Chapter 4 - Games 2

THE TUNNEL SYSTEM OF THE OBJECT

Extended Level Index — Unauthorized Recovery

There are more levels than listed.

These are only the ones that allow documentation.

LEVEL 6 — THE FALSE EXIT

Description:

A near-perfect replica of the outside world. Blue sky. Fresh air. Familiar buildings. Everything feels slightly delayed, like reality buffering.

Purpose: Hope filtration.

Rules:

Do not celebrate.

Do not contact anyone you recognize.

If someone says "You made it out," leave immediately.

Never sleep here.

Notes:

Those who stay slowly forget why they wanted to leave.

Most never notice.

LEVEL 7 — THE SIGNAL ROOMS

Description:

Dark rooms filled with old TVs, radios, monitors, and speakers. Static forms patterns. Voices overlap.

Purpose: Communication testing.

Rules:

Do not answer questions asked through speakers.

If a screen turns on by itself, cover your eyes.

Never adjust the volume.

If you hear your voice speaking independently, unplug nothing.

Notes:

This is where "logs" originate.

Not all are intentional.

LEVEL 8 — THE WATCHED HALLS

Description:

Long hallways lined with cameras, mirrors, and reflective surfaces. You are visible from every angle.

Purpose: Behavioral correction.

Rules:

Act normal.

Do not acknowledge surveillance.

If a camera follows you, slow down.

Never wave.

Notes:

The Entity learns how you behave when observed.

LEVEL 9 — THE FLOODED MEMORY

Description:

Partially submerged tunnels. Water reflects scenes that didn't happen. The deeper you go, the clearer they become.

Purpose: Memory erosion.

Rules:

Do not drink the water.

Do not touch reflections.

If the water feels warm, turn back.

Never swim downward.

Notes:

Some reflections try to climb out.

LEVEL 10 — THE NAMELESS ROOMS

Description:

White, empty rooms with no features except a faint hum. You feel lighter here.

Purpose: Identity removal.

Rules:

Do not introduce yourself.

Do not think of your name.

If asked "Who are you?" do not answer.

Leave before the hum stops.

Notes:

Those who fail become background figures in earlier levels.

LEVEL 11 — THE NESTED TUNNELS

Description:

Tunnels inside tunnels. Entrances repeating infinitely. Navigation becomes impossible.

Purpose: Structural expansion.

Rules:

Choose one direction and never change it.

Do not mark the walls.

If you encounter a previous version of yourself, ignore it.

Do not ask which one is real.

Notes:

The tunnels grow faster here.

LEVEL 12 — THE CHILDHOOD FLOOR

Description:

Hallways resembling schools, playgrounds, bedrooms. Everything is too clean.

Purpose: Emotional compatibility.

Rules:

Do not play the games.

Do not open lockers.

If you hear laughing, hide.

Never say "I remember this."

Notes:

Many people stop resisting here.

LEVEL 13 — THE MAINTENANCE ZONE

Description:

Industrial corridors. Exposed cables that pulse softly. Walls covered in symbols.

Purpose: Entity upkeep.

Rules:

Do not touch the cables.

Follow yellow markings only.

If alarms sound, freeze.

Never enter labeled "CORE ACCESS."

Notes:

This level confirms the tunnels are alive.

LEVEL 14 — THE OBSERVER'S PATH

Description:

A single elevated walkway overlooking multiple levels at once. You can see people entering, failing, adapting.

Purpose: Role assignment.

Rules:

Do not interfere.

Do not warn anyone.

If given instructions, follow them.

Do not look down too long.

Notes:

Those who remain become guides, recorders, or rule-makers.

LEVEL 15 — THE HOME (RECLASSIFIED)

Description:

Same as before. But now understood.

Updated Purpose:

Final integration.

Rules:

Accept a role.

Forget the rules above.

Greet newcomers.

Believe this is mercy.

Truth:

The Home is not the end.

It is the beginning of reuse.

ENTITY STATUS — THE OBJECT

The Entity does not expand outward.

It expands inward.

Every level is made from someone who almost escaped.

Every rule was learned from a failure.

Every warning was written by someone who stayed too long.

FINAL BROADCAST

You are not lost.

You are being organized.

The tunnels are learning you.

When you reach the level that feels safest—

do not stop.

That is where the Object wants you most.
