It didn't take long for Kain to find the cave, it was huge but now the new predicament stood before him.
According to the information, the cave was actually quite confusing and finding the dungeon gate would take some time.
But if the information's guild was true, and this Dungeon had already broken once then I guess wherever there are the dungeon natives, the portal would be nearby.
Kain smiled as he entered the dungeon, glad that the silver he spent wasn't completely useless from his last visit.
Kain walked for a few minutes, exploring various paths and caves within the caves.
There were no monsters inside the cave, there would have been if the dungeon hadn't broken once, saving him the time of dealing with them.
After walking for quite some time, something surprising happened.
*Swishhh…*
Some unknown object came flying towards Kain, forcing him to dodge which he succeeded though barely as a small graze appeared on his cheeks.
Kain ignored the blood dripping from his cheeks, as his focus went towards the reason why the wound had appeared.
It was a dagger, rusty and slightly old but still lethal, stuck to the wall of the cave.
Usually, the one who is attacked might look for the attacker who has thrown the dagger, but Kain knew better as he recognised it, the dagger itself as a dungeon monster.
[Forgotten Weapon: Dagger]
The [Forgotten Weapons] are weapons whose owners have been predicted to have died or the weapon itself destroyed in the past.
Though, these weapons have been respawned into the dungeon, gaining a will of their own from the memories of the past owner's usage of the said weapon, becoming a dungeon monster.
The dagger was removed from the wall, by some invisible force as it started floating, its tip pointing towards Kain.
Kain already had his hand on his blade, about to unsheath it but he was slow, too slow, as the dagger came flying towards him again.
It seems it was previously used as a throwing dagger by some assassin class who focused on speed the most.
Kain thought so in the split second, he ducked down dodging the dagger successfully this time, while also unsheathing his sword.
The dagger came at Kain once again but instead of defending against it or using his sword, Kain did something unexpected.
[Conqueror's Suppression]
The skill this time was targeted towards the dagger, who instantly fell down mid-air, not moving an inch.
Kain still had his sword ready to face off if the dagger started flying again but no movement was there for a few tens of seconds.
Only then did Kain move closer to it, touching the dagger with his sword but still no movement, causing him to pick up the rusty dagger.
…Their is still a faint residue of its will but it is nearly on its last breath.
Kain grinned, staring at the dagger as his predictions for choosing this dungeon was on-point.
The [Forgotten Weapons] carry the will and fragmented memories of their past owners, not their soul, not their intelligence, just will.
And [Authority] is in a way a greater form of Will, more powerful and potent making Kain, the possessor of it, the natural enemy for these weapons running on will.
It was the reason why Kain had travelled for the past 5 days into this mountain, because he had a natural advantage over the dungeon monsters here, and didn't just enter [Hollow Puppets Dungeon].
It was also the reason why Kain had spent such a high amount of money in the Information's Guild to gain and control the information of this guild.
Though it was one of the many reasons for choosing this dungeon, the second important reason would be necessary after conquering the dungeon.
Wait a moment, even with Authority, I was prepared to use the skill twice or thrice but only once was enough to kill the dagger?
Even if he has a natural advantage, dungeon monsters, especially those who have broken during the dungeon break should have been slightly more powerful and difficult to deal with.
Maybe…
A surprising thought crossed Kain's mind, but after a moment he pushed it at the back of his mind, not believing it at least until he had more data to work with.
More data meaning, after he has slayed more [Forgotten Weapons].
Kain picked up the dagger and stored it into his pouch, moving forward inside the cave as the presence of the dagger 90% confirmed that the dungeon is here.
Soon, Kain encountered three more floating weapons, this time a sword, a shield and a spear.
Kain activated [Conqueror's Dungeon] once again and this targeted the Spear, which dropped dead on the ground again.
While the other two weapons speed slowed down and they floated more 'stumblingly', as if just being near the Spear they had also entered the effective range of the skill.
Kain grinned, as he activated the skill for the second time, this time targeting both the weapons.
Even though the effect was divided, hence weak, the skill instantly slayed the two weapons causing them to fall as well.
Yup, this confirms it, my skill has enhanced effects on dungeon monsters.
In none of the books or the knowledge he had gained regarding the Conqueror Class sub-category, he has heard about enhanced effects of skill on narrow groups of targets.
Mainly, because the Conqueror sub-category, even among the Lord category classes, was rare and those which have been noted were those which involve humans, or humanoid races.
Well, I guess it shouldn't be surprising, I am a [Dungeon Conqueror]. Dungeon comes before Conqueror.
Though regardless, it just means he can conquer this dungeon quickly, and also those whom he will encounter in the future.
Kain continued walking and the deeper he went the more groups of [Forgotten Weapons] he encountered but he took care of them quite easily.
In fact, he was slaying them so easily, that he questioned himself on why he learned to coat his sword with the skill but he was going to do it one way or the other.
A skill is the obedient servant to the desires of its user and is useless regardless of how powerful it is if the user can't keep it under control.
Finally, after dealing with a few more groups of [Forgotten Weapons] he encountered the dungeon.
[Graveyard of Forgotten Weapons]
This was Kain's first time seeing a dungeon crack as Amber City did not have any, unlike most of the cities who keep them if they appear for the economical value they provide.
It was not a portal, instead it was a crack on the wall, which was not exactly glowing, but releasing a darker cloudy grey colour, pulsing in rhythm like a heart.
The crack was actually quite small, with just a single head size fractured at the center from which various small, thread-like cracks spread across the wall of varying size and length.
Kain did not spend too much time studying the dungeon entrance, instead after checking if any [Forgotten Weapons] remained, he took out some beef jerky and dry bread from the pouch and started munching on it.
He needs to be at his best when facing the dungeon, even if he feels confident in order to beat the dungeon, he knew conquering would be much harder.
After he was done with his human needs, he slowly touched the crack and was instantly swallowed up by the dungeon, vanishing from the cave.
Kain appeared out of thin air and he did not even have to look at the interface which appeared in front or his skills flaring up, because he was in the center of what seemed like a battlefield.
There were thousands if not tens of thousands of weapons, mostly sharp, stabbed inside the ground for as far as eyes can see, creating an eerie yet chivalric beautiful scene.
There were no forests, mountains or a normal environment, just a plain stretching to the horizon with weapons stabbed into the ground.
*Gulp!*
Kain took a big gulp, but resolution and cautiousness still flared in his defiant gaze.
I guess, this was the biggest reason why those adventurers gave up on clearing this dungeon.
The adventurers who discovered this dungeon did not clear it, in fact they used an escape stone to exit the dungeon within the first 30 minutes.
They classified this dungeon as a high-risk and low-reward dungeon, mainly because the drop and loot of this dungeon were these weapons itself.
And they were unable to fight them without harming them resulting in harming the loot i.e. broken, useless weapons who are worth only in steel scraps.
Instead they decided to sell the information about this dungeon to the information guild and walked out with more money then they would have made even if they would run this dungeon hundreds of times.
Stupid people.
Will-imbued objects or sources are quite rare, and if they would have sold the weapons, even if broken, a master alchemist or gatherer would have imbued the will with water or mist to create potions and such.
It seems the information guild knew about this, yet they did not keep it confidential because for a giant like them it is meaningless, in fact selling such information is more beneficial for them.
Kain's attention then went towards the interface which showcased a quest.
