Chapter 54 - CHAPTER 54

Apprenticeship with Yi Lao, Soul Seed

"Don't be too happy yet."

Electrolux stopped Yuhao before he could become overly excited and said in a calm, ancient voice:

"The method I mentioned only allows these two dragon souls to bear your mark. If you want to truly control them and make them fight for you at will, you are still very far from that level."

At this point, Electrolux paused slightly, and his tone became more solemn as he continued:

"After all, although the essence of your spiritual power has undergone sublimation and has already touched the boundary between the tangible and the intangible, the total quantity of your spiritual power is still far too small."

Hearing this, Yuhao frowned slightly and asked again:

"Then how much mental power do I need in order to completely control these two dragon souls?"

Electrolux glanced sideways at the still somewhat muddle-headed Tianmeng Ice Silkworm and said indifferently:

"If you can completely absorb all the origin spiritual power sealed within this big insect, that should barely be enough."

"Uh… well…"

Yuhao felt a little embarrassed.

Although he had encountered countless fortuitous encounters recently, and his strength had undergone earth-shaking changes compared to half a year ago, the reality was that he could still only absorb the original spiritual power contained within the first two seals of Tianmeng Ice Silkworm.

If he wanted to absorb the origin spiritual power sealed within the remaining eight layers, then his spiritual sea and mental strength would have to undergo another qualitative transformation.

And this kind of qualitative transformation required not only time, but also an opportunity that could not be forced.

"All right, stop thinking about it."

Electrolux interrupted Yuhao's wandering thoughts.

"Being able to leave a mark on these two dragon souls today is already your greatest harvest."

Yuhao was never someone obsessed with quick success. After hearing this, he quickly adjusted his mindset and respectfully asked:

"Yi Lao, what should I do next?"

"In fact, you should have already discovered something."

Electrolux said calmly.

"In your current state, I am essentially equivalent to your fourth martial soul. However, due to special reasons, you are unable to attach a soul ring to me."

As Electrolux spoke, Yuhao nodded slightly. His gaze sharpened, and the golden vertical pupils that belonged to the Golden Dragon King gradually faded away, transforming into a pair of gray pupils that were dark, cold, and devoid of emotion.

At the same time, a gray soul ring quietly manifested in front of Yuhao.

This was the fourth martial soul that Yuhao had almost never actively used.

"Although you cannot attach a soul ring to me," Electrolux continued, "I can teach you undead magic."

Upon hearing these words, Yuhao's heart leaped with joy, and he hurriedly asked:

"Yi Lao, have you recovered your memories?"

Electrolux possessed countless undead magic techniques, each one containing terrifying power. If his memories were restored, then the value of his guidance would far exceed that of any ordinary soul ring.

"Thanks to your spiritual sea," Electrolux said with a soft chuckle, "I have been able to nurture this wisp of consciousness. Although I have not fully recovered, I can still recall the majority of my memories."

He paused for a moment before continuing:

"I will teach you a secret soul technique later, known as the 'Soul Seed.' Using it, you can imprint yourself upon these two dragon souls. When you grow strong enough in the future, these two dragon souls will not only fight for you, but may even become your external incarnations."

"Hiss—external incarnation!"

Yuhao could not help but suck in a cold breath. He realized once again that he had underestimated Yi Lao's terrifying methods.

He immediately leaned forward respectfully and said:

"Yi Lao, please teach me."

"Hahaha."

Electrolux laughed heartily.

"I should have long since vanished from this world. Yet because of you, I was able to preserve a trace of spiritual consciousness. Naturally, I will spare no effort in teaching you."

Then his tone became deeper and more sincere:

"Moreover, you are a rare genius. If I can pass on everything I learned throughout my life to you, then my existence will not have been in vain."

Upon hearing these words, Yuhao finally understood the deeper meaning behind them. Without hesitation, he knelt down solemnly and said with utmost sincerity:

"I ask Yi Lao to accept me as your disciple."

"Hahaha! Xiao Yuhao, you truly are clever."

Electrolux laughed again.

"Very well. From today onward, I accept you as my disciple."

"Thank you, Yi Lao—no, Teacher."

Yuhao's face was filled with joy as he immediately performed a respectful disciple's salute toward Electrolux.

In truth, from the moment Electrolux decided to teach Yuhao everything he knew, the master-disciple relationship already existed. The formal apprenticeship was merely a matter of name.

However, someone was clearly dissatisfied.

That person was Tianmeng Ice Silkworm.

"Damn it!"

Tianmeng snorted angrily.

"It was obviously your brother who discovered Xiao Yuhao first. How did this old fellow manage to cut in and steal him?"

Hearing this, the Ice Empress could not help but laugh softly and said:

"All right, all right. You should understand that Yuhao apprenticing under Yi Lao is the best choice for everyone involved."

Tianmeng Ice Silkworm naturally understood this logic. Even though he was always unconvinced when facing Electrolux, he was well aware of just how terrifying the latter's level of consciousness was.

Still, being cut off halfway left him somewhat unhappy, so he could only mutter a few complaints under his breath.

At this moment, Electrolux had already begun teaching Huo Yuhao the technique of the Soul Seed.

Electrolux himself was Yuhao's martial soul. As such, Yuhao learning his magic was as effortless as breathing.

"Yuhao," Electrolux reminded him seriously, "you must understand that when you use the Soul Seed, you will experience the pain of your soul being split—twice. You must endure it."

The Soul Seed involved separating a portion of one's origin spiritual power along with a strand of consciousness. It was no different from forcibly cutting away a piece of one's own flesh. How could it not be painful?

However, Yuhao remained calm. He smiled faintly and replied:

"Yi Lao, don't worry. I can endure it."

Even after formally becoming a disciple, Yuhao still felt more accustomed to addressing him as Yi Lao, and Electrolux did not mind in the slightest.

Soon after, Yuhao's gray soul ring lit up.

Two streams of dark, cold gray energy surged into his spiritual sea and began to devour the origin of his spiritual power.

The intense pain caused Yuhao to frown deeply. He had not expected the agony of casting the Soul Seed to be so severe.

Fortunately, the pain did not last long.

Before long, the two streams of gray energy withdrew from Yuhao's spiritual sea and condensed into two gray particles that floated quietly in the air, resembling fruit pits.

These were the Soul Seeds.

Yuhao observed them carefully and could clearly sense an intimate connection, as though he were gazing at two other versions of himself.

"So this is soul magic… truly profound."

Yuhao sighed in admiration and immediately sent the two Soul Seeds into the heads of the two dragon souls.

The moment the Soul Seeds made contact with the dragon souls, they fused seamlessly, like droplets of water returning to the sea.

Yuhao's connection with the Soul Seeds instantly transformed into a direct connection with the two dragon souls.

At the same time, Yuhao discovered that he had gained certain incredible abilities.

For instance, with a single thought, two additional perspectives appeared within his mind.

In both perspectives, there stood a young man at the center.

That young man was none other than Yuhao himself.

These perspectives belonged to the two dragon souls.

In addition to shared vision, Yuhao could even switch his consciousness, temporarily transferring it into either of the dragon souls. The sensation was extremely mysterious and profound.

However, even if Yuhao's consciousness descended, he still could not mobilize the power of the two dragon souls.

This was because his soul and mental power were still far too weak.

It was like a young child holding a divine weapon weighing tens of thousands of kilograms. Even if that weapon possessed the power to shatter heaven and earth, the child's arms were simply too fragile to wield it.

Even so, Yuhao showed no sign of disappointment.

If he could not do it now, that did not mean he would never be able to.

And Yuhao firmly believed that the day he could truly command those two dragon souls would not be too far away.
