Amara's POV
I watched Dominic grind his molars, clearly at a loss for words.
For once, I felt chatty.
I spoke deliberately, "Actually, I've always believed that the only most important thing in this world is life.
"Everything else, even when lost, can always be found again.
But life, once it's gone, it's gone forever."
Dominic shot back, "There are many things in this world more important than life. With this condition you're setting, you might as well kill me."
I dropped my gaze slightly.
"Mr. Vancourts, goodbye. I won't see you out," I said.
"Wait a moment, can't we discuss it further?" Dominic pressed.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"But the thing is, I don't need anything else," I replied.
Dominic drew a deep breath. "Fine!"
I'd been expecting him to give in, and the amusement in my eyes grew stronger.
"I can find a way to get you into Dark Abyss Penitentiary to get Pip out. I just hope you take my request seriously," I told him.
I wasn't in any rush.
