Chapter 1 - Cai Kun Reborn — Jade Sea of Westeros

(Invincible story. You may leave your brain here for safekeeping; the author will personally look after it. Don't worry.)

On the boundless sea, as far as the eye could see, a dilapidated pirate ship barely ten meters long drifted forward with the wind.

Jack Sea Dog leaned against the railing of the deck, gazing out at the endless ocean, silently pondering his plans for the future.

His original name was Cai Kun. Back on Blue Star in the 21st century, he had been an elevator maintenance worker, earning a little over ten thousand a month.

On ordinary days, he acted as a keyboard warrior online; on payday, he'd go get his feet washed. Though single, his life was fairly comfortable.

Then, not long ago, he died suddenly in front of his computer.

When he woke up again, he had already become a pirate in the world of Game of Thrones, known as Jack Sea Dog.

The former owner of this body was sixteen years old. His old man was a pirate with three underlings.

Though calling him a pirate was a stretch—he was more like a thief, only capable of robbing small fishing boats.

Some time ago, his old man insisted on pulling off a big job. The result was obvious—he was beaten to death on the spot by the guards of Qarth.

Thus, Cai Kun—now Jack Sea Dog—naturally became the owner of this ship, the Sea Dog.

He really had no idea how much the former owner's father loved sea dogs.

Originally, there had been three crew members on the ship. Two of them died together with the old man in Qarth.

The remaining one took all the few silver coins on board and ran.

As for the former owner's death, it was also because of that crewman—the one who stole the silver. His nickname was Shrimp Head; the old man used to call him Shrimp Head Man.

When he was leaving with the money, the former owner caught him in the act. Shrimp Head smashed him on the head with an iron rod, never expecting to kill him outright.

Now, the most valuable thing on the entire ship was a three-month-old little ewe. The old father had bought her for Jack's "use."

It was well known that when ewes went into heat, they were nicknamed succubi. Unfortunately, the former owner died before he ever got to use her.

Every time Jack saw the little ewe, he felt an absurd sense of unreality.

"Baa~"The little ewe, Evelyn, trotted over and rubbed against Jack's calf.

"Mm, thank the gods Shrimp Head didn't take you with him," Jack said, bending down to pat Evelyn's head.

When Shrimp Head fled, he only took the money. He didn't take the food—or Evelyn—which was why Jack, freshly transmigrated, managed to survive.

"System, are you done loading yet?" Jack had been here for two days already. When he checked this morning, the system was at 99%.

[Ding. System loading complete. The system reports to you.]

[Hello, dear Host. My name is KK, the latest-generation intelligent system developed by the Supreme God Civilization.]

[So, Host—magnificent, isn't this high-magic world?]

"High-magic world? Uh… do you know Game of Thrones?"

[I do. It was originally one of the mid-magic worlds. Later, after a Middle-earth war, it fell into a low-magic world.]

Jack frowned.

Oh no. This system looked very intelligent, but it was actually an idiot!Could it really help him reach the peak of life like the systems in novels?

At this moment, the system also noticed something was off.

[Host, how long did I take to boot up?]

Jack replied helplessly, "About thirty-plus hours. Less than two days."

[@#¥%...#¥...@#¥@#,how could this happen?]

"How would I know?" Jack said speechlessly.

[Damn it. First job and I'm already losing money.] KK muttered internally.

[Dear Host, I can give you one lottery draw per year. Your beginner gift pack has been issued. I'm going to absorb the world origin now.]

Originally, KK could give one lottery draw per day. It was an extremely advanced lottery system.

But the origin level of this world was too low, so it could only manage once a year.

And KK had no intention of staying by Jack's side—or even in this world.

Otherwise, it would never meet its performance metrics. When it returned to the Supreme God Civilization, wouldn't it be laughed at by its peers for a lifetime?

KK turned its gaze toward the low-level gods and demigods of this world, preparing to secretly absorb them!

Anyway, countless low-level gods died every epoch. Losing a few from this low-magic world didn't matter.

That would make up for the energy expenditure of this transmigration.

At most, within a month, it could harvest all the world origin power it needed.

Then it would run away directly, leaving this host to mess around here. In any case, the high-magic world's beginner gift pack was enough for the host to survive.

"Wait a second. If you absorb the world origin and this world collapses, won't I be finished?" Jack suddenly spotted a blind spot.

KK was already in a bad mood and snapped back directly:[Are you an idiot?

World origin is like leeks—you can harvest it periodically, as long as you don't destroy the roots.]

"Hey, you little blackie, do you have any manners? How dare you curse at me?" Jack instantly got angry. How could it talk to its master like that?

Thus, under Evelyn's blank stare, Jack cursed at the air for more than ten minutes before finally stopping.

"Damn! Fuck!" Jack slammed his fist hard against the railing.

How could a human possibly be a match for a system?

After being cursed at by the system in nonstop, non-repeating phrases for over ten minutes, Jack felt like he was about to explode with rage—just like his ex-girlfriend from his previous life.

"If only it were a low-IQ system. Anyway, the combat level of the Game of Thrones world isn't that high," Jack grumbled.

"Baa~" Evelyn bleated softly.

"No, no, no, I didn't lose! That dog system has already been cursed into depression by me. It'll take it a year to recover!"Even though he knew Evelyn couldn't understand, Jack still said it out loud, as if that would give him some sort of spiritual victory.

After that, Jack went to the deck, grabbed a bucket, tied a rope to it, and hauled up a bucket of seawater.

The system had just given him a beginner gift pack and a lottery draw. Naturally, he had to wash his hands before drawing.

Fresh water was far too precious at sea, so seawater would have to do.

Water was water—what difference did it make?

After carefully washing his hands, Jack summoned the system interface. A huge roulette wheel appeared.

Although KK had gone to extract world origin, the system's basic functions were still usable.

With a thought, the wheel began spinning rapidly, then slowly came to a stop on a blue egg.

"Holy shit, what is this thing?"

As Jack was wondering, the system description popped up.

[Godzilla Hatchling: A legendary creature modified by the system. Once taken out, it will hatch immediately. It will obey you completely and can understand your speech. Adult height: 200 meters.]

After reading the description, the joy on Jack's face was impossible to hide.

A Godzilla hatchling was absolutely invincible in the Game of Thrones world!Even if an adult Godzilla wasn't as massive as a two-hundred-year-old ancient dragon, in terms of raw power, the two weren't even in the same league.

Delighted, Jack opened the beginner gift pack as well. With Godzilla as a guaranteed trump card, the contents of the beginner pack almost didn't matter anymore.

Yet the beginner pack did not disappoint him at all. There were four items in total.

[Unknown Longsword: A longsword made of a miraculous alloy from a certain Marvel universe. Cuts iron like mud, slices hair on contact.]

[One Crate of Self-Heating Hotpot: Contains 12 boxes of self-heating hotpot in various flavors. Can be used to fill your stomach in critical moments.]

[Worker Ant Serum: A serum from a certain Marvel parallel universe. It strengthens your body. Don't worry—there are no side effects. The first injection will also heal illnesses and hidden injuries.]

[Heart of the Ocean: After transplantation, you will become the ocean's favored child. You may swim freely in the sea. Any injury or negative status will self-heal or be removed. Even after death, the ocean can revive you—though revival may take quite some time (please do not recklessly attempt suicide!).]

Jack was grinning from ear to ear. This system was seriously impressive.

The beginner pack rewards were this good.

Especially the Heart of the Ocean. After transplantation, not only would he gain deep-sea diving abilities, but also terrifying regenerative power.

He could even revive after death—though he had no idea how long revival would take.

In truth, all these items were prepared for higher-level worlds. For some unknown reason, Jack had been sent to the Game of Thrones world instead.

That was why the beginner pack felt outrageously luxurious.

Jack first took out the longsword. Once items were taken out of the system, they couldn't be put back.

The sword was entirely silver in color, about four fingers wide. The hilt was plain and unadorned.

In Game of Thrones, the most common longswords were two to three fingers wide. Thinner rapiers and flexible swords existed too, but were rare.

There was nothing particularly flashy about it—overall, it looked ancient and imposing. Jack liked it very much.

He'd been afraid the system might give him something overly fancy but completely impractical.

After setting the sword aside, Jack took out the Worker Ant Serum and the self-heating hotpot.

The serum was contained in a metal cylinder about ten centimeters long. With a light press on the end, a needle popped out.

Taking a deep breath, Jack injected the serum into his body. A wave of heat immediately surged through him, lasting about a minute.

His previously cracked, rough skin became fair and smooth again. He grew five centimeters taller, turning into a handsome 1.8-meter-tall man.

Looking at the battered bronze mirror, he saw a sharp-browed, star-eyed handsome face. His golden-white hair and pale purple eyes were striking.

His old man had once said he came from the bed slaves of Slaver's Bay. Now that he thought about it, it seemed very possible.

With a face this handsome, he would definitely be popular with noble ladies. As that thought crossed his mind, Jack touched his own "longsword" and found that he truly was "gifted!"

After that, Jack hoisted Evelyn onto his shoulder and did dozens of squats, gaining a preliminary understanding of the serum's enhancement.

Roughly double—though the exact figure wasn't clear yet. He tested a few other things afterward.

Based on what he could lift, Jack estimated his strength at around three hundred jin. With training, it could reach four hundred.

That was an extremely good figure. Even the heavy greatsword provided by the system went from feeling unwieldy to smooth in his hands.

Moreover, the serum didn't just enhance strength—it also boosted endurance and metabolism across the board.

This gave Jack greater resistance to damage and faster recovery.

Finally came the transplantation of the Heart of the Ocean. As soon as he took it out, the system automatically completed the procedure.

After the transplant, Jack didn't feel anything special.

The only change was a pair of gills behind his ears that he could freely control. When not in use, they could be hidden beneath the skin.

The Heart of the Ocean didn't seem to enhance his physical attributes directly, but it would slowly transform his body, allowing him to gradually adapt to the pressure of the deep sea.

At last, Jack turned his gaze to the self-heating hotpot and unconsciously licked his lips. He'd been eating dry bread for so long that he was sick of it.

The ship's dry bread was nothing like the dry bread from his previous life.

This stuff was basically as hard as a brick. Every time he ate it, he had to soak it in water for a long time first.

As for the stored fresh water, there was a layer of green algae floating on top.

There was no way to avoid that. The taste was as deadly as the filthy drainage ditch back in his old village.

The ship's only meat—the smoked sausage—was also indescribable in flavor. Every meal felt like torture to Jack.
