Chapter 39 - Chapter 7-5

Gavv moved with a controlled fury, his Gavvgablade cutting through the air in wide arcs. He slammed a gummy fist into a Magia's chest, its armored plating CRUNCH. The robot staggered back, its internal mechanisms sparking violently. Another Magia raised its rifle, but a streak of green intercepted it. Timebreaker touched the robot's arm, and it froze instantly, dissolving into shimmering light.

ZAP!

Gavv followed through with a sweeping kick, shattering the dissolving Magia's legs. A distorted cackle echoed from the remaining Magia. Gavv pivoted, his blade humming, ready for the next assault. Suddenly, a shimmering temporal rift tore open beside them. The air crackled with raw energy, smelling like ozone and old iron. A second Timebreaker, identical to the first, stepped out, her energy canisters already glowing faintly. She moved with purpose, her eyes fixed on the remaining Magia.

"Need a hand?" the older Timebreaker asked, her voice a slightly deeper echo of the younger one's.

The younger Timebreaker grinned, a fierce, determined expression behind her visor. "Just in time!"

The two Timebreakers became a whirlwind of black and green, their movements synchronized. They darted around the remaining Magia, touching them one after another. Each touch resulted in a ZAP, and the robots dissolved into sparkling motes. Gavv watched, his blade lowered, as the last Magia faded from existence. The Trocadéro plaza was quiet once more, save for the faint hum of the older Timebreaker's energy canisters. She gave a curt nod to her younger self, then turned and stepped back into the shimmering rift. The temporal tear WHOOSHED shut, leaving only the lingering scent of ozone.

The younger Timebreaker turned to Gavv, her posture less rigid now. Her glowing green canisters, once full, showed a low, flickering light. She looked tired, her head tilted slightly.

"I need more power," she stated, her voice raspy. She began to skate toward Gavv, her movements sluggish, a faint tremor running through her form. Her hand reached out, the gesture slow and deliberate.

Gavv took a step back, his Gavvgablade held defensively. "I helped you," he said, his voice firm. "I won't let you just take my energy."

Ladybug and Cat Noir landed softly on the plaza pavement, their eyes wide with concern. Ladybug looked at Timebreaker, her voice filled with worry.

"Alix?" Ladybug asked, stepping forward tentatively. "What happened?"

Timebreaker stopped, her glowing visor fixed on Ladybug. "I am not Alix," she stated, her voice sharp. "I am Timebreaker now. I need to go back further in time. If you get in my way, I will just take what I need from you!"

Timebreaker lunged, a sudden burst of speed carrying her toward all three heroes, her depleted energy reserves doing little to slow her assault.

Timebreaker burst forward, a green blur shooting across the elegant paving stones of the plaza. Gavv reacted, his armor tightening as he slid back, trying to keep his distance. Ladybug swung her yo-yo, using a nearby lamppost to gain height, hoping to cut off the villain's path. Cat Noir extended his staff, attempting to trip Timebreaker, but she skated right over it, a mocking cackle echoing in the air.

WHOOSH!

Gavv parried a sweeping kick with his Gavvgablade, the impact sending a shiver through his arms. Timebreaker was faster than she appeared, even in her weakened state. She spun away, her glowing skates leaving faint trails on the stone. Cat Noir leapt onto a fountain's edge, his green eyes narrowed, trying to track her impossible speed. Ladybug landed gracefully atop a stone bench, her yo-yo spinning, seeking an opening.

"She is too fast for us," Gavv said, his voice low, a soft hum from his helmet.

"No kidding, Sugar Cube," Cat Noir replied, dodging a pass from Timebreaker that left a green energy trail sizzling where he had stood. "Any bright ideas, My Lady?"

Ladybug's gaze darted around the Trocadéro, her expression a mix of frustration and concentration. The challenge was clear, almost too simple. Timebreaker had no ranged attacks. They needed to pin her down. Her eyes settled on a large, red-and-black tarp covering something near the edge of the fountain, held down by heavy bolts.

"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug shouted, throwing her yo-yo high into the air.

FWOOSH!

A swirl of pinkish-red energy formed above her, coalescing into a single object. It dropped into her outstretched hands with a light CLINK. It was a shiny silver wrench.

"A wrench?" Cat Noir asked, his ears twitching with confusion. "Are we fixing a leaky pipe, My Lady?"

Gavv observed Ladybug, her eyes scanning the surroundings, the subtle shimmer of her "lucky vision" starting to activate. He recognized the look of a plan forming, a familiar tightening in his own core. The wrench, the tarp, the maintenance hatch—it clicked into place. They needed to create a trap.

Ladybug looked at Cat Noir, a determined glint in her bluebell eyes. "Cat Noir, the ground. Make it difficult for her to move."

Cat Noir grinned, understanding dawning in his eyes. He landed on the ground with a soft THUD.

"You got it, My Lady!" Cat Noir shouted.

"Cataclysm!"

CRACKLE!

He slammed his hand onto the smooth pavement, and dark, corrosive energy spread outward. The stone beneath Timebreaker's skates began to crack and bubble, turning into jagged, sticky rubble. The ground became a chaotic mess of broken concrete and tar. Timebreaker skidded, her skates catching in the newly created debris. She stumbled, her momentum disrupted for the first time. The element of surprise was now theirs, at least for a moment. Gavv moved, anticipating Ladybug's next move.

Timebreaker's movements became choppy, her skates struggling against the uneven, sticky terrain Cat Noir had created. The subtle green glow around her flickered, a sign of her power waning. Ladybug, seeing the opening, gestured with her head towards the maintenance hatch. Gavv understood. His Gavv tongue, usually hidden, extended from his helmet with a soft SCHLICK, a flash of blue against his armor. It coiled around the silver wrench Ladybug still held, tugging it gently from her grasp.

Gavv's tongue worked with precise, almost surgical speed. It rotated the wrench, the metal CLINKING softly as it loosened the heavy bolts holding the tarp in place. One by one, the bolts came free, falling with small TINK sounds onto the fractured pavement. The tarp, no longer anchored, billowed slightly in the breeze. A square, dark opening appeared where the maintenance hatch once sat, a void in the middle of the plaza. Timebreaker, attempting to pivot and regain her lost speed, caught the edge of the now loose tarp. Her skates tangled in the heavy fabric. She stumbled, a sharp cry escaping her lips as she fell backward into the open hatch. The other Timebreaker, still off balance from the rubble, also lost her footing and tumbled in after her.

THUMP!

The trap closed around them with a satisfying CLATTER.

Ladybug moved with swift grace, grabbing the corner of the heavy tarp. She pulled it taut, securing the Timebreakers' skates. Their frantic struggles from within the pit created a muffled THUMPING sound beneath the fabric. Ladybug's yo-yo snapped open, a red and black blur. She wrapped the string around the tangled skates, her hands moving with practiced efficiency. With a strong yank, she pulled the skates from Timebreaker's feet. A dark butterfly, released from the now-broken skates, fluttered upwards.

Ladybug captured the akuma in her yo-yo, the red energy purifying the darkness.

"Bye bye, little butterfly," she whispered, releasing it into the Parisian sky.

Gavv's Gavv organ opened, its blue lips parting to reveal the blocky white teeth within. He directed his gaze towards the remaining dark energy. The organ closed with a soft CHOMP, absorbing the residual power. It was a silent, efficient process, a grim reminder of the strange, protective biology that resided within him.

Ladybug tossed the silver wrench high into the air, its metallic gleam catching the sunlight.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" she exclaimed.

WHOOSH!

A wave of shimmering red ladybugs burst from the wrench, swirling outwards in a vibrant cloud. They rushed across the plaza, repairing the cracked pavement, restoring the displaced benches, and mending the mangled fountain. The shattered pieces of Alix's pocket watch, scattered on the ground, drew together, reforming into a perfect, gleaming silver heirloom. The ladybugs then dispersed, vanishing as quickly as they had appeared.

Alix, no longer under Hawk Moth's influence, stood in the plaza, her rollerblades now just ordinary shoes.

Gavv bent down, picking up the small silver pocket watch that lay precisely where Ladybug's magic had restored it. The delicate filigree caught the afternoon light. He extended his hand, offering the watch to Alix.

She looked down at the restored pocket watch in Gavv's outstretched hand,

"Thank you," Alix said, her voice softer than before, almost a whisper. "I shouldn't have given it to someone else to look after."

She clutched the watch, her fingers tracing its smooth surface.

"It was my responsibility," Alix admitted, a genuine regret coloring her words. "I messed up."

Ladybug landed beside her, a gentle hand on Alix's shoulder.

"Responsibility isn't something to be taken lightly," Ladybug stated, her voice firm yet kind.

Alix nodded, her pink hair swaying. "I will be more careful next time," she promised, her eyes meeting Gavv's through his helmet visor. "Thank you, Ladybug. And you too, Kamen Rider."

Alix gave a final, firm nod, her gaze lingering on the restored watch in her hand before she turned and walked away,

"You know, if there were two Alixs," Cat Noir mused, a playful smirk touching his lips, "I would love to see two Ladybugs."

"Keep talking like that, you are going to have to get used to zero," Ladybug replied, her tone dry but with a hint of amusement.

She turned to Gavv, her expression becoming serious. "Where do these robots come from, Kamen Rider? They feel connected to you somehow."

Gavv shifted, the cool plastic of his helmet feeling heavy. He knew the truth was dangerous, too much to share. "I am sorry," he said, his voice quiet. "I cannot reveal more."

Ladybug's earrings BEEPED, the sound sharp in the sudden quiet. Cat Noir's ring also flashed a warning.

"You need to start trusting us," Ladybug urged, her blue eyes filled with a worry that settled deep within Gavv.

"You both should go," Gavv stated, his voice tight. "Your transformations are about to be undone."

Ladybug looked at him once more, a silent plea in her gaze, before she nodded and swung her yo-yo, disappearing with Cat Noir into the Parisian skyline.
