Chapter 40 - Chapter 40 : So Beautiful That It Makes You Want to Dissect It

Inside the highest level isolation laboratory within the Undead Demiplane, three figures stood in silence. They were all looking at a rhomboid crystal placed on the central platform. Inside the crystal, a faint stream of Qi was sealed. It was an incredibly pure white color.

The Qi moved left and right inside the crystal as if it were trying to break free. If one felt closely, they could sense a huge amount of vitality and extreme coldness coming from the Qi as it hit the walls of its prison. This was the Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast Embryo. More specifically, it was the Snow Empress Embryo.

Two very old figures stood behind Kong Mingan. Kong Mingan was standing just outside the protective shield. He looked at the Snow Empress Embryo calmly, but he felt a little strange inside.

In the original story, this embryo was supposed to be bought by Xiao Hongchen at an auction in Star Luo City five years from now. During that time, the Body Sect was supposed to attack Mingde Hall. The Snow Empress would then self-destruct, leaving a small part of her Origin to live in the mental force sea of Huo Yuhao.

Kong Mingan knew he needed the Snow Empress Embryo for his research and materials, so he had put it on his list of things to get. However, he expected to find it several years later. He wondered how he had gotten it so early.

He thought to himself that it might be the butterfly effect or perhaps something planned by the Plane Will. Even though he was a bit confused, he looked at the embryo and reached out his hand. He used his mental force to destroy several important parts of the God Sealing Platform.

Suddenly, the white light inside the crystal began to shake violently. A terrifying aura of extreme ice exploded out and broke all the seals of the God Sealing Platform. A bright, ice-blue light filled the entire laboratory. When the light faded, the embryo was gone.

In its place was a young girl wearing a long, ice-blue dress. She was floating in the air. She was tall and very pretty. The lines of her dress showed off her graceful shape.

Her hair was white like snow and reached down to her waist. Her hair moved even though there was no wind. Her face looked cold and very calm. She was the head of the Three Kings of the Extreme North Land, the Ice Sky Snow Maiden, also known as the Snow Empress.

Kong Mingan stared at her. A faint blue light moved in his eyes. He whispered to himself that she was beautiful. He did not mean this in a romantic way. He was looking at her from his special energy perspective.

To him, the Snow Empress was a perfect structure of energy. She was born from the purest ice elements in the center of the Extreme North Land. She was a being made entirely by nature. Every part of her energy followed the laws of the world.

She was a perfect creation. This kind of beauty was something that went beyond how people normally see things.

Kong Mingan felt very excited by what he saw. For the first time, he actually wanted to take apart a living person to see how she worked. He quickly realized he was losing control of his thoughts and wondered why he was acting this way.

The Snow Empress slowly woke up. Her ice-blue eyes looked confused for a second, but then she felt the humans nearby. Her confusion turned into anger and caution. She naturally began to move her spirit power. She wanted to freeze and destroy everything around her.

However, before her ice power could explode, two very strong auras locked onto her. One aura felt like death and holiness combined. The other aura felt like a hot fire coming from a powerful bloodline. Even if the Snow Empress was at her full strength, she would have to be very careful with these two.

Since she was currently weak, she felt a real threat to her life. She stopped her attack and looked around. Her eyes finally landed on Kong Mingan. He looked like the weakest person there, but he was standing in the middle. She could tell that the two powerful people behind him were there to protect him.

She spoke with a voice that sounded like ice breaking. It was very clear and sounded like a queen speaking. She asked where she was and who they were. Kong Mingan stopped looking at her energy and became calm again. He told her that she was in his laboratory. He introduced himself as Kong Mingan. He welcomed her and said he was being sincere, even if the situation seemed bad.

The Snow Empress looked at the two old men behind him and then back at him. Her eyes were cold. She asked him if his idea of being sincere was keeping her a prisoner. Kong Mingan told her that he was not keeping her prisoner.

He said he was actually saving her. The Snow Empress did not believe him. She had been sealed by humans while she was trying to change her form. She had been stuck in the dark for a long time. She did not trust humans at all. She only stayed still because the two powerhouses were watching her.

Kong Mingan kept a calm tone and smiled. He told her that he knew what she had been through. He understood that she did not trust humans yet. He suggested that they make a deal.

The Snow Empress frowned and said that all humans were bad. Kong Mingan expected her to say that, but he still felt a bit annoyed. He was a person who could be very petty, and he decided he would pay her back for that comment later.

He slowly spoke to her again. He told her that he had a way to help her survive her next seven-hundred-thousand-year Heavenly Tribulation. He also mentioned he could help the Ice Empress with her three-hundred-ninety-thousand-year Heavenly Tribulation.

The Snow Empress showed some emotion on her face when she heard this. Her cold eyes changed a little bit. She asked him if he really knew what he was saying.

Kong Mingan smiled because he knew she was interested now. He looked into her blue eyes and told her that he could give her even more than she could imagine. He promised not only to help with the Heavenly Tribulations but also to protect the entire Extreme North Land. He said he would stop humans from coming into her home and ruining it. He pointed out that even if she survived her own tribulation, she might not be able to protect her home by herself.

The Snow Empress thought about this. If this young man had two very strong protectors, maybe he really did have a way to help with the tribulations. However, she was still confused about how he could protect the whole Extreme North Land. She wanted to ask him what gave him that kind of power.

Before she could speak, Kong Mingan raised his hand. He showed her a dark purple mark on his palm that looked like a triangle. A small amount of divine force that felt like destruction flashed from the mark. The Snow Empress was shocked. She realized that this was the mark of a Divine Test.

She knew that anyone with a Divine Test was someone who could become a God. If he became a God, he would definitely have the power to protect her land and help her survive. The room became very quiet as she stared at the mark. The two elders behind Kong Mingan did not move.

They just kept their pressure on the area to make sure nothing went wrong. Kong Mingan waited for her to process what he had shown her. He knew that in the world of Spirit Masters, power and potential were the only things that mattered in a deal.

The Snow Empress looked at Kong Mingan differently now. He was no longer just a weak human. He was a person who held the future of her kind in his hands. The ice in the room did not feel as sharp as before. The tension was still there, but the chance for a deal was now very real. Kong Mingan knew he had won her attention.

He didn't need to say more for now. He just watched her, waiting for the queen of the north to make her choice. This was the start of something much bigger than just a simple experiment in a lab.
