Chapter 35 - Capturing Kirlia — A Double Battle!

It seemed that Aiden Flint's movements had already been noticed.

Or perhaps these two Kirlia had known since yesterday that Aiden was trying to capture them, so they had been secretly observing his every move from the shadows.

From the very beginning, the twin Kirlia had been following him—carefully avoiding detection. And when Aiden was about to give up, they had deliberately made noise to lure him back.

With their Telepathy ability, sensing danger and reading intentions was second nature to them. Being able to perceive Aiden's thoughts was hardly surprising.

At first, they had been unhappy about a Trainer who wanted to take both of them.

But after watching him for days—seeing how gently he treated his Pokémon, how he cared for them—they had gradually developed a better impression of him.

And since Aiden happened to fit their preference perfectly…

Their affection toward him had quietly risen to fifteen.

But before Aiden could act—

The twins suddenly vanished in a flash of light.

"Teleport?!"

Aiden's heart leapt.

The capture event only had two hours left. If they disappeared now, there wouldn't be enough time to find them again.

Had he really failed at the last moment?

Then—

The Kirlia reappeared right in front of him.

At the same time, a clear, gentle voice echoed inside his mind.

"So you're the Trainer who's been chasing us for two whole days?"

Aiden froze.

Then he realized—

They hadn't fled.

They had come to him.

Since they were showing initiative, that meant they were interested.

So Aiden smiled calmly.

"That's right. I do want to capture you."

"Judging by this, you probably knew I was around for a while now, didn't you?"

The younger twin looked surprised.

"You're sharp."

"But that alone isn't enough to make us follow you."

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? Then what are your conditions?"

The Kirlia twins exchanged a glance, their eyes filling with fighting spirit.

"Simple."

"A Double Battle. Defeat us, and we'll acknowledge you as our Trainer."

They liked gentle people—but a Trainer who wasn't strong could never truly earn their loyalty.

They wanted someone reliable.

Someone powerful.

And if Aiden wanted to capture twin Kirlia…

He would have to prove himself.

Two Kirlia with Telepathy and perfect coordination—

This would be a difficult Double Battle.

They didn't even need to speak to coordinate their actions.

But Aiden didn't back down.

Their levels were only 21.

He still had a chance.

He released his two Purple-tier Eevee.

One was Level 16.

The other was Level 19.

They were lower level—but both could use Ghost-type moves.

That was the key.

"Then let's begin."

The Double Battle started.

"Eevee—Dig!"

Both Eevee dove underground.

But against Psychic-types, Dig was useless. Kirlia could easily track them with telekinesis, and they could Teleport away at the moment of impact.

But Aiden never intended to hit them with Dig.

"Keep digging!"

Holes rapidly spread across the battlefield.

The Kirlia twins watched in confusion—

Then moved.

With a glance, both unleashed Confusion.

Psychic energy grabbed the two Eevee and ripped them from the ground, slamming them down.

Both Eevee were badly hurt.

The twins smiled.

And that was when Aiden's real plan began.

"Eevee One, stay underground and use Curse!"

"Eevee Two, move through the tunnels and fire Shadow Ball from every direction!"

Ghost-type energy erupted.

Shadow Balls shot out from countless holes at once.

There was nowhere to dodge.

By the time the Kirlia realized what was happening, it was already too late.

Shadow Balls detonated across the field.

Curse activated.

Ghost-type damage tore through Psychic-types with brutal effectiveness.

Both Kirlia were blasted away, collapsing.

Aiden threw two Park Balls.

Click.

Click.

"Ding! Capture successful."

He had done it.

The Kirlia twins—

Were his.
