He administered first aid on me so that I could at least stand and walk. He was nothing like how my master had described people from the outside. As he eased the pain, he kept smiling to reassure me that everything would be alright. But suddenly, a look of worry crossed his face. Without warning, he shoved me aside and drew his blade.
Moments later, one of the people who had attacked me leapt out from the bushes, it seemed they had been tracking us. Without hesitation, he eliminated the threat, I was terrified. The people who had pushed me to the brink of death were defeated so easily by a man who didn't even look that powerful.
He turned to me and told me to run deep into the mountains.
I hesitated.
I had never gone that far before and had no idea where to go. I truly thought I was going to die. Then he placed something into my hand and said, "Do not worry. Let luck lead the way." He smiled.
And so I ran as fast as I could. The item he gave me surrounded my entire body with a refreshing green light that felt comforting. As I went deeper into the mountains, the pain and fatigue caught up with me. I tried everything not to lose consciousness, but it was no use. Before I knew it, I had blacked out.
Meanwhile, where the green sworded swordsman stood, he sensed several people approaching. He had let Xavier go because he didn't want the boy to get hurt any further. He waited until Xavier was far enough, before attempting to escape but then he realized the boy was still within the area. The soldiers had split into two groups to pursue both of them.
Just as he was about to turn back to help Xavier, soldiers emerged from nature's shadows, many of them skilled in shadow arts. Blades were drawn. Both sides fought with deadly intent - one to carry out orders, the other to save a life. This was looking dangerous for Xavier. Even though the swordsman was highly skilled, facing multiple opponents near to his own level while conserving energy and attempting to protect the boy was not easy.
On Xavier's side, while he laid unconscious, a strong wind swept over the slope of the hill and carried him into a nearby stream with rapid currents, unknowingly protecting him from his pursuers.
By the time this occurred, the swordsman had defeated half of their men. Seizing the opportunity, he escaped as well. They tried to follow him, but he was too fast for them and both he and Xavier successfully escaped.
Later, while Xavier was still in the stream, he was found by people from the nearby area. As they lifted him, they noticed his hand was tightly clenched. When they gently opened it, they found a four leaf clover.
As the sun rose over the horizon, the swordsman drew closer to his destination when suddenly, an arrow fired from the peak of the mountain and struck him.
