Damien's grip on her hips was like iron, his fingers digging into her soft flesh as he forced her to look at him. The alcohol on his breath was sharp, mixed with the primal, territorial scent of his wolf.
"Will you tell me now?" he growled, his voice a dark vibration against her chest. "What did he say to you in that room?"
Sofia felt a spark of defiance flare up through her fear. She was tired of being the victim, tired of his accusations. She decided to twist the knife, wanting him to feel even a fraction of the insecurity he put her through.
"He told me I'm beautiful," she whispered, her sea-blue eyes defiant. "He said I'm sexy. He told me that every Alpha at that summit was watching me, wanting me. He said you don't deserve me… and that soon, he's going to take me away from you for good."
Damien's face contorted, his brow furrowing into a mask of pure, lethal jealousy. "And do you want that?" he hissed, his voice cracking. "Do you want him to take you?"
