It started with a single, impossible wish.I had
never believed in magic, but there it was—a genie,
flickering from an ancient lamp I'd found in the
attic.
"You may have one wish," it said, voice like wind
over glass. "Choose wisely."
I thought of everything—wealth, fame, power. And
then it came to me, clear as sunlight through a
window: Comprehensive immortality. No death.
No decay. Perfect health. Infinite time.
"Done," the genie said, and vanished in a swirl of
gold smoke.
At first, nothing seemed different. I woke the next
day as usual, went to school, ate breakfast,
played outside. My body felt the same—healthy,
strong—but ordinary. I didn't know yet how
extraordinary life would become.
