Chapter 90 - The Great Old One, Cthugha

Now that Nyaruko had chosen to fully disclose the information, Toya knew he had to pay close attention.

He needed the intelligence to form targeted countermeasures, ensuring he wouldn't face the Great Old One, Cthugha, completely unprepared.

Nyaruko pouted and snorted lightly. "Darling is such a bad man."

"You call Nyaruko when you need information, and then you send me away when you don't."

"If you don't want to say anything, fine." Toya decided not to press her.

He had a feeling that if he didn't agree to some of Nyaruko's conditions soon, he might not get the crucial intelligence.

[System Notice: World Commission issued: The Great Old One, Cthugha, is about to strike!]

[Please defeat Cthugha's plot and overcome her challenge fair and square!]

[Commission Reward: 100,000 Source Points, Unknown Reward.]

"Fair and square?"

"You must be insane!" Toya scoffed, as if hearing an unbelievable fairy tale.

If the system had a mind, he would shout and lecture it: "Do you even know what a Great Old One is? Why are these myths called myths?"

Even the Nyarlathotep wouldn't guarantee defeating the Great Old One Cthugha, yet the system demanded he win honorably.

Grumbling aside, Toya analyzed the information from the system's World Commission.

His only connection to the Great Old One, Cthugha, was the Evil God Nyaruko.

Although he had zero interest in the Evil God Nyarlathotep, the Great Old One Cthugha was deeply in love with her.

Strictly speaking, they were rivals.

"Oh, I get it."

Toya glanced at Nyaruko's face and then thought of her true form, which made him shiver. I think I have a much higher chance of success if I just punch Cthugha in the face.

Nyaruko blinked her emerald eyes. "Darling, you need to prepare."

"Kuuko is on her way and should arrive soon."

"Although she won't descend in her True Body, she will definitely bring Avatars, just like Nyaruko."

As if thinking of something, Nyaruko's exquisite face broke into a sly grin. "Hehe, of course, Darling, if you just give Nyaruko a kiss..."

"Nyaruko will help Darling chase Kuuko away!"

"Even the Evil God Nyarlathotep outside the world will help!"

"No thanks. I'll find a way to defeat Cthugha myself." The intense temptation was easy to refuse.

He would only consider such a deal if his sense of beauty changed from human girls to Outer Goddesses.

Nyaruko was unfazed by his refusal and simply hummed. "Hmph, I believe Darling will eventually agree to Nyaruko's terms!"

"But by then, one kiss won't be enough!"

She knew the value of timing; when it was time to raise the price, you raised the price.

The taxi quickly reached its destination. Toya said calmly, "Stop daydreaming. Let's get out."

After nearly two weeks, Toya looked at the sign for the Trash Fox Detective Agency and felt emotional.

Who would have thought a transmigrator would be caught up in an Evil God's Banquet?

Just the prelude to the banquet involved facing terrible enemies.

An entire city of living anomalies, with enemies visible everywhere he looked.

I really need to thank Shishou, Toya thought silently.

The only reason he managed to fight his way through the corrupted city was entirely due to Scáthach's training.

Without her tutelage, his chances of passing would have been minuscule.

Nyaruko's beautiful eyes twinkled with excitement. "Ooh, is this Darling's home?"

"Will Nyaruko live with Darling in this warm little house from now on?"

"It looks great, though it lacks the scent of Mystery."

"The scent of Mystery..." Toya thought, looking exasperated.

The Tower of Holy Glory certainly had the scent of Mystery, but it was too overwhelming.

The entire building was warped by the Evil God's aura, completely becoming a living anomaly.

It was a convergence of ominousness, distortion, and disaster—all factors extremely detrimental to humans.

Frankly, even if the Tower of Holy Glory looked like a normal office building, anyone who dared to step inside would immediately be cursed.

A lucky person would become cursed with bad luck, attracting consecutive misfortunes.

An ordinary person couldn't survive a single day inside.

Toya retrieved the spare key he had hidden under the doormat, unlocked the agency door, and stepped inside.

Nyaruko sensed something. She looked at Toya's back and grinned mischievously. "Darling, you can only blame yourself for treating Nyaruko so coldly!"

"Don't blame me for what happens next!"

Toya stepped into the hall and nodded in satisfaction. "Utaha still keeps the place clean."

The agency wasn't currently open for business, but it was spotless.

The Angel Halo in the display case still shone with a gentle white light, indicating meticulous daily care.

"Nyaruko, hand me The Scripture of the Way!" Toya told her. "I need to go seal it."

Nyaruko smiled sweetly. "Darling, please seal it properly!"

"And of course, it would be even better if you threw it in the toilet to seal it. Don't worry about being polite to them."

"They are gods, after all." Toya gave her a wry smile.

Even though the Eastern Divinities were lunatics, they were still deities.

Mortals should treat gods with reverence.

Even though he currently hated them.

Nyaruko huffed in dissatisfaction. If the Scripture had fallen into her hands, throwing it in the toilet to seal it would be considered a merciful act.

Toya walked toward a rear door, intending to use the inner passage to reach the second floor.

In the second-floor room, he had stored the exquisite gift boxes Nyaruko had given him and two sets of black-and-white tailcoats.

Now, he could use the furthest corner room on the second floor to store various extremely dangerous supernatural items.

Not far away, Nyaruko watched Toya with anticipation, as if something unmissable was about to happen.

The moment the rear door started to open, Nyaruko held her breath and instantly pulled out a camera, ready to record the event.

It's coming! The surprise is coming!

Toya was completely unaware of Nyaruko's reaction. Who would ever suspect danger inside their own home?

Especially since the Angel Halo was stationed in the house, preventing any malicious anomaly or evil spirit from successfully invading.

Toya, completely unguarded, opened the door.

The moment the door opened, a massive shadow instantly blocked his sight.

A giant dragon's head completely occupied the space behind the doorway, its golden eyes staring directly at Toya.

The heavy dragon breath, like a hurricane, ruffled Toya's hair.

Toya stared blankly at the dragon's head.

BAM!

The next second, the door slammed shut.

"What was that? This is my house, isn't it?"

Toya started to doubt whether he had entered the wrong apartment. He certainly hadn't adopted a giant dragon.

Click! Click! Click!

The sound of a camera shuttering rapidly filled the air. Nyaruko was excitedly taking pictures of Toya's look of utter disbelief.
