Enzo's jaw tightened, his eyes darkening. He couldn't remember the last time someone disrespected him. However, he lifted one hand slowly, silently telling his men who were coming down the stairs to stay back.
Ugo groaned on the floor, clutching his mouth as blood smeared across his lips. His eyes were wide, not only from pain, but from disbelief. He had never been hit that fast in his life. His ego was bruised, especially as it was a pampered rich lady.
Enzo took one calm step forward. "You're bold."
Ling Xuan didn't even blink. "So?"
The air seemed to turn colder. Even the dusty basement suddenly felt like a battlefield. The shelves of guns and bullets no longer looked like goods meant for sale, but trophies waiting for the strongest person to claim them.
