Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Foster Pokémon

After seeing his Grandpa and Grandma off, Lucas returned to the Breeding House, holding the Lucky Egg and examining it carefully.

It was egg-shaped, cool and smooth to the touch. After playing with it for a bit, he handed it to Gengar, letting him have it to play with.

Lucas didn't plan to sell this Lucky Egg; both in terms of significance and effect, it was worth keeping for himself.

After learning how effective the petilil herbal tea was, Lucas had Gengar fetch his notebook to start planning for the Breeding House's future.

Firstly, the Cheat would reward certain specific items under specific circumstances, which could be sold. Pokémon Eggs could also be sold, and there was also the consignment service for Pokémon.

Secondly, Lucas decided to launch a herbal tea service, suitable for both humans and Pokémon. Therefore, he needed to learn more about this area. The herbs planted today could also be used to brew herbal tea. Lucas was prepared for this service not to be very profitable.

Next, he would gradually introduce some gourmet dishes. With his Grandma's recipes in hand, the dishes he made would have a chance to trigger beneficial buffs, improving mood. So, he planned to turn these dishes into a unique 'dietary therapy' for his Breeding House.

As for Grandma's item list, most of them were wood carvings, which he currently didn't have the conditions for, so he planned to consider them later.

Therefore, in the coming period, Lucas intended to thoroughly research these areas, while also needing to figure out what other effects his Cheat had.

Lucas buried his head, writing down one plan after another, then meticulously refining them.

Watching Lucas engrossed in work, Gengar carefully put away the Lucky Egg, then floated through the wall to the kitchen. He searched around, found a few Berries, and began making Berry Juice by hand, mimicking Lucas.

"Kou... Koujie."

Hearing Gengar's somewhat dejected voice, Lucas curiously looked up.

"What's wrong, Gengar?"

Hearing Lucas's words, Gengar brought out the Berry... paste he was holding.

"Koujie..."

It failed... Seeing Gengar's dejected expression and looking at the cup in his hand, Lucas realized what happened.

Gengar was still in a state of dejection. He wanted to make Lucas a delicious Berry Juice but messed it up. Feeling guilty, he suddenly felt the cup in his hand being taken away.

"Koujie?"

He looked up and saw that Lucas had eaten all the Berry paste in the cup.

"The taste isn't bad, actually?"

Lucas was a little surprised, but he looked at Gengar, chewing, and said with a smile, "Thank you, Gengar, it tastes pretty good."

"Koujie?"

Really?

Lucas nodded, handed him the cup, and then continued, "Next time, I'll teach you how to make Berry Juice. Would you like to learn?"

Gengar's face broke into a smile again, and he squinted his eyes, laughing... On the road to Twinleaf Town, a bespectacled man with a backpack walked with his head down towards Twinleaf Town.

Passing by the Breeding House, he looked up, a little puzzled: "When did a Breeding House open here?"

Looking at the introduction on the sign, he thought for a moment, then walked inside.

"Hello, is there anything I can help you with?"

Lucas saw a guest walk in, pulled Gengar's mouth into a smile, then approached the guest and said gently.

Seeing this, Gengar floated back to the kitchen to tidy up.

"Hello, when did a Breeding House open here?"

The bespectacled man asked, looking at the surrounding facilities.

"Just recently. I am the owner of this Breeding House, Lucas."

Lucas patiently explained.

The bespectacled man looked at Lucas in front of him, who appeared a little younger than himself, yet had a gentle and confident smile. At the same time, a Gengar floated out from the wall behind and came to his side.

He felt the powerful strength contained within Gengar, which was considerably stronger than his main Pokémon.

Seeing this, the bespectacled man finally spoke: "I'd like to board my Pokémon, is that possible?"

Hearing that he was here to board Pokémon, Lucas's eyes lit up. Finally, someone had come to board Pokémon.

He nodded and said, "Of course, I can first show you around our Breeding House's grounds."

After Lucas finished speaking, he made a 'please' gesture and then led the way towards the back grounds.

The bespectacled man followed, stepping through the door, and a large area appeared before his eyes.

The environment was very well maintained, and he saw a few Machamp working.

After a tour, he was very satisfied with the place.

Seeing his expression, Lucas knew it was settled. He then continued, "We can also help with breeding here, but you'll need to provide the Pokémon."

The bespectacled man nodded, then pulled out his Poké Balls.

Immediately after, several flashes of red light appeared, and a few Pokémon appeared before Lucas.

Torterra

Attribute: Grass, Ground

...Electivire

Attribute: Electric

...Ambipom

Attribute: Normal

...Lucas briefly checked their conditions. Without exception, their moods had hit rock bottom.

"You all rest here for a while. Once I've adjusted my state, I'll come pick you up, and then we'll continue our journey."

The bespectacled man said, looking at his Pokémon.

Then he looked at Lucas, "I'll leave them to you, boss."

Lucas nodded and said, "Don't worry, we'll take good care of them. After all, our Breeding House's name is Gengar's Happy Paradise. What we create is not just Gengar's paradise, but a paradise for all Pokémon."

Lucas's words reminded the bespectacled man of the introduction he had seen outside the door. Looking at Lucas's convincing smile, he inexplicably felt a sense of relief.

"Thank you."

Lucas indicated it was no problem, as it was his duty. After seeing the bespectacled man out of the Breeding House, Lucas returned to the backyard.

At this moment, Torterra and the others were standing awkwardly, looking at Lucas a little nervously.

Lucas walked over, clapped his hands, and said with a smile, "It's alright, I'll take you to your resting place."

After Lucas finished speaking, he led the way towards the Lake.

Behind him, Torterra and the others exchanged glances, then followed.

Listening to the commotion behind him, Lucas couldn't help but look back. Torterra's massive body made his movements slow and quite noisy.

He gestured to Torterra that it was alright. Arriving by the Lake, Petilil was lazily resting with her eyes closed. Hearing the movement, she opened her eyes and saw a giant Pokémon following behind Lucas, looking a little scared.

"Petilil, this is a Pokémon our guest is boarding here, no need to worry."

Hearing Lucas's words, Petilil breathed a sigh of relief, then carefully observed Torterra.

"La ji."

She's so big.

Lucas squatted down and patted her small head, then stood up and turned to Torterra.

"Torterra, are you satisfied here? If not, we can find another place."

Torterra was observing the surrounding environment, with his main attention on Petilil. Hearing Lucas, he looked at Lucas, nodded, let out a deep sound, and then lay down.

He liked it here very much; the environment was excellent.

After settling Torterra's accommodation, Lucas then took Electivire and Ambipom to find places they were satisfied with, all within the forest.

Lucas reminded them that the forest also housed Vespiquen and her Combee, telling them not to be afraid and to try not to disturb them.

Over at Torterra's spot, Petilil looked at Torterra not far away. She thought for a while, then slowly took small steps to Torterra's side.

"La... La ji?"

Compared to when she first arrived here, Petilil's personality had become much more cheerful.

Torterra opened his eyes and looked at her. He was quite fond of the little one and gently greeted her to avoid scaring her.

Lucas returned to the Lake. Seeing Petilil and Torterra getting along well, he smiled, asked Petilil if she wanted to continue playing with Torterra there. After she agreed, he took Gengar back to the kitchen, asked Gengar to close the Breeding House's doors, and then began preparing dinner for the evening.
