Kenneth's declaration thundered across the hall like lightning, freezing Richard and Genevieve where they stood, shock carved into their features.
The stone carving wasn't merely a piece of rock—it represented the Fairfax family's entire foundation and prosperity.
Years ago, Richard had exhausted every resource to obtain it, emptying his treasury, leveraging all connections, and pursuing it relentlessly.
And I had just destroyed it as if it meant nothing.
Richard's complexion shifted from deep red to ghostly pale, rage burning in his eyes.
I could practically read his thoughts: 'Destroying that stone was tantamount to attacking the Fairfax family's very core. There's no way I can let Bella escape punishment for this.'
Richard's roar filled the hall. "Bella!"
His face went ashen, veins protruding on his forehead as his shaking finger pointed at me.
