To gauge the differences between them and the powerful Lu House, one needs only look at the power of their leaders.
While Mu Tao Lei and his father, Mu Tao Tian, are positioned in the Third Cultivation Realm, the Root Master Realm, which is enough to reign supreme in Woodshade City, the leader of the Lu House, Count Lu's father, is in the Fifth Realm; he is a full-fledged Lord.
The difference between the two houses is too great. And even though Count Lu himself is not that powerful, he is still in the Fourth Realm and is an Intermediate Stage Specialized Master, who will surely reach the Fifth Realm in the future.
All these differences mean that every leader of one of the Woodshade houses has to come out to greet this man with such respect. Now, if we were to count their status as well... there would be no room for comparison.
"Mr. Mu, it's been a long time since I've seen you. Visiting the houses these days, I see that you are doing really well. I came by to congratulate you." Count Lu smiled professionally and showered them with flattering words.
Mu Tao Lei laughed. "Thank you for your kind compliments, Count Lu. It is an honor for us to welcome you here with your men."
"Please come in, Count. I have prepared some delicious snacks for you." Mu Tao Lei stepped aside to let him enter.
Count Lu thanked him politely and strutted into the room.
Along the way, a young man wearing a mask, standing among the guards, was watching him.
When they crossed the doorway, Xiaotian exchanged glances with the man walking behind Count Lu.
'This man...' Xiaotian frowned. Suddenly, his eyes flashed, and a powerful, imperceptible aura emanated from them to follow Count Lu and the man.
This aura quickly studied the bodies of Count Lu and the man before retreating undetected.
His frown deepened under the mask when he realized that the aura of that man dressed as a butler was too strange.
'Not even the Swordsman's Sense, which was able to uncover secrets from the Drunken Elder yesterday, could penetrate that aura.' He thought, but he couldn't continue snooping around.
He didn't have enough mastery of this new ability he discovered yesterday after poking around, so he had to stay out of reach of these powerful people.
Realizing that the guards were beginning to take their positions, he slipped between them and left the mansion.

When he arrived at the Drunken Elder's office, he was not there yet, so he had some free time before he had to train.
He sat in the training room, looking thoughtful. What should he do?
There were things he still needed to do, such as increasing his cultivation, which was indispensable.
But even though he had things he needed to do, he also had things he needed to check.
He took a gray ball out of his inventory and stared at it for several seconds. It wasn't the legendary item, but the ball connected to the Stormy Call Legacy Technique that had been granted to him.
Then he took out and looked at the three items he had obtained from that ruin.
The Crystallized Echo materialized before his eyes with a loud echo: "Damned Spiders, one day I will have my revenge!"
