgotten, and the former Storm King howled in glee. "This is great. With their forces gone, conquering both kingdoms will be a simple affair."

Ei waved her hand, not in the mood to celebrate the death of so many humans, a necessary affair. If she had spared them, then others would do similar things, thinking the Storm Queen would let them go with a slap on the wrist. "I am not sure if I want to do that. Just securing our borders and extracting reparations sounds fine to me."

Argilac never raised his voice after the day she refused the idea of marriage, and this was a first. "You cannot be serious. They are our enemies, and you are showing them mercy like this when they would never do the same?"

Ei did not think of killing over a hundred thousand soldiers, along with the High Septon, King Mern, Prince Nymor, and however many nobles they had brought along, as mercy.

"It is too much work, not something I wish to do, but there aren't enough qualified scribes and such to do it in my stead." Which was something she was trying to fix, but it would take decades to install a proper system.

"Every lord in the kingdom knows how to rule their lands." Argilac said, much to the Electro Archon's ire.

Ei glared at her father with a dry look. "No, they know how to keep their lands the same as they have always been for thousands of years. That is not ruling, that is stagnation, and I will not have it."

"Teach us then." He requested. Argilac would do whatever it took, even if it meant going back to learn how to rule, to see the Reach and Dorne brought to heel.

"I intend to. Why do you think I took Jocelyn under my wing?" Still, teaching people with proper backgrounds how to rule would be much easier than starting from scratch, and Ei had people to fall back on now.
