???'s POV
Night fell on the land of Bénesse. The mansion has been very quiet for some time. Nothing but moonlight glows in its dark interior. Suddenly, the door slammed open.
"We found her, my lady." the knight yelled at the hallway.
A woman, dressed in midnight blue gown that matches the night of a New Moon walked out from the darkness with a stern look on her face.
"This can't be happening often, my dear. Maybe some discipline would do you good."
...
Wait.
"Should we send her back into the dungoens?"
"Hold on."
The woman reached out her pale hand and pulled the sack from the girl's head.
"Open your eyes."
The girl didn't move. Not even a blink.
"You're a Puppet, aren't you?"
The girl shakes her head.
Interesting. The woman grabs a vial of glowing hair from her pocket.
"I command you to open your eyes."
The girl opened it against her will, showing her glowing yellow eyes. Her pupils looked like an upside-down triangle that extends until the top corner of her iris, indicating that she is a Puppet. [Puppets are beings created solely for obeying their creators/masters. One must be able to have enough mana to give life to a Puppet. The stronger the material she was made of (aside from the creator's mana), the stronger the Puppet is. The more organic the material, the Puppet becomes more organic (which includes being human; it depends on the creator's desire) and etc. There are a few ways in order for a Puppet to obey you: be their creator or get something that belongs to the creator that stores a part of their mana (Fun Fact: Puppets are unable to change their pupils.)]
"I knew it. She created you as her copy, correct?"
The girl nods.
"Tell me where she went."
"To a place you'll never find." her voice shivers in fear.
"Answer me!"
"I DON'T KNOW." she yelled.
...
Ah... she's useless then.
"Tell me, what is your name? Surely, she gave you a name, no?"
"Iris."
"Beautiful name I must say. I'm impressed that you managed to imitate your creator. Too bad your eyes had failed you."
The girl let out a nervous sigh.
"Well then, Iris. Here's my last order for you..."
Slowly, the woman approached the girl with a menacing smile. She kneeled down to her level.
"I command you to..."
Iris' face went blank. After a moment of pause she charged on one of the guards, stole a sword and-- *swish*
At Sera's Cabin...
The girl jolted awake.
What was that... who's Iris? That's odd...
She smacked herself in the cheek and got out of bed. *rip* Oh no... I grew up. She looked at her arms and legs both hanging at the corners of her bed. I may have grown out the clothes they gave me. And grown out it was. Her old clothes were completely ripped off. I need to get me some new ones.
She got outside her bedroom and saw that she's in a new place. Fortunately, no one was home.
Hold on, who am I? And where am I exactly?
She looked around the house. The kitchen table was a mess. The homeowners must've left on a rush. Looking outside it seems like a peaceful neighborhood (she was amazed on how wide the land they own). Upstairs she found 2 more beds aside from where she woke up from. She grabbed a few ragged clothing from the basket in between the beds and made makeshift clothes for herself.
There's a couple living in here, huh? They're probably still not married given that their beds areseparate.
She combed her hair with the hairbrush she found at the bed's side table and went back down to eat breakfast. Before that, she tried cleaning the table.
"Emunda--AHH GAH" her violent mana shoots all over the place, blowing up the whole kitchen and hurting her as well.
"We're back..."
Oh boy...
"What was that explos-- OH MY-- LEIRON"
"What?"
"Did you forgot to close the stove before we left?"
"Uhh... maybe?"
"For Venus' sake-- woah who are you?"
They're probably going to kill me, "Uhh--"
"You're a mess, dear. I'll get you something to eat." Sera patted her shoulder and looked back into the wrecked kitchen.
"Uhh Sera?"
"Yeah?"
"The kid here... she's gone."
"WHAT?" she rushed thru the bedroom. Seeing nothing else but cutouts of old clothes on the bed and floor.
I wonder if they'll believe me if I said I was the child.
"Hey, you"
"Uhm excuse me--"
"DID YOU TAKE HER?" Leiron yelled, shaking her back and forth.
"No! Why would I--"
"Leiron, I think that's her." Sera raised the badly trimmed cloth she picked from the floor.
"Well, if this is her--hold on there is NO way someone can grow that fast."
"Well--yeah... she has some explaining to do."
...
"So... Who are you?"
"Don't know"
"Age?"
"Don't know"
"Where do you live?"
"Don't know"
"Why were you in the middle of the road in the late at night?"
"Don't know"
"YOUR ANSWERS ARE THE SAME EVERYTIME, what even is the point of interrogating her."
"Calm down, Lei. You're scaring her. Maybe she doesn't remember." You ask too many questions too y'know.
"That girl is a shapeshifter. I don't trust her one bit."
"Look, no matter what you ask me, I won't be able to answer it. I don't even know who I am, let alone why I was there."
"Okay, so last question. This does not need for you to go to memory lane that far so... What happened to our kitchen?"
"Well, what happened was..."
...
"IT WAS YOU???" Leiron exclaimed. "You have NO idea how much scolding I got from her in a span of 30 seconds."
"Yeah... sorry for causing a couple argument from you guys."
"Excuse me, couple?" Sera looked at her with disgust and disbelief. "WITH THIS... CREATURE?"
"Hey!"
"Oh, was it a misunderstanding? Sorry I--"
"EUGH! That's the most DISGUSTING sentence I have ever heard all day..."
"I'M SORRY I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HATE HIM THAT MUCH"
"You know, a simple 'we're just friends' could've been a simple answer. You know what, scratch that. Why don't we just... give YOU a name."
"Wait, what? Why?"
"Well, since you don't know your original name, maybe we can give you a new one until you remember. It's kind of weird to just call you 'you' " Sera replied, finally back into her senses.
"Well, what do you have in mind?" the girl asked eagerly. Resting her head at her left arm, facing the two.
"Well, I do have a name that may suit you for a moment..." She glanced into the window. Looking at a familiar flower peeking outside. "Ione."
"Ione...?"
"Yeah... like those flowers in my garden. Your eyes remind me of them. At the dark they're as dark as plum, same as your hair. In light, however they look as gradient as a flower's petal."
"That's quite poetic, in my opinion...." the girl looks down. She wore a shy smile, quite bashful about the name given to her. Ione, how pretty.
"I'll accept it."
"It's settled now. Welcome to our home, Ione."
They held a small feast, just for the three of them. Welcoming Ione to their little family.
