Chapter 25 - Reincarnated

"Then you're not from Korea?"

Kang Sora seems somewhat disappointed upon hearing we're not from the same country, but she quickly consoles herself.

"It's fine. What's important is that we're from the same world."

Seeing Kang Sora's level of happiness, I can't help but remember the terrifying monster that killed me in the third cycle, and I feel a complex emotion in my heart.

'Originally, I hadn't planned to get close to her, but to avoid her until the mysterious young man appears and kills her.'

And yet, remembering the young man's words about losing control and the feeling of loneliness...

Especially that strange dream I had at the end of the third cycle, I decided to change my strategy.

"What are you thinking about?"

I feel Kang Sora tapping my shoulder with her fingers.

"Nothing. I just feel a bit strange seeing another transmigrator."

"Me too, I feel strange. But isn't this better than the idea of being transmigrated to a strange and unfamiliar world alone?"

We were sitting in the empty shared sleeping quarters, speaking English, as Kang Sora had started speaking it instead of the Immortality Language.

Even though neither of us is very good at English, I'm sure if someone fluent in English heard us, they'd have a heart attack.

"Yes, but this means we're probably not the only ones in this world. There are likely several other transmigrators wandering this world."

"Indeed, we should look for them and gather to figure out why we were brought here."

For some reason, each of us had a very different opinion about the existence of more transmigrators.

For me, I felt disgusted by the idea because it meant I wasn't as uniquely special as I imagined.

'Wait, no. I possess the ability to turn back time. What if there are other transmigrators? I'm sure they don't have anything compared to my ability.'

Thinking about this, I managed to regain some of my good mood, though I overlooked the fact that the other transmigrators must also have something special about them.

"Anyway, you said you reincarnated? That means you didn't transmigrate in your own body?"

In the end, there was a difference between reincarnation and transmigration.

Kang Sora looks at me strangely.

"Why? Didn't the same thing happen to you?"

"No. I suddenly found myself transmigrated to this world in my own body. But I was taught the Immortality Language, and everyone in the village I was in seemed to know me."

"Strange."

Seeing Kang Sora's puzzled expression, I feel a bit of happiness in my heart.

'So, I'm still the most unique.'

"What about each of us says how we found ourselves in this world, and we see what the common points are? Perhaps we can deduce some information about our situation."

"Alright, let me start."

Kang Sora nods her head enthusiastically. It seems she is more excited than I am to share her experience.

"Originally, I was busy playing some games in my room, then suddenly I found myself in this world without any warning."

"I woke up inside a dilapidated Buddhist temple in this strange body. The temple was empty, with nothing in it."

"Do you know who that temple belonged to?"

"No, unfortunately, I didn't find any information about what kind of entity the temple was built for. The only thing present was a ruined statue depicting a strange creature."

"Can you describe its shape to me?"

"Certainly."

Kang Sora nods while seeming to struggle to remember the statue's shape.

"It resembled a Christian cross on Earth."

Upon hearing the word 'cross,' a shiver runs down my spine.

"But it was different too. The crucified creature's features were unclear, and the lower part of its body was severed, leaving only the upper part with dangling entrails."

"Honestly, I don't know who would make a statue of such an ugly creature."

"Hey, what's with your face?"

I don't answer Kang Sora because at this moment, only one thing occupies my mind.

The end of the first and second cycles.

Li Chen and Yi Guang, who were brutally crucified by Song Jin.

And the creature crucified in the twilight light.
