Aika watched Alex's departing figure with frown. She couldn't help but feel that something a miss. But that is for later as her master needs to get inside.
It is as Alex had said, there were many protectors from the clan. And clan leader had specifically told her not to hesitate to call for help when she feels even the slightest hint of danger.
Aika looked at Saika, she was thinking hard. This was probably the longe-
"Arrgh- I give up! It's too much work! Aika-chan~~ let's go! We should sleep!"
'...'
Aika shook her head and followed Saika to their room. They entered the room beside Alex's.
Saika had been too excited to sleep. That's why Aika was practically dragged out of sleep in the middle of the night to find Alex.
Saika quickly got into the bed and closed her eyes. Aika got into bed and laid down beside Saika, feeling distressed.
'Wait! How did he know that Princess was the heiress of the Sakamo clan? There is now way that is a public information! The clan made sure of that!'
Aika's eyes widened in realisation. Then she frowned thinking hard as how he could he know of such information.
'Is he a spy? A member of some secret organisation? Was all that a lie?'
Aika was replaying the whole conversation and she noticed when she tried to asked the same thing, Alex had effortlessly steered the conversation to some else direction.
'But... it didn't seem like he made a blunder... he didn't show any reactions of panic or distresse...'
Aika was getting confused but still couldn't shake off the feeling of potential danger.
'But... am I over thinking? He sounded so casual. Was that maybe some kind of guess because I called Princess Princess? Or because he thought that Princess is heiress of some branch clan? But it still doesn't answer how and why he knew...?'
Aika was feeling agitated and couldn't sleep. After a long while of debating with herself, Aika decided to go out and talk to Alex. She couldn't risk it. If after this, she found that he was laying then she will call the protectors and kill him immediately.
Aika looked at Saika, who was already asleep. Murmuring something in he'd sleep. She then slowly got out of the bed and walked out of the room.
She knocked on Alex's door. And it opened few moments later.
"Oh? It's Aika. What do I owe you the pleasure, to have you at my doorsteps at the middle of the night?"
Alex said with a slightly teasing smile. Aika's expression didn't falter.
"Alex-kun. I can speak with you for a moment?"
Aika asked. Alex looked confused but nodded slowly.
"How did you know that my Master was the sole heiress of Sakamo when it was a classified information."
Ske asked flatly. Studying Alex's face intently.
'There!'
Aika noted. She noticed the small twitch on Alex's left eye lashes. It was small but clearly a sign of somethings not right.
"Like I have told you. I saw it on the Internet. Or maybe I was guessing. I didn't even know what I was saying in the first place."
Alex said with his usual calm tone but his eyes seemed tighter than before. Aika narrowed her eyes, looking straight into Alex's eyes. Her purple eyes blazing with determination.
"Alex-kun. That information isn't something you can get you hands on in the Internet. Nor can you are guesses without solid proof. Or... were you trying to make fun of us because our clans name was same as on the Ten Great Clans?"
"N-no. That's not-"
"The what is Alex-kun?"
"Well, you see-umm. The thing is-."
'Got him.'
Aika smiled internally. She looked at the distressed Alex. His calm facade fading.
"Let me help you on making your decisions faster... there's many protectors of S-Rank and even one Transcendent-Rank... does that help? Alex-kun?"
She saw Alex flinch slightly. Eyes wavering, clearly panicking. He them sighed and looked at Aika in a defeated manner.
"Sigh~~ fine. But please come inside because this a secret that my life depends on..."
Alex said as he opened the door wide for Aika to come inside. She nodded and went inside. Alex closed the door and sat down on the table in the balcony, inviting Aika to sit infront of him. She sat down infront of him.
He looked troubled. Probably organising what to say. Aika looked at the distance, the sun was slowly creeping in. Its morning light slowly illuminating the world.
"Aika. Please promise me that you will not tell anyone what I'm about to tell you. Ever. This is related to my future well being. I hope you can do the little favour."
Alex said after a while. Aika nodded slowly.
"Sigh~~ let me give you this straight. I can see the future. In broken fragments. That's how I know who you guys are. Because in the future, Saika is going to the academy."
What Alec said made Aika's eyes instantly go wide. She never considered such a thing! But she frowned again. Something doesn't add up!
"But what about the ridiculous power you show? And are you being a Lost One for 4 months is a lie? Because there is no away a 4 month old Lost One can be this power full."
"No, everything I said is the truth. I have no reason to lie. And that's why I said I don't know what my gift is!"
Listening to that. It does make sense. How are you going to explain prophetic ability and monstrous power at the same time? But it still wasn't enough to convince Aika.
So she pressed harder. And to insure that Alex really can see random future, he told her few things that will immensely benefit the clan... if they were true that is. After disputation lasted like an hour, Aika finally left.
Left alone in his room. Alex looked at the door. His earlier flustered expression gone. Replaced with his usual expression.
'Welp, that went better then expected... but I really should be careful. Just a slip up and I got into unnecessary trouble. And I turned the trouble into fortune.'
"Heh~."
Alex chuckled. He had given her some useful information. And once she confirms them, she will surely call again.
But Alex wants to earn a decent amount of money and call it a day. It is a win win situation. But he needs the only person to know about him to Aika. If one more person with Aika's intelligence got to know, his little game will be over before it even begun.
'Welp. Let's see what happens...'
With that. Alex's slouched backon the chair. Enjoying the morning sun.
