We are off to kill a god. Heh, no pressure, right? Lucas gave us a run down on the false god. They were born from Lucas himself. His desire to make Solaria a perfect nation. Lucas made a pact with a being beyond the skies and fed it his desires and it slowly began to take shape.
Lucas is also bound to the false god and he said that he might die with it when we kill Kinnarus. He said that it's a risk that he'll take.
"If I have to die with it, so be it." Lucas smiled brightly, "I guess it's my way of repenting for my sins."
Kinnarus usually stayed in the church, so their whereabouts might be hard to track down. Lucas said that once he crosses the border to Solaria, that he will be at the false god's disposal, and the only reason he wasn't in the past, was due to the original god's possession. Ry wasn't happy about hearing this and neither was Seth.
"About there!" Lucas called back.
We flew through the borders of Solaria and Lucas winced. His hand flew up to his face and Lucas shook his head. He blinked a few times before pointing left.
"This way." Lucas spoke and in a blink, he was falling from his pegasus. Alivia looked at their back and then glanced around for him, "AHH!" Lucas yelled. Alivia spotted him and dove, trying to catch up to him. A force ran into the poor pegasus and we stared in horror watching Lucas and his pegasus plummet.
Auri screamed and she pointed to the blurry figure that ran into Lucas and his pegasus. It was headed back toward us. An arrow whistled past my head and it trailed the entity. I looked back at Seth who had his bow out and notching another arrow. Seth lets it fly and it finds its target.
The blurred figure slowly materialized into a much much larger pegasus, but it also had a horn, like a unicorn. The pegasi we were on whined, but it sounded angry.
'You dare use my own family against me?!' it spoke.
"Uh… Seth?!" I called out to my guard.
"Working on it." Seth replied calmly. A jet of water flew past my head and the bigger pegasus dodged and dodged again as another one flew at it in rapid speed. Seth huffed, "Maybe not. I'm really not an aerial fighter." His pegasus snorted and then began flying at the enemy. Seth's eyes winded and he yelps.
"Good luck sweetie!" I called out.
"Kindly shut up, your Highness." Seth turned his bow into his sword and the two of them pursued the other pegasus. They flew like a dog fight in the air. Seth was missing a lot. It looked futile, but Ry looked invested and he was nodding. I looked back at them and frowned, the gap between them was closing in despite the pegasi being in different sizes.
Ahh.. Seth was pretty much funneling his enemy slowly by angling his shots. It was a small distance each time that it was almost unnoticeable. Seth's pegasi bucked and Seth flew at the other pegasus. He landed on its back and the pegasus tried throwing him off. Seth touched its neck, made a halter out of condensed water and he yanked back on it. The pegasus bucked and flew around wildly, that it reminded me of a fly trying to get out of a jar.
'Foolish humans!' It neighed.
Seth used his other hand and drove his sword into its neck. The pegasus whined and disappeared. Seth's pegasus snatched him out of the sky and they flew back at us.
"What was that?!' I yelled.
Auri was fuming, 'Kinnarus!' she growled, but it wasn't her voice, it was an older man's. 'The corrupted god of life.' She looked at me, 'Your guide still lives. He's in the forest below.'
We went after Lucas. How did he survive a fall that far? Did his pegasus catch him somehow? We landed and Auri got off and ran left. I followed her and so did the others. We soon found Lucas standing next to his pegasus which was down. He turned and his eyes were wet with tears. I instantly knew.
Lucas sighed, "If I possessed a fraction of my powers, I could have saved Alivia." He laid his hand onto his fallen pegasus.
The other pegasi walked over to Alivia and nudged her. They laid down next to their fallen friend and Lucas bit his lip. Auri walked over to the pegasus and touched her. Alivia's body glowed and it was as if she stood up, but she was transparent. It was her soul leaving her body.
The other pegasi looked at her and whined. Alivia whined back in return, they all touched muzzles with her and she turned to Auri and bowed her head. Alivia shatters into sparkles and they whisked around Auri and flew off into the air.
Auri watched Alivia's spirit ascend into the air, 'She'll come to understand her powers.' Khrysos said gently. 'In due time.' Auri's face lit up into a smile, "I already do." Auri's voice came back. She looked at us with determination, "I'm ready to help."
