That evening, Bruce screamed and brushed away everything on the table.
"So you're telling me Scarlett was the last person my father saw?" Bruce furiously glared at Mr. Cole.
"Yes, Bruce, but it might not be Scarlett who killed him because she is too weak compared to Sheldon," Mr. Cole said and sat down on the couch with his right hand underneath his chin. Bruce calmed down.
"But according to what you said earlier, my father had two different kinds of wounds in which he bled out, and it seemed like two people stabbed him. One cut which was in the neck wasn't deep — it wouldn't have killed him even if the ambulance came thirty minutes later after his neck was slit. But the other cuts seemed to be done by another person. The cuts were deep and it was all over his body," Bruce analyzed.
"So what you're saying is…" Mr. Cole said and looked at Bruce with a smirk on his face.
"The slight cut was the first cut made on him which weakened him, making him a prey to the second person," Bruce finalized his words.
"You think we don't know that?" Mr. Cole broke Bruce's ego of finding it out, and Bruce stared at him in a stupid way.
"Well then… who is the person?" Bruce sat down and faced Mr. Cole.
"We haven't figured it out yet because the camera didn't catch the person and none of us saw her. But from what we know, it is definitely someone who has a deep grudge against Mr. Sheldon," Mr. Cole stood up and turned to leave.
"Is it her?" Bruce spoke up, and Mr. Cole turned back.
"Who?" Mr. Cole questioned.
"Never mind. I felt like it could be Quinn, but there's no way she would have come back from where Father sold her off to," Bruce shrugged the feeling off.
"Who is Quinn?" Mr. Cole looked confused.
"You know… Quinn, the girl that calls herself the future Mafia Queen," Bruce informed, and Mr. Cole gave an evil smile.
Mr. Cole brought out his phone and dialed a number.
"Confirm if Quinn is back in Las Vegas, and I need the results within twenty-four hours." Mr. Cole hung up and left immediately.
"Has she returned?" Bruce stood up and walked to his room. "Scarlett, don't let me catch you," Bruce said to himself as he climbed the stairs.
Leo sat alone in the living room with sleeping Scarlett. Suddenly, Scarlett twitched and jolted awake with a loud scream.
Leo rushed towards her with concern all over his face. Leo held her shoulder.
"Scarlett, are you okay?" Leo asked, but Scarlett shoved Leo's hand away and ran towards the door, forgetting her school bag. She opened the door and went outside.
Leo ran after her while Appleford, who heard the scream, just stood stunned by whatever he saw going on between Scarlett and Leo.
Scarlett kept on running with a little speed, but Leo met up with her and held her hand.
"You didn't kill him," Leo shouted.
"Leo, you don't know what you're talking about. I slit his throat and…" Scarlett trembled as she spoke.
"Even if you did that, what did you do wrong?!" Leo said in a loud voice, then he exhaled. "You only tried to defend yourself after he tried to assault you, so why should you regret that you did what you should have done?" Leo asked her in a low tone.
Scarlett calmed down again and turned towards the direction of the mansion's door. She looked up at Leo and smiled, then her smile faded immediately.
"If I didn't kill him, who did?" Scarlett walked towards the mansion's door.
"Huh?" Leo watched Scarlett walk away confidently like she had always walked before the incident happened.
"Didn't you say I didn't kill him just now?" Scarlett kept on walking.
"I don't know who killed him," Leo caught up with Scarlett. "Why did you suddenly change from… you know…?"
"Isn't that what you want?" Scarlett asked as she opened the door. "As you said those words, I remembered what I suffered to survive. I am not going to let Sheldon torture me even after his death." Scarlett walked up to the couch she was sitting in earlier and sat down.
"That's good," Leo replied with a sigh and sank into the couch.
When Appleford saw that they had settled down, he left.
"You seem to know some things about Sheldon. Can you tell me?" Scarlett sat upright on the couch.
"I can't. You will regret hearing it from me, and besides, it's a secret. I'm afraid people will hear it from you."
"Come on, I am very good at keeping secrets," Scarlett gave a friendly smile.
"Forget about it. Do you wanna check out those games?" Leo ignored Scarlett's curiosity and stood up.
Scarlett stared at Leo for some seconds, then stood up.
"Okay, come and show me the games you got." Scarlett also stood up, and her phone rang. Scarlett quickly took her bag and brought out her phone. She checked the screen, and it was Ivy.
"Oh. Hi, Ivy," Scarlett greeted. "I didn't mean to run out of the…"
"Come quickly, Scarlett," Ivy said in a distressed tone.
"What happened?" Scarlett's face crumpled.
"I can't tell you on the phone, but it is urgent," Ivy replied.
"Okay, I'll be there soon." Scarlett hung up.
"What is it?" Leo asked in concern.
"I don't know," Scarlett answered. "Can you take me home on your bike?"
"Yeah, let's go." Leo took his keys and rushed outside with Scarlett behind him. When they got to where the bike was, they both got on the bike, and Leo set out on the road.
At the Joseph's mansion, Leo and Scarlett arrived to see two police cars in front of the mansion, and Scarlett's parents were outside attending to the policemen.
Scarlett got off the bike, followed by Leo. Scarlett stared in fear while Leo held her hand to calm her down.
