Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 : Snow Emperor When will you test me?

The logic of the Snow Empress was actually very simple. Since her spirit power felt so harmonious with the young man, she believed he might be a Spirit Beast born from heaven and earth, just like herself or the Ice Empress.

In her mind, the reason he looked like a human was likely because he was a powerful Spirit Beast who had chosen to transform into human form. When Kong Mingan heard this strange idea from the Snow Empress, he found himself completely at a loss for words.

He could only guess that the unique nature of his own Spirit was causing this misunderstanding. After a long period of persuasion, Kong Mingan finally managed to explain clearly that he was indeed a 100% natural human being who just happened to possess a very special Spirit.

The Snow Empress did not say anything in response to his explanation. Her icy blue eyes still held a clear look of skepticism as she watched him. It was obvious that she did not fully believe what he was saying, but she eventually gave a slow nod.

She decided to temporarily accept his statement for now. With that small conversation over, a contract appeared in the air. This contract had been provided by Electrolux and was personally written by Kong Mingan. It floated gently before the Snow Empress. She blinked her eyes and focused her gaze on the document.

The terms written in the contract were very easy to understand. It was divided into two main parts. The first and most important part was a promise from Kong Mingan. He promised to provide protection for the Extreme North Land in the future. In exchange for this, she would need to serve as his personal bodyguard. Her job would be to eliminate any and all threats to his life. At the same time, she would also serve as a subject for his observations and research.

The contract mentioned she would act as a sample for his work. She did not quite understand what that meant, but Kong Mingan explained it to her simply. He told her she only needed to sit quietly while he sat beside her to study her energy. To her, that sounded like a very easy task to perform.

Even though the main part of the contract seemed fine, the Snow Empress did not relax just yet. She continued to read the supplementary clauses, which were also very important. This section was a bit more complicated than the first part.

To put it simply, she had to share all the information she had about her Soul Skill Modules. She also had to regularly provide samples of her spirit power, her blood, and other bodily tissues. She would also need to help Kong Mingan whenever he asked for her assistance.

The contract stated that all of these actions were entirely voluntary. She had the right to say no at any time. However, as long as she did these things, her help would be recorded. Her contributions would be turned into specific value points. Once these points reached a certain amount, Kong Mingan would fulfill her biggest request.

He would help the Ice Empress overcome her next Heavenly Tribulation. Kong Mingan explained it in a way she could understand by saying she was now his employee. These value points were like a salary she earned for doing her job.

When she did some quick math, she realized the deal was very fair. Even if she only earned the lowest possible salary without any extra bonuses, she would only need to work for about ten years.

After ten years of work, she would have enough points for Kong Mingan to save the Ice Empress. For a powerful being like her, ten years was like the blink of an eye. It was a very short amount of time and completely acceptable to her.

She carefully read the words of the contract again. Since it was made of mental force, the words were clear in her mind. She went over the details several times. A look of complexity crossed her beautiful face.

These terms were much kinder than she had expected. She knew the other party could have made a much harsher deal. He could have even hidden traps or tricks in the writing to fool her. But as she looked closer, it seemed there were no tricks at all.

She looked up at Kong Mingan. Her voice sounded a little confused as she asked if he was truly not a Spirit Beast. Kong Mingan sighed, his voice sounding a bit helpless as he told her once again that he was definitely not.

The Snow Empress watched him silently for a long moment. There was a flicker of emotion in her icy blue eyes. She looked at the contract and then back at his face. With a look of suspicion, she asked him in a low voice if he was really telling the truth. Kong Mingan became very serious this time as he told her that he was.

The Snow Empress stayed quiet, but her heart was still full of doubt. According to her way of thinking, if he was not a Spirit Beast, why would he be so fair to her? She believed that if he were a normal human, he should have tried to kill her to take her spirit ring and her Spirit Bone.

Even if he didn't want to kill her, the normal human thing to do would be to find a way to make her a slave. Why would a human offer such a fair contract? The bad image she had of humans made her stay on guard, but as she looked at him, she had a new thought. She started to think that maybe he was just different from all the other humans she had met before.

She pressed her lips together, feeling a bit of a struggle inside her mind. She suddenly found herself missing the Ice Empress very much. If the Ice Empress were there with her, they could talk about this together.

She wouldn't have to make these big decisions all by herself. She shook her head and decided to stop worrying about it for now. Since she would be staying by his side from now on, she would have plenty of time to figure out the truth. Eventually, she would see who he really was.

She reached out her hand. A small amount of ice and snow spirit power appeared at her fingertip. This power contained a piece of her Soul aura. She used her finger to write her name on the floating contract. As soon as she finished, the contract began to glow with a bright golden light.

The light split into two parts and flew into the bodies of Kong Mingan and the Snow Empress. She felt a connection form between her and the young man. She could also feel the rules of the contract very clearly in her mind. She let out a small sigh of relief. One of her biggest goals was now moving forward, and the other just required her to work hard.

Kong Mingan nodded his head with a look of quiet satisfaction. He saw the Snow Empress looking full of energy and ready to work. He knew that to make someone work hard, you have to give them a good reason. Giving her a clear path to save her friend was the best motivation possible.

A short time later, Kong Deming and Electrolux saw that everything was settled. They both left the room, leaving the laboratory to Kong Mingan and the Snow Empress. With her by his side, Kong Mingan felt very safe. She was as strong as a Limit Douluo, so almost no one could hurt him now. They could finally start their quiet training.

The Snow Empress was also starting to feel her strength coming back. She had been trapped inside the God Sealing Platform, which had made her weak. In another version of history, she would have been trapped there for a very long time until a boy named Huo Yuhao broke the seal by force. In that story, she would have been so weak that she couldn't even fight a level 98 Super Douluo, leading her to blow herself up. But this time was different.

She hadn't been trapped for long, and Kong Mingan had let her out safely from the outside. Her strength was mostly fine, and she just needed a little time to reach her full power again. She took a deep breath and stood up. She looked at Kong Mingan with a look of focus and asked him when they would start the testing.
