Chapter 3 - Facing Three SunFiends!

"Radiants are dangerous. They can be both in human form and in beastly form. Luckily, ones you awaken 100 percent of your cells, you will instinctively be able to sense Radiants."

"This concludes your final orientation session before the test," Teacher Rain announced an continued.

"Now, I want everyone to stand and move in an orderly manner toward the Crescent Stadium where you will participate in your practical exercise with live Radiants. Remember to stay calm, no matter what you see."

Hearing her last words, everyone took a glance at Vogue whose face was quite pale at this moment.

The students stood up from their seat and in an orderly fashion and in a single file, walked out of the class room and headed towards the Crescent Stadium.

Aries Star School wasn't considered the largest academy in the entire Terragrave Megacity.

However, it was one of the largest secondary school in the entire Third Ring and of course it's a government owned public school.

The entire academy was the size of a small city with lots and lots of students within the academy.

Today was the day Senior Class 3 will slaughter Radiant beasts to prepare themselves mentally.

It had only been an hour since Teacher Rain first announced this practical exercise to the class, yet somehow word had already spread like wildfire through the entire school.

Thousands of students from junior year one all the way up through senior year two had come pouring out from their own classrooms with the official permission of their teachers just to watch as the Year Three Seniors would kill Radiants.

Most importantly, to see what a Radiant looks like!

Vogue walked in a single file with the rest of the students. His face pale about facing three radiants but his eyes concealing a secret.

Suddenly, he whispered.

"Status!"

His crimson eyes suddenly constricted as motes of blue light could be seen within its depth.

At that moment, a blood red panel appeared before him.

It has been a week he arrived in this world along with the strange system Infinite Regeneration System.

Vogue couldn't think about any other broken ability than Infinite Regeneration. Of course he had tested it through out the week and had even severed his own fingers. Only to watch it regrow in the next second.

But what was strange was that the severed finger would immediately turn to ash.

He also figured out that he could control the regeneration by turning it on or off, this gave Vogue a sense of control. He didn't want an out of control ability.

What if there were other people there? Then once the ability was revealed to the outside world, he would definitely be taken by the government as someone who hasn't gone through the Osympic Test possessing an ability was an anomaly and he would definitely be experiment on.

As for why his PP was so small, it was because despite the beating of Gerald and his Lackey, the amount of pain points they produced was so little. For every hit, he was only rewarded a single PP!

If Gerald had persevered and continued, then maybe he might have generated about 100 points then use it to upgrade the system. Who knows what system ability he would unlock next!

In a few minutes, they all arrived in a massive stadium looking very much like a modern coliseum.

The stadium was incredibly massive, roughly the same size of a football field back on Earth.

At this moment, thousands of students were already seated in the spectator sections that rose around the central arena floor. The teachers had been given special reserved seating at a raised high table that overlooked the entire stadium from the best vantage point.

The Principal of Aries Star School stood at the center of the high table, staring down at the Senior Year Three students who were arranging themselves in neat rows on the stadium field far below his elevated position.

He was an old man with pure white hair and a long white beard. He wore a flowing silver cloak that caught the fading sunlight beautifully, and there was a crescent moon tattooed on his forehead. Also, he was holding a walking stick on one of his hand.

"Tap! Tap!"

The Principal's cane tapped gently on the ground and the entire student body murmuring and seated in the spectator seat immediately went quiet.

"As you all know, from the announcements that were made earlier today, the government has graciously granted our academy exactly 400 Level 1 Savage Radiants from their captured stockpiles. These creatures have been provided specifically for our future Silver Knights to get properly used to seeing them and to practice decapitating them without hesitation or fear clouding their judgment."

He paused deliberately, his ancient eyes sweeping across the assembled students with a gaze that seemed to see directly into each person's soul and

"Most of you have lived a sheltered life and have never seen a Radiant before. Tonight, you shall see on that they are not so scary. Humanity prevailed underneath their surprise attack, we will prevail again and dominate this world, cleansing every last fiber of this world from their filth."

"Glory to the moon! Ahhhh——Hoo!"

The entire students stomped their foot twice and roared the mantra!

The Principal gazed at the students below. "You've been trained for this, and also give orientation about how to kill radiants. Today, you shall slaughter these creatures with your own hands, and you will use their blood to paint this battlefield red as a promise to yourselves and to all of humanity that you will not fail when your time comes to take the Osympic Test."

Senior Year 3 students immediately stomped their foot twice once more!

"BAM!" "BAM!"

The principal nodded his head. "You may begin."

Instantly, the rest of the Senior Year Three students began jogging in an orderly fashion toward the special section of the spectator seats that had been reserved specifically for them.

All of them moved toward the stands except for Vogue, that is. He remained standing alone in the center of the massive arena floor. He was going to be first so might as well remain within the field while they called him.

"Pick a weapon of your choice." One of the teachers spoke to him.

Vogue didn't hesitate and walked directly to the weapons rack that had been set up along one side of the arena and immediately grabbed two double-edged axes from among the various options available.

The double edge axe weigh 5 kilograms each but to Vogue, they didn't weigh quite as much. Probably due to the fact that he had activated 12 percent of his cells.

Vogue twirled the Double-edged Axe swallowed hard as he stood at the center of the stadium.

"Release the beast!"

Teacher Raine's voice echoed throughout the battle field and then—

"CLANG!"

The massive gates built into the walls underneath the stadium seating suddenly began opening with grinding mechanical sounds.

But not just one gates, three!

"ROOOOOAR!" "Hissssssss!" "Croak! Croak!"

Three different sounds echoed from the abyss of the gates and the entire students body of thousands of teenagers, inhaled simultaneously and held their breathe as they watched the Radiants come out from the gates.

The first beast to come out was a two meters tall monstrosity.

It dragged itself out from the gate and into the glow of the sun that was fading into obscurity. Even though the sun was setting, there was still enough solar radiation present for the creature to begin absorbing energy and starting their regeneration processes.

The sunfiend possess eight limbs that had been severed, leaving only stumps that it used to drag its body across the ground. It's body was jetblack with charcoal like fur.

If someone were forced to relate this creature to an animal from the old world before the Radiants appeared, they might say this Sunfiend was vaguely similar to a dog but with eight legs. However, this dog looked incredibly horrifying.

There were two pair of eyes arranged randomly on its head, one pair in its four head and one ornate both sides of its chin.

Two massive shape rows of teeth in its neck and below its nose.

Not to mention, there were hundreds of dog ears in its body like a tumor, including its legs! Each ear twitched and rotated independently, tracking sounds from all directions simultaneously.

This particular species was called the Goldblood Thousand-Ear Hound in the official classification system.

"Roooooar!"

Unlike the woof of a dog, this sunfiend roar was even louder than that of a lion!

Vogue felt every single hair on his body stand completely on end as he stared at the horrifying creature limping and crawling across the ground toward him with its severed legs, leaving trails of disgustingly liquid behind it.

As though that wasn't scary enough, a second creature crawled out of the second gate. It was even more disgusting.

It was a serpent, or it looked like one.

It slithered slowly through the floor. Right now, its scales had been peeled, revealing mucus and tissue, making the pain even more as it dragged itself across the bladed grass.

The beast didn't have just a one mouth. Instead, dozens of mouth lined up along its entire body. Tongue tasting the air in hunger as it sighted the thousands of food staring at it.

Even still were the tails behind it.

It had six tails poisonous scorpion tail that struck randomly at the air. But the had been severed by the government, making them crippled.

It was a Six-Tailed Purple Serpent!

The creature lifted its head.

All the mouths spoke at once.

"HISSSSSSS—"

Seeing another creature come out, the spectators, both student and teacher had various changes of expressions.

Even though crippled, it would be difficult for an ordinary student to face one Radiant, not to mention two radiants.

The teachers watched the development with interest. They had thought this exercise would be boring, given the fact that the Radiants are almost completely crippled. But the prospect of watching a single student face two Radiants at once had changed their minds and made things more entertaining.

The students began discussing amongst each other.

"Did this guy offend someone he shouldn't that makes them want to kill him this bad?"

"Maybe all the Year 3 would also face two Radiants, who knows?"

As they were discussing among each other, there was a third 'Clang' sound. Instantly, the jaws of absolutely everyone in the entire stadium dropped open in shock and disbelief as a third Sunfiend walked out.

A Centi-eyed Halo Frog.

The frog was the size of a carriage, its bloated body was slimy as it rolled over and stopped.

Instantly, thousands of eyes, large, small, human and cat like blinked out of sync as they rolled around and locked in on the thousands of spectating students nearby.

The students who licked eyes with the beast felt a chill run down their spine as their face turned pale. They immediately shrank their neck and looked else where without hesitation.

Without warning, one of its eyes buldged and then exploded.

"Squelch!"

A jet of green liquid sprayed outward, sizzling as it hit the barrier walls, releasing a choking, acidic stench through the surroundings!

This sunfiend was even more disgusting to say the least!
