Cherreads

Chapter 28 - Chapter 28:When stealth dies

.....

Derrick let it go.

Above Yellowstone, ash still clawed at the sky, turning noon into a sick, rusted dusk. Emergency broadcasts screamed. Satellites reoriented. Every major power on Earth knew something had crossed a line.

Derrick hovered at the edge of the eruption cloud, eyes glowing red faintly.

Subtlety no longer increases survival probability.

He spread his hands planing on creating some temporary subordinates.

The Blacklight Virus answered.

Invisible at first then undeniable.

It rolled outward like a malignant gas carried on wind and heat. Spores rode thermals. Viral filaments sank into soil, water, lungs of the unknowing.

Hikers who had been running, screaming or praying

Stopped.

Their bodies convulsed, reshaped and changed.

Bones thickened. Muscles swelled. Eyes went glassy-black, then focused with new purpose. Not mindless anymore and not random instincts driving them to consume just pure Loyalty to one man, Derrick.

Creatures clawed their way out of the forest, some half demon looking , others fully evolved hulking beasts , blade-limbed, hammer fisted motherfuckers stitched together by Derrick's will.

Directive: Doom.

They moved as one super fast moving mass of screaming limbs straight to dooms location.

Minutes later

Doctor Doom stood amid collapsing pylons and flickering wards, already recalibrating, already compensating. His mind raced faster than most computers alive.

Biological constructs. Distributed command intelligence. Adaptive viral obedience.

"A crude escalation," Doom muttered then paused.

"No," he corrected. "An efficient one."

Hundreds of creatures slammed into Latverian Doombots, tearing metal apart with obscene strength.

Runes flared as Doom incinerated entire clusters with contemptuous waves of force but more came.

And then

The planet itself screamed.

Momentum

Derrick smiled darkly didn't attack.

He left.

WOOSH!!

In a single instant, he accelerated, breaking everything from sound, then heat, then atmospheric resistance entirely. Wind screamed behind him like a dying banshee , continents blurring beneath his vision.

He circled Earth.

Once.

Twice.

Ten times.

Faster than satellites could track. Faster than prediction models could update. Faster than most beings could conceive.

Each revolution added to the stack.

Momentum layered upon momentum.

The combination of Viltrumite physics. Blacklight elasticity were at work Asgardian density at work.

By the time he stopped, Derrick was carrying planetary inertia in his body.

He reappeared directly in front of Doom.

No warning.

Just impact.

BANG!!!

Derrick's fist connected.

The air... it vanished.

The force bypassed most of Doom's kinetic absorption simply because there was too much momentum arriving at once.

Shields overloaded. Dampeners failed to fully compensate.

Doom was launched, or to be more specific,Ejected.

WOOSH!!!!

As he tore through the sky, through the upper atmosphere, and into space, spinning end over end like a discarded god.

For the first time in a long time,

Doctor Doom did not control the battlefield.

Derrick teleported again.

Reappeared behind him.

As Both eyes ignited.

The beams that fired were not Scott Summers' power anymore not entirely.

They were compressed optic force, fused with demonic energy residue, warped by gravity focus and viral amplification. Derrick smirks menacingly as Red-white lances tore across space, bending light and reality as they struck Doom's armor.

Runes shattered. Plating cracked. Warnings screamed inside Doom's HUD.

Victor von Doom felt it.

Pain. Damage. Risk.

This is Unacceptable, his mind snapped.

He rerouted power, dumped mass, twisted trajectory letting himself fall.

He crashed back toward Earth like a green meteor, burning through the atmosphere, slamming into a mountain range miles away from Yellowstone in a detonation that registered as an earthquake.

Doom rose from the crater slowly.

Armor cracked. Cloak torn. Systems screaming.

But alive.

He looked to the sky where Derrick hovered, unhidden now, unapologetic.

"So," Doom said calmly, though his voice carried iron, "you choose annihilation over negotiation."

Derrick's voice answered from the air, cold and absolute.

"Nah."

A pause.

"I just chose myself ."

Derricks eyes began glowing again...

Doom activated emergency teleportation, vanishing in a storm of green light retreating not in defeat, but calculation.

Derrick watched him go.

Around Yellowstone, the infected horde continued to spread under Derrick's silent command collecting bio mass for now...

And for the first time since arriving in this universe,

Derrick was no longer reacting.

He was declaring war.
