Chapter 1 - 1.Chapter: "First elimination, different fate"

"Ideas so the guests would arrive." – said King Piccolo.

This takes place after Pahkitew and All Stars.

However, only the contestants from the **first generation** are brought here.

Plus, of course, the host Chris and his partner Chef.

Everyone reacted with fear and shock when they realized they were seated in rows like in a movie theater, and a huge screen seemed ready to start playing a film.

"Okay, that's enough, Chris. There are no more seasons. Just leave us alone already." Gwen grumbled, clearly fed up.

"Hey, calm down. I have no idea why we're here either," Chris defended himself.

"You seriously expect me to believe that?" Duncan asked mockingly.

"He's telling the truth," King Piccolo declared calmly. "**I** brought you all here so you could watch your **alternate reality versions**."

"Are you kidding me?" Heather asked in disbelief.

"I hate to agree with her, but… what the hell are you even talking about?" Leshawna questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Suddenly the stranger revealed himself fully.

They had never seen anything like him before. Most of them stared in complete shock.

"That's… incredible! He's an actual alien! So maybe he really is telling the truth… We might actually get to watch alternate versions of ourselves!" Harold finished dreamily.

"Yeah… I guess I believe—" Duncan started, but couldn't finish.

"I know what you were going to say," King Piccolo cut in coldly. "You'd better learn your place quickly… before I erase your entire goddamn universe."

The atmosphere suddenly became suffocating.

Many curled up in their seats.

Eva stayed standing, visibly impressed. Chef too.

Izzy, as usual, seemed much less affected than the others.

"Interesting," King Piccolo said with a sadistic smile. "Since I see that some of you are more resilient… I'll give you one more chance because of them."

Just as suddenly, the oppressive pressure disappeared.

Slowly everyone warmed up again and could breathe normally.

"This is weird coming from me, but out of pure curiosity… why isn't Sierra here?" Cody asked carefully.

"Would you like her to be here?" King Piccolo asked with interest.

"No, no need. I'm good. Thank you for not bringing her," Cody said gratefully, a little embarrassed.

"No problem. Honestly, I don't really like her either. I left her with her plush Cody dolls," King Piccolo said, visibly shuddering.

Cody shuddered too at that mental image.

"So… can we finally watch an alternate universe?" Chris asked excitedly.

"Yes," King Piccolo replied smugly. "It's time for the first episode of the first alternate universe to begin."

[Cinema Screen]

The Killer Bass were having a terrible day.

It was only the first challenge and they already tasted the bitterness of defeat.

They fell badly behind in the cliff-diving challenge and couldn't catch up to the Screaming Gophers.

Now the team was facing elimination, and they had until the end of dinner to decide who would be the first person voted off Total Drama Island.

Ezekiel and Harold were walking toward the Mess Hall for dinner. Both looked tired and disappointed by the loss.

[Reaction]

"Why are they sitting together?" Courtney asked nervously.

[Cinema Screen]

"Honestly Ezekiel, I despise you… but I almost feel sorry for what happened to you. You got the worst of it. Maybe I could forgive you… but it would feel good if you apologized to me first," Heather thought, surprisingly forgiving.

Alejandro found her gentle expression strange. He didn't like it one bit.

"This stinks," Ezekiel grumbled. "We should've won this challenge."

"You said it," Harold replied. "I mean, yeah, more of us bailed on the cliff jump, but I really thought we could still catch up. We were supposed to win."

"I know, right? I mean, the other team had six girls."

Harold suddenly stopped. He turned back and stared at Ezekiel in confusion.

"What did you just say, Zeke?"

"I mean… guys are obviously stronger and smarter than girls, eh," Ezekiel said, raising an eyebrow. "Everyone knows that. They had more girls, so we should've crushed them easily."

Harold's eyes widened. He quickly looked around to make sure no one else was listening.

"Those are pretty sexist comments, Zeke. You don't actually believe that, do you?"

Ezekiel scratched his head, looking genuinely confused.

"Well… yeah, eh. That's what my parents told me growing up."

Harold's confused expression slowly turned into understanding.

"Ohhh, right. You were homeschooled your whole life out on the prairie, weren't you?"

Ezekiel grinned and nodded proudly. "Yup, sir."

"Which means you haven't really seen much of the outside world, right?"

"Sounds about right, eh."

[Reaction]

"Wait… are he seriously gonna help him?" Duncan asked with a raised eyebrow.

[Cinema Screen]

Harold looked around again and lowered his voice to a whisper.

"Look, I'm telling you right now — the people who raised you were very wrong about girls. I get that you grew up believing this, but trust me when I say: they can be just as strong and just as smart as any guy. And trust me… some of them throw the hardest punches."

[Reaction]

"Preach, sugar!" Leshawna grinned. "We throw the hardest punches."

[Cinema Screen]

"What's the hardest?" Ezekiel asked, confused.

"I'm just saying — that kind of thinking is gonna get you voted off real quick. The girls on this show would literally tear you apart if they heard you say stuff like that. Especially Eva."

[Reaction]

"What?" Eva growled from nearby.

[Cinema Screen]

As if on cue, both boys suddenly found themselves right in front of the Mess Hall entrance.

A few teammates were already arriving.

Eva and Tyler were approaching the door when Tyler accidentally tripped and fell into Eva.

She simply looked back, grabbed him, and shoved him off.

"Watch where you're going unless you want a black eye, klutz," Eva barked.

Tyler gulped and ran inside defensively.

[Reaction]

"Haha!!" Duncan laughed so hard a tear rolled down his cheek.

Tyler made a mental note to never accidentally anger Eva again.

[Cinema Screen]

"S-sorry. My foot was in the way," Tyler muttered quickly before darting inside.

Eva rolled her eyes and followed.

Ezekiel watched the whole thing curiously, thinking about what Harold had said.

Suddenly he slapped his forehead with wide eyes.

[Reaction]

"Yeah… it's slowly sinking in," Gwen said with a tired smile.

[Cinema Screen]

"I think you're right, eh," Ezekiel admitted, glancing toward the Mess Hall. "That girl is terrifying. She's probably stronger than most of the guys here."

"Exactly," Harold added. "Can you imagine what she would've done if she heard you say women are weaker or dumber?"

[Reaction]

"Heh. You just stated the obvious," Duncan snickered.

[Cinema Screen]

Ezekiel shuddered at the thought.

"Point made. I think… I think I've got a lot to learn about the world."

He shook his head, then smiled at Harold. "Thanks for the talk, eh. You probably just saved my skin for the future."

[Reaction]

"Awww, you two are bonding," Lindsay said innocently.

Beth thought about her and Lindsay's friendship.

Owen got misty-eyed thinking about his friendship with Noah.

Harold, Cody, Trent and Justin exchanged approving looks.

Then they kept watching.

[Cinema Screen]

"Don't mention it," Harold said, patting the homeschooler on the shoulder with a smile. "If you ever need more real-world advice, just ask. I can basically be your sensei for surviving modern society!"

He headed toward the confessional.

[Reaction]

"That was real sweet of you, baby," Leshawna winked.

Harold blushed happily and sighed.

[Cinema Screen]

**Yowane Haku** (a FANLOID character replacing Sadie)

was very sad. The team had lost the challenge.

She noticed her teammate Katie was still devastated about Sadie not being here.

Haku wanted to talk to her… but didn't have the courage. She was never really good at starting conversations.

[Reaction]

"What?" Katie and the BFF duo said in perfect sync.

"Shut up," Eva muttered. "That felt… weirdly familiar. Like I've seen it somewhere before."

[Cinema Screen]

Ezekiel noticed and decided to approach Haku.

"Hey, everything okay, eh?"

Haku sighed heavily. "Not really… I want to help Katie, but I don't know… What if I mess it up?"

Ezekiel smiled nervously. "Honestly, eh, I'm not great at this stuff either… but I think if you speak from the heart, she'll feel better."

That gave Haku the little push she needed.

She walked over to Katie.

Katie was crying. "I can't believe my best friend isn't here…"

Haku spoke nervously: "I'm sure she would want you to keep fighting for her too…"

Unfortunately Katie didn't really hear her. Still crying, she ran into the Mess Hall.

Haku sighed and followed quietly.

[Reaction]

"That was pathetic," Duncan commented.

"At least she tried," Trent defended.

"Still didn't work. Ezekiel had the right idea… but he should've gone with her," Duncan added.

"I think I actually agree with you on that one," Trent said, looking surprisingly at Duncan.

[Cinema Screen]

**Confessional – Harold**

"Yeah, not surprising that Ezekiel has such a warped view of the world when he's been so sheltered his whole life. Luckily I'm basically a teacher now, and despite all my crazy skills, I'm probably the best mentor he could ask for. With my guidance, what could possibly go wrong?"

Crickets chirped loudly in the awkward silence after Harold finished.

[Reaction]

Duncan burst into hysterical laughter at the cricket sound effect.

Also Alejandro let out a tiny chuckle.

"Enough, you two roosters, or you'll be making friends with my fist," Leshawna threatened.

Both guys immediately shut up, sweating.

Harold looked at Leshawna with even more admiration.

"I'm so glad I kept my mouth shut. I have zero desire to embarrass myself like those two actual losers," Noah thought quietly.

[Cinema Screen]

**Mess Hall – Killer Bass table**

Courtney looked around at her team and smiled confidently.

"Okay guys, time to strategize. Who are we voting off?"

[Reaction]

"I can already feel my funeral approaching," Courtney said sadly in the viewing room.

"It can't be that bad," Bridgette tried to comfort her.

[Cinema Screen]

The rest of the Killer Bass glared at her angrily.

"What?" Courtney asked, confused.

"What do you mean 'what', princess?!" Duncan slammed his fist on the table. "If you had jumped today, we probably would've won."

"He's got a point," Geoff added. "You completely screwed us when it mattered."

"Hey, last time I checked, I wasn't the only one wearing the chicken hat," Courtney fired back, pointing at DJ. "He didn't jump either!"

"True, but if we're talking future… I think most of us would rather keep the big guy around than you," Eva said with folded arms.

"You can't be serious. I'm the CIT! You need me! You can't get rid of me!" Courtney mocked.

"What we needed was for you to jump today. You didn't," Tyler replied.

[Reaction]

"I almost forgot — the only reason she didn't go first was Ezekiel," Tyler added.

"Yeah. Things might play out completely differently this season," Eva said, sounding surprisingly hopeful.

"Looks like you're first to go, princess. How's that feel?" Duncan asked with interest.

Courtney didn't answer. She just stared.

[Cinema Screen]

"This is ridiculous." Courtney turned desperately to Katie and Haku.

"Girls, you don't think we should take her out?"

"Well… you really should've jumped," Katie said shyly, still teary-eyed.

"Yeah, it wasn't even that bad," Haku added quietly. "It could've won us the challenge."

"But DJ didn't jump either!" Courtney almost screamed, close to tearing her hair out.

[Reaction]

"It always hurts when you try to send me home," DJ said sadly.

Courtney awkwardly rubbed her arm.

[Cinema Screen]

"Hey, I have a reason I don't jump, okay?" DJ said, hurt. "I'm afraid of jumping into water from high places."

"How do you even get a fear like that?" Harold asked.

"I don't want to talk about it," DJ answered quietly.

"Well, he had a reason. You just decided not to," Duncan barked at Courtney.

"You're making a huge mistake if you vote me off, you know that?"

"Sure," Duncan shrugged. "We'll see."

[Reaction]

"I'm done for," Courtney accepted her other self's fate.

[Cinema Screen]

Katie suddenly spoke up loudly:

"What if you guys sent **me** home instead?"

Ezekiel: "Why? You didn't do anything wrong."

Harold: "You shouldn't. I get that you miss your friend…"

[Reaction]

"Maybe there's still hope," Courtney thought hopefully.

[Cinema Screen]

Courtney got way too excited: "Then it's settled. We're voting you."

[Reaction]

"Nope. Hope officially dead," she thought, disappointed.

"I really should've kept my big mouth shut," Bridgette thought guiltily.

Geoff gently pulled his girlfriend into a hug.

[Cinema Screen]

Everyone stared at them in disbelief.

Even Duncan looked disappointed.

[Reaction]

Duncan and Courtney both felt very strange watching the scene.

Everyone else quietly accepted that the old spark was still there somewhere… but they also knew it belonged to the past.

"I love the drama," Chris thought with cruel sadistic glee.

[Cinema Screen]

**At the campfire ceremony**

"Welcome, campers, to your very first campfire ceremony!" Chris grinned excitedly at the miserable teens.

The Bass clearly weren't as thrilled as their host about being the first team to eliminate someone.

Many scowled; others glared.

Chris held up one of the ten marshmallows on a tray.

"This, right here, is a marshmallow. A delicious camp treat. Here on the island, it symbolizes survival. The right to stay in the game. When I call your name, come up and get your marshmallow. If you get one, you're safe. Whoever doesn't get a marshmallow has to immediately walk the Dock of Shame, get on the Loser Boat, and is gone. Forever."

The 11 campers looked at each other with grim determination. They nodded toward their host. The mood turned serious.

"First person safe… **Geoff**."

"Alright!" The party boy jumped up and ran to grab his treat.

"**Tyler**."

The jock clenched his fist and cheered.

"**Haku**."

She sighed in happy relief.

"**Bridgette**."

Geoff flashed a smile at the surfer girl; she grinned back and joined him.

"**Ezekiel**, **Harold**."

[Reaction]

"Wow, it's so weird seeing Ezekiel **not** go home first," Chris commented.

"You're telling me," Chef agreed.

"I'd laugh if he ever got close to the merge," Duncan grinned.

"I think he could make Top 5, actually," Izzy said sincerely.

"That's weird coming from you… but who knows," Eva replied curiously.

[Cinema Screen]

Harold raised his hand for a high-five. When Ezekiel just looked confused, Harold grinned and motioned for his new friend to join the safe group.

"**Duncan**."

The punk smirked confidently and ate the marshmallow on his way up.

"**And Eva**. You're all safe."

The super-athlete gave a stoic nod.

"**DJ**."

He sighed in huge relief as he took his immunity symbol and joined the others.

Now everyone turned their attention to Katie and Courtney.

[Reaction]

"No way Katie goes first," Sadie said, panicked.

"Calm down, Sadie. We'll see. Honestly, I don't even care about the game without you," Katie said, almost sincerely.

They hugged each other tightly while the others looked down.

[Cinema Screen]

"Campers… this is the final marshmallow of the night. The person who does not receive a marshmallow is eliminated and will never return to the island."

Katie looked happy; Courtney looked anxious.

Katie hummed cheerfully while Courtney chewed her nails.

"The final marshmallow of the night goes to…

**Katie!**"

[Reaction]

"Yes!!" Sadie cheered.

Katie smiled and hugged her plush friend.

"Come to think of it… she wasn't really that big of a loss. She was honestly meaner to me than Heather," Owen thought seriously.

[Cinema Screen]

Katie suddenly burst into tears and ran toward the girls' cabin.

The rest of the team stared in shock.

Ezekiel gently placed a hand on Haku's shoulder, signaling her to go after her friend.

Courtney's jaw dropped. She stared at her team in disbelief.

"Courtney… looks like you're getting the boot tonight," Chris said cheerfully.

"This is insane!" Courtney stomped her foot. "You people can't get rid of me! I'm the CIT!"

"And tonight you're gone," Chris chuckled. "Probably should've jumped. The Dock of Shame awaits."

Chris pointed toward the dock.

Eventually Courtney stood up reluctantly and started walking toward the Loser Boat.

"You're all going to regret this! This team will fall apart without me!"

"Whatever you say, princess," Duncan called after her as she boarded the boat and was taken away. "Have a nice life."

"And with that, campers, the rest of you are safe. Head back to your cabins."

The remaining ten Killer Bass did as they were told.

Chris turned to the camera for the sign-off.

"And there you have it! The very first elimination of the season. Who will be next to walk the Dock of Shame? Find out next time, right here, on TOTAL… DRAMA… ISLAND!"

[Reaction]

Everyone had mixed reactions.

Courtney completely lost it and fainted.

Bridgette ran to her side.

"That's enough for today. Rest now," King Piccolo said calmly.

Before anyone could protest, everyone was teleported into a comfortable room to rest.

Courtney and Bridgette ended up sharing a room — the former crying her eyes out on the bed, the latter comforting her.

(Sadie and Katie, as always, were sleeping together.)

[Cinema Screen]

**Remaining contestants:**

**Killer Bass:** Geoff, Duncan, DJ, Harold, Ezekiel, Katie, Haku, Tyler, Eva, Bridgette.

**Screaming Gophers:** Owen, Gwen, Trent, Cody, Izzy, Beth, Justin, Noah, Heather, Lindsay, Leshawna.

**Elimination order:**

22nd place: **Courtney**

[Reaction]

"Man… it feels so weird being human again, eh," Ezekiel said.

"Interesting. How does it feel not being the first one eliminated?" King Piccolo asked curiously.

"I don't even know how to put it into words, eh… but I'm grateful. Thank you," Ezekiel said sincerely.

"No problem. Let me know when you're ready to face your fellow contestants, Chris, and Chef again."

"Eh… that's gonna take some time. Especially Chris and Heather — they're probably the ones who hate me the most."

"Don't worry about Heather. Just apologize to her sincerely. I'll handle her money problem. As for Chris… I'll deal with him personally. You don't have to be afraid of him anymore, Zeke."

"Okay then… let's do this," Ezekiel said with newfound (but calmer) determination.
