Everything Zeke brought adhered to a truly incredible fact: they could be created out of nothing.
Wheat seeds just needed to be planted; no fertilizer required, and they would mature for use in a very short time.
The livestock known as "chickens" were the same. Feeding them accelerated their growth, but they would grow up just fine even without food.
Some scholars in the Officio Logisticarum scratched their heads but couldn't understand it. Since there was no energy intake, how exactly was the meat generated?
"Report. The detailed data is as follows."
"Wheat, carrots, and potatoes can be harvested approximately every 90 seconds."
"Chickens can breed once every 5 minutes and reach maturity in 20 minutes."
"We have currently stored 560 million units of wheat, 1.2 billion units of carrots..."
Zeke waved his hand. "Forget the data. Just one word: is it enough for the people of the entire Empire?"
"Enough. It is more than enough. And this is just from half a day."
The reporting Logisticarum staff member was so agitated he was incoherent.
As an elite selected for the Officio Logisticarum based on ability, he originally thought this was just another futile reform.
He had once numbly believed that no matter how hard he worked, he could not change the fate of the sinking ship that was the Imperium.
Until he saw Zeke's methods. In just half a day, the food shortage problem that had plagued the Imperium for ten thousand years was solved once and for all.
The atmosphere of decadence was swept away from this newly born Officio Logisticarum building.
Now, the people of the Officio Logisticarum clearly realized that their work was truly valuable, meaningful, and capable of saving the Imperium.
Everyone held their heads high with pride, full of motivation.
"When crops are directly beneath a light source, their growth speed reaches its maximum."
"One egg might smash out four chicks: Is this chance or traceable? How to maximize the probability of egg hatching?"
Various papers researching how to maximize Minecraft agricultural production were being written.
This unprecedented enthusiasm was the reason crop yields reached the billions in just half a day.
"Honestly, everyone was despondently saying the Imperium was beyond saving, but when there's actually hope, aren't they more energetic than anyone?"
Guilliman was like this, the Emperor was like this, and so were these Logisticarum personnel.
Zeke watched the Logisticarum staff coming and going, then looked at his Resident's Handbook.
This area had also been marked for free trade among residents.
For all the food grown, whether sold or given away, he got a cut in Emeralds.
Lying down and collecting money. Zeke felt smug as he watched his Emeralds rise frantically. A line of text popped up in his chat box.
[Mod: Villager Tales, Unlocked]
[Villagers now have more trading options and interactions.]
Villager Tales. This was a mod focused on improving villagers, adding many options to them.
Zeke saw his Emeralds rising even faster; Villager Tales increased the amount of Emeralds villagers traded.
With so many Emeralds, Zeke could upgrade the professions in his camp again.
Karmine's profession was upgraded to Level 2 first, unlocking special potions like Potion of Levitation, Potion of Slow Falling, and the like.
Dance's Blacksmith profession was upgraded to Level 2. Now he could attempt to break through the original enchantment limits, such as Sharpness VI or Sharpness VII.
A Logisticarum staff member hurriedly found Zeke and handed him an encrypted communique from Cadia.
"It's from Creed. What does that old man want now?"
Zeke took the dataslate, unlocked it, and his gaze swept over the brief line of text.
[The support fleet departed from Cadia has arrived in the Baal Sector. Contact was lost today.]
Zeke remembered. Just before leaving Cadia, he had entrusted Creed to send a fleet carrying a Nether Portal to the Baal Sector.
They arrived already? He hadn't expected the Cadian fleet to move so fast.
Zeke straightened up from his reclining position, reviewing the current situation of Baal.
Baal—the homeworld of the Blood Angels Chapter—was facing the nightmare of every living being in the galaxy: the Tyranids.
The Tyranids were arguably the most notorious enemy in the galaxy.
The insect race would devour all organic and inorganic matter in their path, turning it into biomass to convert into more swarms.
The Tyranids could absorb the superior genes of their prey, constantly evolving and adapting, becoming increasingly cunning and lethal.
Devour, evolve, more devouring, more powerful evolution.
While Zeke was playing in the mud on Cadia, the main tendril of the Hive Fleet had already breached the Cryptan Shield protecting Baal.
He was dealing with the Blackstone Fortress at the time and couldn't be in two places at once.
Now, the shadow of the swarm likely already shrouded Baal.
The fact that Creed's support fleet couldn't send a signal meant they had likely engaged the swarm or were already surrounded.
The urgent priority now was to connect the Nether Portal and find out what was happening there. Zeke could only hope this support wasn't too late.
"Notify Guilliman immediately. Tell him to put the Indomitus Crusade on hold for a moment; supporting Baal is more important."
The Logisticarum staff member took the order and left. Zeke walked quickly toward his camp, heading to Baal without any delay.
While Zeke was scouting a location to open the Nether Portal.
"Sanguinius... Zeke, before you go, come to the Palace." The Emperor's voice rang in his mind.
"What is it? Calling me over... do you have a way to resurrect Sanguinius?"
The Emperor remained silent. Sanguinius had long since turned to ash; the hope of resurrection was extremely slim.
However, this human before Him had restored even Him. What if he really had a way?
"Again?" Zeke complained. "I saved Guilliman, and I saved you. Now I have to save your other son, Sanguinius?"
"I have also been searching within the Webway recently." The Emperor's voice rang out again, revealing that He was also working hard to find the whereabouts of some of His Primarchs.
"Searching the Webway... are you looking for Jaghatai Khan?"
Zeke was a bit stunned. That guy didn't exactly have a good relationship with the Emperor; he was surprised the Emperor was being this proactive.
The Primarch of the V Legion, the White Scars, Jaghatai Khan also known as the Warhawk of Chogoris and the Imperium's Number One Throat Singer.
He went missing during a battle with the Dark Eldar after the Horus Heresy. Rumors said he was still wandering and fighting somewhere deep within the Eldar Webway.
He is definitely riding his modified void bike inside the Eldar Webway, addicted to drag racing. Who knows where he's sped off to by now.
For the Emperor to find him and bring him back... it would be hard. Too hard.
