During closing hours, students were already leaving the school when Bruce's driver came. His driver opened the door of the backseat for him and he entered. There he saw his Dad's personal assistant seated in the front passenger seat.
''Bruce, your father wants to see you at the organization so you won't be going home now''. Mr Cole said and signalled to the driver to start driving.
''Why does he want to see me?'', Bruce asked.
''That, I don't know, you will see for yourself when you get there'', Mr Cole said without looking back.
In front of the school gate, Scarlett came out with all of her friends. ''Bye, Ted'', she waved him goodbye since he just came out the school gate and Ted waved back.
Scarlett spotted Ivy and ran towards her. She linked arms with Ivy and she waited alongside her sister for their driver. "Why isn't he here yet?", she said with a squeezed face when a wild black motorcycle sped off with a loud noise. The people close to that place got their hair tossed around.
"I can't believe this, so he is the one that drives that wild motorcycle to school everyday", Scarlett said as she watched him go.
Ivy rolled her eyes.
"You say and ask things like you're not a student of this school", Ivy said and their driver arrived.
"I am going to tell Dad to buy me a cool motorcycle like that. I love motorcycles like that", she said with an excited look on her face.
"You know they won't buy it for you", Ivy said and entered the car.
"I hope they buy it for me", she said and entered the car. Few seconds later, the car drove off.
In a huge company owned by Mr Sheldon, Bruce and Mr Cole walked in. Every worker greeted them as they walked towards Mr Sheldon's office. They got to a massive golden door and the bodyguards there opened it for them and they entered the overly spacious office painted with mostly white and a touch of golden color. No one was there but they kept walking towards a painting called The Scream by Edvard Munch. When they got there they knocked three times and the portrait slid open to the side.
A door appeared and they opened it and walked into an elevator close to it.The elevator descended and when it came to an halt, they walked out of the elevator and entered another huge room filled with people that looked dangerous.
"Finally, you're here". Mr Sheldon said as Mr Cole and Bruce stood in an at-ease position.
Mr Sheldon walked closer and punched Bruce in his stomach. Bruce groaned but he did not change his position.
"Who is Leonardo Appleford? Do I even need to ask? He is the smug investment banker, Appleford's son. Isn't he?", he asked staring angrily at Bruce who was looking at the ground. Bruce nodded and Sheldon gave him another punch in the stomach.
"So why are you scared of him? Why did you let him dodge all the punches you threw ? He asked as he ground his teeth in anger. You can't even rule your school. He punctuated each word with another blow to the guts. How... exactly... will... you... take... over?"
Bruce couldn't hold the pain so he fell down on his knees.
"Take him upstairs. Bruce, start to prove your worth", he said and left Bruce. He walked to their midst.
"Tomorrow night, every member of the family must be at the warehouse, no excuses cause there will be an important meeting". Sheldon said.
"We hear you boss", they said in unison.
In the evening, Leo and his father were having dinner.
"I'll be traveling tomorrow morning", Appleford said as he cut his steak. Leo didn't say a word and he kept on eating.
"Well, aren't you going to say anything?", Appleford said but Leo didn't reply.
"Leo". Appleford called out and Leo took a sip out of his juice.
"Just leave me alone, dad. What do you want me to say?", he said and took another bite.
"Leo, when are you going to stop this attitude of yours?!", he asked angrily.
Leo slammed the table and stood up angrily.
"Maybe until you bring mum back which we both know is never gonna happen because of you!", he shouted and walked away. Appleford watched him walk away with a frustrated look on his face.
"Leo, you know I couldn't stop it", he said with a broken voice as he placed his hands on his face.
At the Joseph's mansion, everyone was ready to have dinner. Ivy came down the stairs and was walking towards the dining table when Mrs Joseph looked at her direction.
"Ivy, where is Scarlett?", Mrs Joseph asked as she helped the maids serve the food for dinner.
Ivy joined her mum and the maids in setting the dining table. "I don't know mum. She's probably in her training room practicing kick boxing again". Ivy said and stretched her hand to take an apple when Mrs Joseph hit her hand.
"Ouch", Ivy shouted while she rubbed her hand.
"Finish setting the table before eating anything". She said to Ivy.
"I'll go and get Scarlett", Mrs Joseph said.
"Don't worry, I'll go get Scarlett. Ivy, help them to set the table". Mr Joseph said and rushed upstairs.
Mr Joseph entered Scarlett's training room and met Scarlett punching and kicking the punching bag.
I have always told you not to punch anything or anyone before dinner, Mr Joseph said and Scarlett stopped.
Mr Joseph came closer and stretched out his hand. Scarlett pouted and stretched out her hand then Mr Joseph took off her boxing gloves.
Why exactly are you doing this when your dream is not becoming a professional kickboxer?, Mr Joseph asked as he dropped the boxing gloves on a bench.
I want to keep fit and hit Bruce very hard one-day that he won't be able to hit me back. He is annoying, she said and Mr Joseph chuckled.
I wish you are this dedicated to improving your school results, Mr Joseph said as both of them walked towards the door.
Scarlett sighed. If only wishes were horses. Scarlett said nonchalantly and went the opposite way.
Where are you going?, Mr Joseph asked as he stopped walking.
Where else, Dad? To freshen up, I'll come down for dinner soon. She said and walked away.
Okay, do quick. Mr Joseph said and left too.
