At the stroke of midnight, two carts stopped in the middle of a road with a wall of trees on both sides. The guards accompanying the carts stopped as well like they were planning to rest for the night.
Two guys stepped out to ease themselves while the others off-loaded boxes from the carts and headed for the forest as the guards closely accompanied them. From the looks of it, what ever was inside the those boxes had to be valuable goods which wasn't meant to be seen by people. While everyone else was busy a man snuck back into one of the carts and came outside with a similar dressing as the rest of the workers and begun helping them complete their work.
As if not to cause a scene,a guard walked up to him and called him to one side while leading him on. Seeing this, the man took one last glance at the workers before complying with the guards request.
As they rounded up the work,a Young girl strolled in catching their attention which distracted them. Within a split second, the girl who had initially seemed innocent was holding the head of a guard while impaling the body on a tree. That moment of panic was all she needed. Before they could control the situation,a group of people dressed in black rushed in, killing every person in the area; workers and guards alike.
After the killing spree,they settled down before opening the boxes to retrieve what ever they had come for. Despite the scene that was just caused, they were simply here to reclaim a phoenix crown that was stolen from them. A member of their gang walked out of the forest carrying the man that was taken by the guard who seems to be a member but from the looks of things,he was definitely not welcome.
"Hey... You guys left him behind..."
The first person to react was the little girl who initiated the attack. Without saying a word, she glanced over to his side and scoffed before resuming her work.
"Without him... things would have been faster..."
"Huh..."
The only person that seemed to be in support of him was the person carrying him. And from the way he acted, it was proof that he was definitely the leader if not the strongest. After going through all the things,they boarded a cart and left, leaving the stolen goods behind for a lucky person to find and claim it.
While the man was still unconscious, the person that helped him from the forest glanced at his squad mask tattooed to his neck. The picture showed a fox biting it's tail.
The sign belonged to the strongest mafia in the east, the Firefox group who are neither good nor bad, just doing what ever they liked. Rumors even claimed that they were one of the strongest in the world. To them,such honor was being ruined by genki, the man who had barely contributed anything since joining despite being older than all of them. The only reason he was still with them was because of the fact that he possessed a broken ability to see the future which has been helpful in many ways. Despite that,he was still treated like garage nonetheless.
By the time they got to their base,genki had already woken up but maybe it was because of the leader being there, but they didn't bother bad mouthing him. Genki came down and immediately rushed to the training ground while the rest proceeded to thier various rooms.
"Look at him go... If only it brought results"
"Let him be...at least he doesn't take up space"
Two hours into training and their leader walked in to the ground holding his katana. He glanced at other members of his gang before heading to where genki was practicing his swings.
"Yo...genki"
Genki turned to his side and waved before resuming his training. The leader walked to his side and sits, resting his back against a pillar facing genki and watched as he trained relentlessly for hours. By the time it was late, the others greet genki and their leader before heading out. By the time he determined that everyone had exited the building,he turned to genki who had already exhausted himself and threw him a blade signalling a duel.
"Huh...calm down will you,I just—"
"Let me make one thing clear... you're an extra...and how you fight is going to determine your future"
Genki was baffled by his words but he wasn't given any time to react as he immediately attacked which genki barely parried. From the way the attacks connected,it was clear that this was a fight to kill but genki who is already outclassed in swordplay or hand to hand combat was now on the receiving end of attacks that carried killing intent
The leader made a feint to the left which genki couldn't predict and followed with a straight jab pummeling him through his gut. With his fate sealed genki refrained from further attacks as they would be considered futile.
"Master genki... I can grant you a way to survive... that is if you want to survive"
"You have been looked down on a lot in this world so I will send you to a world where you're needed,a world where the hero betrayed his kind and destroyed the world.you will go and redeem yourself by saving the world.
"Why would you give me something as grand as saving the world..."
"Because you can do it... probably"
Genki smiled as he noticed members of his team entered the training ground and witnessing what had happened there

"... Nico... Nico...NICO!!!..."
By the time he was awake,he was lying on a bed with and advanced background and scenery. He turned to the window and observed the buildings he saw. By the time he realized,a girl was standing beside his bed, with a grumpy look on her face
Who is she...
"Finally Nico... we're gonna be late for class"
"Huh..."
