Chapter 29 - Feiji Buk Laksei

Feiji showed up today with a shaved "executioner" haircut—

not the same look he had in the movie.

Looking a bit dumbfounded, he came alone.

A classic jianghu dreamer—

a delusional fanatic obsessed with becoming "the man."

Feiji couldn't accept that Lin Yao had advanced faster than him within Wo Shing.

Here he was, already in his thirties, still just another Red Pole who barely registered—

like air.

Wo Shing had dozens of Red Poles like him.

And Lin Yao?

Barely in his early twenties, already standing on his own.

What the hell had he done to deserve that?

Some nobody who'd clawed his way up—

And people outside were already calling him

the Fortress Emperor and the Tiger of Tsim East.

Those two nicknames didn't bother Feiji much.

What he couldn't stand was the last one:

Wo Shing's number-one fighter.

That alone was why he'd come kicking in the door today.

Feiji was simple—

simple to the point that even after being manipulated, used, and betrayed repeatedly in the movie,

he never once regretted it.

One line—"I'm doing this for the brotherhood"—

was enough to soothe himself.

As for all those flashy nicknames outside?

Lin Yao didn't care either.

If anything, he felt Se Yao sounded even more intimidating—

at least those titles carried some dramatic weight.

The nicknames on Hong Kong Island were always exaggerated:

emperor, crown prince, tiger, tiger among tigers—

One word for it:

Tacky as hell.

Lin Yao held his cigarette, lips curling slightly.

"Since you've come to kick in my door," he said calmly,

"you should at least make the stakes clear, right?"

Feiji clenched his fists, eyes blazing.

"Enough talk!"

"Se Yao—if I win, I take your seat as hall boss!

If I lose, do whatever you want with me!"

"Whatever I want?" Lin Yao chuckled softly, lifting his hand and pointing behind him.

"You don't need to fight me.

Beat my little brother A-Bu first."

Feiji's eyes bulged, as if he'd heard the biggest joke of his life.

"I came to challenge you!

What gives your underling the right to step in?!"

Lin Yao laughed.

"And who are you, exactly?

Who am I, right now?"

"There are Red Poles all over Wo Shing.

I'm a hall boss. I haven't fallen so low that I need to fight someone like you myself."

That sentence struck Feiji like a slap.

Already sensitive, he exploded.

His chest heaved violently, finger trembling as he pointed at Lin Yao.

"Fine! Fine!

I'll deal with your lackey first—then I'll deal with you!"

At that moment, footsteps echoed from the alley entrance.

A-Bu walked in slowly, dressed in a black T-shirt, hands in his pockets.

Lin Yao raised his chin slightly.

"He says if he beats you,

he wants my seat."

A-Bu looked Feiji up and down.

"Alright. Perfect timing—

I could use a stretch."

He'd heard Lin Yao mention this defiant Red Pole before.

He'd wanted to teach him a lesson for a long time.

Soon, the street in front of the hall was cleared.

Spectators backed away, afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.

Before the fight began, Lin Yao stepped up beside A-Bu and whispered:

"No killing blows.

Beat him until he submits."

A-Bu nodded, his eyes sharpening.

Lin Yao stepped aside, watching without the slightest worry.

He knew A-Bu's strength too well.

No matter how good Feiji was, he wasn't A-Bu's match.

But what happened next surprised him.

Feiji moved first.

He spread his legs shoulder-width apart, fists cracking as he clenched them—

Then suddenly charged.

One punch shot straight toward A-Bu's throat!

The other hand slashed toward his lower abdomen!

Every move lethal—

professional killer's technique, no wasted motion.

Fast.

Fierce.

Each strike aimed to trade injury for injury.

Feiji's punches were lightning-quick and deadly.

A-Bu, meanwhile, focused on defense and counters—

footwork nimble, always slipping away at the last moment.

The two traded blows back and forth—

An unexpected stalemate.

The onlookers on both sides of the street barely dared breathe.

Every one of Feiji's punches targeted the ribs, throat, vital points—

fast and dense, a pure suicidal fighting style.

A-Bu dodged left and right, barely evading each attack.

Occasionally, their arms collided—

producing a dull, heavy thud.

Feiji's tiger's mouth went numb.

He hadn't expected A-Bu's arm strength to be this terrifying.

Panic crept in.

He'd thought he could finish A-Bu in a few exchanges.

But after nearly half a minute,

he hadn't even brushed A-Bu's clothes.

Grinding his teeth, Feiji suddenly changed tactics.

His right knee shot up, driving straight toward A-Bu's abdomen.

If that landed, A-Bu would be out for at least half a month.

Instead of retreating, A-Bu advanced.

As he turned sideways, his hand clamped down on Feiji's knee.

A slight twist of the wrist—

"Ghk!"

Feiji sucked in a sharp breath as a piercing pain shot through his kneecap.

Still, he was tough.

Seizing the opening as A-Bu exerted force,

his other fist smashed into A-Bu's cheek.

Crack!

The punch landed solidly.

A-Bu staggered back two steps, skin splitting at the corner of his mouth.

He wiped the blood away and grinned.

"Not bad."

Lin Yao's expression didn't change,

but inwardly he acknowledged Feiji's skill.

Anyone who could push A-Bu this far deserved respect.

Still—

A-Bu hadn't gotten serious yet.

That punch flipped the switch.

Feiji's eyes lit up with joy.

Just as he tried to press the advantage—

A-Bu moved.

A punch slammed into Feiji's solar plexus.

The impact made his organs seize up,

nearly triggering shock-level pain.

Before he could react—

A knee smashed into the back of his thigh.

An arm locked around his neck.

A clean over-the-shoulder throw—

Boom!

Feiji hit the ground hard.

His back felt like it had shattered.

He lay there, unable to get up for a long time.

A-Bu crooked a finger.

"Still want to fight?"

Feiji gasped, struggling to rise—

Only for a wave of pain to darken his vision.

He looked at A-Bu.

Then at Lin Yao.

Like a defeated rooster.

"Feiji," Lin Yao said as he walked over, looking down at him.

"What do you say now?"

"I lost," Feiji said hoarsely.

"I admit it. Do whatever you want."

"Really? Anything?" Lin Yao said calmly.

"Come work under me.

Better treatment than Fish Head Mark—

and safer, too."

Fish Head Mark specialized in drug running.

Living on borrowed time was normal there.

Feiji swallowed hard and shook his head.

"Switch sides? Impossible."

"I'm Fish Head Mark's man.

I'll never betray him in this life."

"If you force me—

I'll die right here."

As he spoke, he tried to slam his head into the wall—

A-Bu moved instantly, pinning his shoulder down.

Lin Yao crouched, pointing at him with his cigarette, eyes serious now.

"Feiji. I won't force you to betray your boss."

"But since you kicked in my door today—

this doesn't just end like that."
