Chapter 17: Jae Sin Explodes
"Bang!"
Suddenly, a very loud noise rang out behind me, making me jolt and turn around to see what had happened.
Jo Hyun's pale, twisted face pressed tightly against the reinforced alloy glass was what met my eyes.
There was no need to guess. That kid was clearly furious after seeing me get a nosebleed while Guiding Jae Sin. But what else could I do? I could not just leave this awful guy to die.
Jae Hyo would be devastated.
I increased the intensity of the energy transmission into Jae Sin's body. With only 3 percent compatibility, 97 percent of my energy would be completely wasted, but at the very least, it would still have some effect.
Blood was still seeping from my nose, but what other choice did I have now?
"Bang!"
I glanced behind me. Jo Hyun looked extremely unstable, and the captain of the rank S Esper security team had already started moving in to restrain the kid.
"So disobedient…"
I had already expected that an Esper with a fire-type ability would have a fiery temper. How could Jo Hyun obediently sit in a corner and wait like I wanted?
Lee Do Ha, who was standing beside Cha Cha, caught my gaze and immediately understood. He ran over to Jo Hyun, grabbed his hand, and quickly performed emergency Guiding.
Jo Hyun struggled, trying to stop it, but after Lee Do Ha pointed toward me, Jo Hyun probably realized that this was unavoidable and finally calmed down.

I cursed inwardly, but at that very moment, the Guiding between Jae Sin and me was suddenly interrupted.
"What is going on…"
When I turned my head to look at Jae Sin, what struck my eyes was a pair of pupils emitting a terrifying purplish-red light.
What the hell is this…
"Boom!"
A massive wave of energy burst out from Jae Sin, who was lying on the bed, instantly blasting me away and sending me flying straight into the alloy wall with a heavy impact.
I slammed flat onto the floor after the collision. It felt as if my internal organs were twisting together in my abdomen, and I was about to vomit everything I had eaten that morning.
"Hngh… Jae Sin… this bastard!"
The violent energy filling the room was making it so hard to breathe that I felt like I was about to suffocate to death.
The alarm lights in the containment room lit up, and beeping sounds echoed throughout the entire base. Everyone realized that Jae Sin had likely completely lost control.
But just one minute earlier, everything had seemed perfectly normal.
Something must have happened to provoke Jae Sin, something we had absolutely no idea about.
At the center of the room, Jae Sin had already sat up and blown apart the metal restraints on his hands and feet. His rough hands tore off all the connected medical cables on his body.
Jae Sin's gaze completely ignored my existence, clearly proving that I was not the cause of this strange outburst.
Then who could it be?
Suddenly, Jae Sin's eyes shifted toward the observation room where Jo Hyun, Lee Do Ha, and Cha Cha were standing together. A thought flashed through my mind.
Could Jo Hyun's agitation have provoked this lunatic?
I immediately shouted,
"Stephen! Get them out of here right now and call Jae Hyo over immediately!"
Jae Sin, who had been sitting on the bed, stood up and instantly charged straight at the observation room, causing the reinforced glass to shatter!
So it turned out that this alloy mess still could not withstand a single strike from a rank SS Esper in a berserk state.
I struggled to run forward, shouting at Jo Hyun as I ran,
"Do your best to stop him. Do not let anything happen to Lee Do Ha and Cha Cha!"
If anything happened to them, Jena would beat me to death. Any Guide at the regional D headquarters was extremely valuable.
After opening the exit door and rushing out, I saw the wrecked scene inside the observation room. Cha Cha and Lee Do Ha were retreating under the protection of Stephen and the security team members, while Jo Hyun and Jae Sin had already collided head-on, their superpowered energies clashing everywhere.
Stephen said, "Hurry up, get Guide Kim Jun out of here!"
Two Espers rushed over to shield me.
"What is wrong with him?"
After regrouping with the Guides from our team, I asked, panting.
"And why are Jae Sin and Jo Hyun fighting? They have never even known each other before."
Lee Do Ha and Cha Cha looked at each other and shook their heads in confusion. Stephen, on the other hand, tightly pressed his lips together, glancing at me and then sneaking looks toward Cha Cha and Lee Do Ha.
I was certain that he had already guessed something.
"Stephen, Jae Sin is fighting an Esper trainee who has not even officially become a hunter yet. What exactly are you still trying to hide?"
Under my gaze, which was practically murderous, Stephen still swallowed and shook his head frantically.
"Please wait a moment. Esper Jae Hyo is already on his way!"
Stephen wiped the sweat from his forehead and cautiously tried to calm my anger, not forgetting to glance at Lee Do Ha and Cha Cha.
"We also have something we need to say to everyone after Esper Jae Hyo arrives!"
