Yangbans are a race originating from the Hwan Kingdom on the East Continent. They are a subspecies of Half-Gods, created by Hanul, the ruler of the Hwan Kingdom, to oppose and fight against the Archangels.
Each Yangban possesses immense innate power and effectively eternal life while remaining within the Hwan Kingdom. However, their immortality is not absolute—if they stay outside the Hwan Kingdom for too long, their divine status weakens, and they can lose their immortality. Despite this limitation, they are still far superior to most beings due to their divine nature.
Yangbans are born with high talent, and many of them have the potential to grow to the level of Archangels. Their strength is not fixed; it can be developed through intense training and, more importantly, by accumulating Deity (divinity). The more Deity they gather, the closer they move toward true godhood.
Within their race, Yangbans follow a strict hierarchy. At the top are the Seven Yangbans, who are publicly recognized as the strongest among them. These individuals are granted the privilege to freely accumulate divinity and grow without restriction. Below them are numerous other Yangbans who serve under the authority of the Five Seniors.
The Five Seniors act as overseers and commanders, controlling the lower-ranked Yangbans. These lower Yangbans are often treated as expendable forces—tools to be used in battle or sacrificed if necessary. This system creates a rigid and often cruel structure, where only a select few are allowed to rise, while the majority exist to serve the ambitions of those above them.
Overall, Yangbans are powerful divine beings shaped by a system that values strength and hierarchy, with their ultimate goal being to grow closer to true godhood.
This was what Alan remembered about the Yangbans from the book.
"You lowly being, how dare you hit me!?" Yeum shouted at Alan. He took out his swift sword and rushed at him.
Alan intercepted the attack and began to fight back, while the other Yangbans watched with amusement.
"This human is skilled, but in the end, he only caught Yeum by surprise. He is nothing more than another mortal being," the other Yangbans said openly as they mocked Alan.
Alan heard everything clearly. He remembered that they were all narcissistic bastards who could do nothing except talk.
Alan didn't reply to their words. He focused only on the fight.
Yeum attacked again, his sword moving fast and sharp. But Alan stepped aside and blocked every strike with ease. Not a single hit landed on him.
Alan moved forward and struck back. His attacks were simple but precise. Each hit landed on Yeum's body, forcing him to step back again and again.
Yeum's expression changed. His anger turned into frustration.
"How…?" Yeum muttered as he tried to keep up.
Alan didn't answer. He continued attacking, not giving Yeum any time to recover.
Another strike landed.
Then another.
Yeum tried to counter, but his sword couldn't even touch Alan. Every time he attacked, Alan either dodged or blocked it calmly.
The other Yangbans stopped talking for a moment.
"This… is strange," one of them said.
Yeum was clearly being pushed back.
Alan stepped in again and struck Yeum's shoulder, forcing him to lose balance.
Yeum staggered and barely managed to stay on his feet.
Alan stopped for a second and looked at him.
"You talk too much," he said calmly.
Then he moved again, continuing the fight without giving Yeum a chance to breathe.
Alan stepped forward again and attacked.
Yeum tried to block, but his movements were slower now. His breathing became heavier, and his grip on the sword was not as steady as before.
Alan struck his side and pushed him back.
Yeum slid a few steps and forced himself to stand straight. His eyes were filled with anger, but there was also a hint of doubt now.
"You… you are just a human," Yeum said.
Alan didn't respond.
He moved again.
This time, his speed increased slightly. Yeum raised his sword to defend, but the impact forced his arm down.
Another hit landed on his chest.
Yeum coughed and stepped back again.
The other Yangbans watched in silence now.
"He's losing," one of them said quietly.
Yeum heard it, and his expression twisted.
He tried to attack again, putting more force into his swing, but Alan simply moved to the side and avoided it.
Then Alan struck again.
A clean hit.
Yeum lost his balance and fell to one knee.
He tried to stand up, but Alan was already in front of him.
Alan pointed his sword at Yeum's neck.
The area became quiet.
Yeum froze in place.
For a moment, no one moved.
The other Yangbans looked at the scene without speaking.
Alan lowered his sword slightly but didn't step back.
"Is that all?" he asked calmly.
Yeum didn't answer.
He just looked at Alan, his pride clearly shaken.
The other Yangbans frowned.
One of them stepped forward and sighed. "It seems we have to step in. Kill all these mortals," he said, looking at the citizens of Pangea.
The people who were kneeling began to tremble. Fear spread across their faces as they started begging for mercy.
Alan looked at them and then laughed lightly.
"As expected of you false, pathetic gods," he said. "Just to cover the shame of one of you being defeated by a human, you want to kill them all?"
Before anyone could respond, his sword flashed.
Yeum's head fell to the ground.
His body collapsed a second later.
Several notifications appeared before Alan's eyes, but he ignored them completely.
The atmosphere changed instantly.
The other Yangbans' expressions darkened.
One of them stepped forward, releasing clear killing intent.
"You dare…" he said.
Without waiting any longer, he rushed at Alan.
Alan didn't move back.
He simply raised his sword and prepared to meet the attack.
The Yangban rushed forward with speed.
His sword came down with strong force, aiming to cut Alan in one strike.
Alan raised his sword and blocked it.
A sharp sound echoed as the two blades clashed.
The ground beneath them cracked slightly from the impact.
The Yangban pushed harder, trying to overpower him, but Alan didn't move back.
He held his ground and then shifted his stance.
With a quick movement, he pushed the sword away and stepped to the side.
