"I brought her as a gift for you. The other night, I did not give you a gift, so I decided to bring her for you," Berryanna said, sitting down on her chair while talking to Straw.
Her voice was calm, almost casual, but her fingers tapped once against the armrest before going still.
Straw sat down, playing with the little kitten, who seemed to be enjoying herself. The kitten rolled onto its back, tiny paws reaching up, tail flicking. Straw laughed softly and rubbed its belly. Then her eyes shifted.
She looked at Berryanna's hand and realized she was not wearing the pearl bracelet.
Her fingers paused mid stroke.
"Princess, I have two questions to ask. Will you provide the answers if I ask?" Straw said.
"Go ahead, my lady," Berryanna replied.
Immediately, pink blush painted Straw's face when she heard her say my lady. Her lips parted slightly. She looked down at the kitten to hide it, but the smile remained.
"The kitten, how did you find her?"
