Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: She’ll Never Reach My Heights

Three minutes later.

Zeig and Arlan walked out side by side, followed by a group of wide-eyed researchers.

These were all elite members of the Security Department who had handled countless battles, big and small.

But at this moment, the same question arose in all their hearts.

"Who is this big shot?"

Arlan walked beside Zeig, his gaze repeatedly drifting toward him, trying to spot any non-human features.

"…" Zeig looked puzzled.

"Is there something on my face?"

Clearly, Arlan's actions hadn't escaped Zeig's notice.

"Nothing." Arlan said quietly, then adjusted the bandages on his hands.

The researchers trailing behind didn't dare strike up a conversation with Zeig.

This guy was just too ruthless!

The moment he came in, he had strangled a Voidranger Trampler with his bare hands!

Voidranger Tramplers were among the most powerful individuals in the Antimatter Legion's Voidranger.

Just earlier, a researcher had been swinging a hammer at one, producing metallic clangs against its shell.

Strangling a Voidranger Trampler barehanded—that wasn't even the outrageous part.

Afterward, the remaining four Voidranger Tramplers charged at him.

The researchers had originally wanted to help.

But before those Voidranger Tramplers could even touch Zeig, they inexplicably fell apart, letting out pained roars before dying.

According to Zeig himself, this was called "overwhelming dominance."

If you're strong enough, you can kill invisibly with aura alone.

Though the Security Department members didn't understand it, they were utterly shocked.

What overwhelming dominance!

They had fought desperately for hours with all sorts of weapons, barely managing to kill a few Voidranger Tramplers.

But this guy? He went in and wiped out the remaining five in thirty seconds.

The other two minutes and thirty seconds were spent regretting that his moves weren't handsome enough and needing more practice.

"You're called Zeig, right?" Arlan asked.

"Yeah, you can also call me Captain, or Trailblazer." Zeig replied.

Arlan: "…"

The cabin section door slowly opened. The Security Department young man outside and Wen Shiling immediately lit up with joy.

Security Department young man: "Ah, it's Captain Arlan, and Mr. Zeig—you… you're already out?"

That was too fast.

Xiao Ling had only just arrived.

All told, Mr. Zeig had only been inside for three minutes.

Could it be that Captain Arlan and the others had nearly finished, and Mr. Zeig just went in to pick them up?

That didn't seem right.

The Security Department young man scratched his head. He had experienced the ferocity inside—he had only been pushed out because his injuries were too severe.

The situation inside hadn't been optimistic.

So there was only one possibility.

The young man stared blankly at Zeig, who also turned his gaze toward him.

"Hello there."

Then Zeig's eyes shifted downward: "How did you get in here too?"

He was clearly asking Wen Shiling.

Wen Shiling said with a look of disdain: "Why can't I come in? Also, Captain Arlan—Asta, the station master, has been trying to contact you with no response. She's worried sick."

Hearing Asta's name, Arlan's body jolted.

"What? Contact me?! The young lad—uh, the station master—what happened to her?!" Arlan asked anxiously. "My communicator was damaged, so I couldn't receive the messages in time. Sorry."

The little girl immediately cut him off:

"Enough, no need to apologize. You're out now—that's what matters. Hurry to the platform. A really terrifying Doomsday Beast showed up there."

"Doomsday Beast?!" Arlan's pupils contracted sharply.

The Doomsday Beast was an extremely terrifying existence in the Antimatter Legion.

Compared to it, Voidranger Tramplers were nothing.

"I understand—I'm heading there to support right now!"

Arlan was burning with anxiety. He abandoned the other Security Department members and rushed off alone.

The thought of Asta in danger made it impossible for him to stay calm.

Everyone watched Arlan dash away with a "whoosh—", all wearing bewildered expressions.

For Captain Arlan, nothing was more important than Station Master Asta's safety.

Zeig looked at Arlan's retreating back and couldn't help asking:

"He's covered in blood on half his body—shouldn't he apply some medicine first?"

"That's just how the captain is. Mr. Zeig, you'll understand once you've been around him longer." The Security Department young man explained.

Zeig had some knowledge of Arlan—Asta's most loyal subordinate.

He hadn't expected that upon hearing his young lady was fighting a Doomsday Beast, he'd panic like this.

"Let's head over to support as well." Zeig said.

The other Security Department members exchanged glances and nodded in unison.

If Captain Arlan was going, how could they shrink back?

"Good!" Wen Shiling took the lead, walking ahead of Zeig and the Security Department members to guide the way.

Zeig: "???"

"No, wait—a kid like you, what are you going there for? Hurry home and do your homework, prepare for the elementary-to-middle-school exam."

With so many Security Department members here, leading the way shouldn't fall to a little brat.

"Hah?"

Hearing Zeig's words, Wen Shiling turned her head in confusion.

"Elementary-to-middle-school exam? Are you talking to me?"

Zeig: "Who else?"

At that moment, the previously heavily bandaged Security Department young man quietly leaned in and whispered to Zeig:

"Xiao Ling is a proper researcher—a Level 2 in the Physics Department. You can't judge by appearances."

"What?" Zeig was dumbfounded.

A proper researcher, Physics Department, Level 2?

Good grief—this kid was actually a researcher.

Back when Zeig was her age, he was still playing in the mud.

Realizing his wording had been inappropriate, Zeig immediately corrected himself:

"Ahem, so what if no elementary-to-middle-school exam? Middle-to-high-school is important too…"

Cursing "idiot" under her breath, Wen Shiling didn't look back as she ran toward the platform.

The Security Department young man said awkwardly: "Mr. Zeig, Xiao Ling is already a proper researcher—she's long past compulsory education. Forget elementary-to-middle or middle-to-high; she's currently working on her own research projects. In short, she's no different from those seventy- or eighty-year-old researchers."

"Oh——!! So that's how it is."

Zeig suddenly understood.

Then he helplessly waved his hand: "Whatever. Anyway, she'll never reach my heights."

"What—Mr. Zeig, your academic level is high too?"

The Security Department members all leaned their ears in at once, showing curious expressions.

Not only incredibly strong, but with high academic achievements as well.

He was practically a modern role model!

Zeig: "No, I mean height."

Security Department members: "…"

Soon, urged by the other Security Department members, Zeig caught up.

Wen Shiling was just a kid—she couldn't run fast and was quickly overtaken.

But she still didn't give Zeig a pleasant look, arms crossed: "So slow. If Young Master Capote were here, he'd definitely call you out!"

Zeig couldn't remember how many times he'd heard the name "Young Master Bo."

Damn it.

Who the hell was this Capote!

Though they hadn't met, Zeig had already deeply memorized the name.

"Capote, huh? Where is he right now? I'd like to see if he's all that." Zeig asked.

Just as he asked the question.

"Boom——!!"

Suddenly, the entire space station shook violently.

Looking ahead.

A corner of a massive white body appeared outside the space window.

Even the battle-hardened Security Department members involuntarily swallowed.

"That's the Doomsday Beast?!"
