Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Fire

Arthur led his soldiers.

Taking advantage of the dark and windy night, they quietly approached the wildmen's camp.

These wildmen really hadn't retreated.

It seemed they had the same idea as he did.

It was just that he had seized the initiative.

The Deep Valley City soldiers were creating a diversion in the camp outside Deep Valley City.

They lit more bonfires at night, creating the illusion that Arthur's army had not moved.

Although he had a "small conflict" with Lofo Deep Valley.

But for that half of the loot captured outside the city, his body was still very honest.

To avoid problems, he specifically dragged all the items over.

Although it wasted marching time, leaving them outside Deep Valley City meant Lofo Deep Valley might have ulterior motives.

"Are you ready?" Arthur asked Lucien beside him in a low voice.

Arthur felt a bit uncertain.

Once this battle began, although they could seize the initiative at first, it would truly be a head-on clash afterward.

The Deep Valley family was unwilling to lend troops.

He only had over three hundred men, which was about the same number as the wildmen.

This war, stopping and starting, sacrifice and replenishment, replenishment and sacrifice.

Only half of the people who initially followed him remained.

Not a single coward!

The righteous are often butchers.

Whenever he thought of this, Arthur told himself that after the war, he must take good care of their families.

The rest were refugees who had been supplemented along the way and were full of hatred for the wildmen.

Although his soldiers' combat effectiveness and will were completely guaranteed, their equipment was too poor.

Hakon nodded: "Master, don't worry, everything is ready!"

"Those beasts are all soaked in grease."

Arthur's gaze swept over the soldiers crouching and squatting in the darkness.

They were holding several livestock caught earlier for diversion.

These animals were completely soaked in grease and tied with dry grass.

"Lucien, your men advance from the flank, forming a pincer movement," Arthur turned to Lucien on the other side. "Keep pushing forward; we'll come from the other side and squeeze them into a narrow area."

Lucien patted the longsword at his waist: "Master Arthur, rest assured! Lucien will absolutely not fail!"

Bronn didn't know where he had run off to, but he certainly wouldn't dare to flee.

He had given him a pile of IOUs and hadn't settled the accounts yet...

Arthur said no more and raised his hand.

The soldiers raised their lit torches.

Faint flickers of fire danced in the darkness.

"Release!" Arthur commanded!

How can one gain renown without taking risks on the march?

Success and fame are achieved in this one action!

The soldiers cut the ropes and fiercely slashed the animals' hindquarters with their knives.

The animals, in pain, rushed forward.

The soldiers quickly ignited the grease on the animals' bodies.

Flames suddenly erupted on the animals, and in extreme pain, they let out piercing howls.

Anyone who heard them felt tormented.

They instinctively rushed forward.

The firelight and screams tore through the night.

In the High Mountain Clan wildmen's camp, where tents were haphazardly built from animal hides and withered branches and leaves, the dry animal hides and withered grass ignited instantly, and the fire spread rapidly.

"Enemy attack!"

"Enemy attack!"

The High Mountain Clan wildmen's camp immediately erupted in chaos.

Wildmen awakened from their sleep rushed out of their tents, ill-equipped.

There were flames everywhere.

Blazing fires and panicked fire-animals running wildly.

The High Mountain Clan wildmen had no idea what was happening.

They were just about to turn around and attack the Plainsmen, to kill that sixteen-year-old war leader.

The name "Arthur" was already deeply ingrained in every wildman's mind.

They wished they could eat his flesh, chop off his head, and bathe their entire bodies in his blood!

But now, fantasy met reality.

Piercing screams, terrified shouts, and the crackling of burning flames merged into a single cacophony.

Many wildmen didn't even understand what was happening before they were engulfed by the sudden flames in their tents or fell in the chaos and were trampled by their panicked tribesmen.

Ti Meis son Ti Mei was awakened by the commotion and heat outside his tent.

He always kept his weapon with him, no matter what he was doing.

He instantly drew his longsword and rushed out of the animal-hide tent.

The scene before him made his single eye bulge with fury.

There were towering flames everywhere!

There were fleeing and roaring tribesmen everywhere!

The air was filled with the scent of roasted meat and burning charcoal.

"Hold steady! Everyone, hold steady for Ti Meis son Ti Mei!" Ti Meis son Ti Mei ran and roared in a frenzy.

"Pick up your weapons! The Plainsmen are outside! The Burning Men Tribe will never be scared by fire!"

His voice drowned out some of the chaos.

The Burning Men Tribe wildmen's lives were intertwined with fire.

They self-mutilated with fire, gaining their honor and existence within the tribe through fire.

Under Ti Meis son Ti Mei's furious roar, they gradually stabilized their formation.

Under his roar and the roars of several tribal chiefs beside him, a portion of the wildmen began to recover from their initial panic.

They started donning their equipment and grabbing their weapons.

However, several tribal chiefs, seeing the towering flames and widespread chaos, led their tribesmen directly away, heading towards the High Mountain.

They had long lost their ambition.

They only wanted to take their remaining able-bodied tribesmen back to the High Mountain.

If they all died here, they didn't know if their remaining tribesmen could survive the harsh winter of the High Mountain.

If not for their fear of the terrifying Burning Men Tribe, they would have left long ago.

They shouldn't have trusted Ti Meis son Ti Mei of the Burning Men Tribe.

Originally, in the High Mountain, they would occasionally descend to raid Plainsmen villages, travelers, and merchants.

How could they have encountered such disaster today!

Arthur calmly watched all of this until the fire reached its peak and the wildmen's chaos was at its extreme.

He drew his longsword.

"Brothers!"

"After today!"

"The Three Rivers will sing of our legends!"

"The Three Rivers will resound with our renown!"

The sword's blade reflected his image in the firelight and also the reflections of the soldiers around him.

"Roar!" "Roar!" "Roar!" Arthur's soldiers roared with all their might! "Roar!" "Roar!" "Roar!"

Like tigers unleashed from their cages.

He swung his longsword, replacing a verbal command!

Lucien blew the horn!

"Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!"

The majestic sound of the horn echoed through heaven and earth.

This time, Arthur did not let them disperse and charge as they did last time.

Instead, they formed a military formation, forming a relatively tight line, with spears thrusting out from the gaps in their shields.

Two military formations of one hundred and fifty men each, from the left and right flanks, steadily pressed towards the wildmen's camp, which was ablaze with fire, step by step.

"Charge with me! Kill all those Plainsmen sheep!" Ti Meis son Ti Mei brandished his longsword, leading the Burning Men Tribe warriors at the very front. "Charge with me! Charge with me!"

He knew that at this moment, if he didn't lead his Burning Men Tribe tribesmen to charge at the very front, the remaining tribes that hadn't left would definitely depart.

The charge of the Burning Men Tribe was blocked by the tight military formation.

They fiercely attacked the soldiers in the first row, kicking them hard.

No one retreated, no one panicked.

Step by step, the formation remained tight.

The charging wildmen, instead, were constantly stabbed by the outstretched spears.

The two formations steadily advanced step by step.

Ti Meis son Ti Mei understood.

The opponent's goal was everyone, to squeeze them from both flanks and finally force them into the center, to completely surround them and leave them all.

He still had a chance now.

Ti Meis son Ti Mei gripped the longsword in his hand!

He could order everyone to flee, but he couldn't bring himself to say it.

He knew that time was critical on the battlefield.

Once the encirclement was formed, they would never be able to leave.

Finally, he spoke.

But, what he said was, Ti Meis son Ti Mei roared,

"Kill Arthur!"

"Kill Arthur!"
